  • May I ask, i have this similar setup for betta. how often do u clean the aquarium? my aquarium is full of shits within a weeks...

    yours kinda clean...

  • @mansengkwan 25% change two times a week.

  • @tekstyle373 seriously 25% twice a week? i do like 40% every month...

  • @tekstyle373 That is how I keep the plants looking good! only gravel vac once a week, the other is just a quick water change. dip the bucket in, fill it, empty it, treat fresh water, add.

  • Great tank! I'm so glad to see you are one of the few who understand that betta fish need SPACE in order to thrive! You could do with a few more plants though. They prefer lots of hiding spaces and plants to swim around.

  • u breeding?

  • Looks just like my betta. =]

  • lucky fish

  • very nice tank with a gorgeous healthy fighter. there always much happier in tanks as i have 2 of them both in big tanks :)

  • very nice tank :)

  • HI! May I ask how you fit the Marineland Penguin 100 filter into your 5.5g tank?? With all the pieces connected, the 'cane' of the filter extends 2 inches below the bottom of my 10G tank, lol.......... In your videos, it looks like your filters are completely upright!!!!!!!! Did you modify/remove a section? I tried removing part 7 from it, but parts 6 and 8 won't connect........ I don't know what to do, lol! Please help me XD

  • Very nice aquascape! Zeus looks very active and happy.

  • Thanks. The baby tears did not do well. I have redone the aquascaping and all the new plants are thriving. I have a video of it up as well as my other CT's tank

  • nice setup, yours is one of the nicest 5gal setups i've seen, where did you get the dwarf baby tears at a local shop or online?

  • Thanks, I got them at a local shop. they did not fair well though. the girl manhandled them getting the out of the tank and as I expected they did not last long do to it. i have replaced them with a moss ball.

  • you're using the penguin 100? is it loud? i just bought one yesterday and it makes noise and wont let me sleep lol

  • Yes I have a penguin 100. They quiet down after time. I do not have the tanks in my room though, they are in the living room.

  • thanks for the reply, i also don't use carbon and didnt know if i was putting the floss in correctly (or if there was a better way) so thanks again! by the way i have watched this video quite alot, i absolutly love it!

  • thanks! I have had to redesign it a little, the HC (dwarf baby tears) did not fair so well, so I pulled then, added moss balls, green cabomba, dwarf hair grass, wendtii crypt, anbias barteri v barteri, which are all propagating well and a plastic balanese lantern decoration given by a friend. It's plastic, but looks real good. I should have 2 new videos up soon, One of Zeus' tank redesign, and one of my new betta Ares a black body red finned CT :)

  • can't wait, apparently you know what your doing, i'm sure it will look awesome

  • I posted videos of both tanks last night, check other videos by me or my channel. They may be missing audio though. I'm very happy with them :)

  • the most beautiful, natural tank i've seen yet!! how do you put the filter floss in? is it where you put a cartridge or fill it up from the bottom?

  • Thank you! I cut the blue floss off of the cartridge, empties out the carbon, then wrap the filter floss across the cartridge and slide it in place.

  • Great looking tank! It's good to see bettas that are well taken care of.

  • Thank you! He is quite spoiled.

  • Should Add a small school of around 3-5 Neons in there

    they wont bother him

he wont bother them that'll make your tank Beutiful

but i dont know much about crown tail Beta's

so i dont know if they would attack other fish

    normal beta's dont so.. :P

  • 5.5 gallons is too small for neon's they need more room to swim, I would not put them in anything smaller than a 10 gallon.

The tank is over stocked as is with the betta, 3 otto's and 5 ghost shrimp in as a clean up crew and algae control.

  • oh dident notice sorry :S

  • lol, no worries. They were not in the tank at the point of this video, they were still in quarantine tank.

The tank has changed a bit too. The HC (dwarf baby tears) did not do so well, I have removed it in favor of a moss ball, also have added more plants. I will video it soon.

  • i Dont bother quartining my fish before introducing them into my main tank... I Dont see the point i understand they might die of Stress etc But there's a high chanch it wont happion and i look forward to seeing your new Tank

  • I quarantine for 2 weeks before adding to main tank. Stress death is not my concern. Ich, fungal, and bacterial infections are.

No need to infect an entire tank!

  • Your like a expert!

i make sure the shops i get my fish from are 5/5 and have good living contitions

    either way

2 week is along time :S

how big is your quartine tank?

  • Lol ifish. Your walkin through Blockbuster and see a poster of you swimmin and Zeus coming under you with his mouth wide open XD lol

  • The musuc kinda creeped me out (lol).

Zues looks happy and is very pretty :)))

  • I picked the music from the classical selections youtube has available. It is called "Lonely Fighter" I thought the title fit :)

  • He is BEAUTIFUL!! Love him.... :)

  • very cute betta! He's very healthy of course. Nice tank too!

    I'm xRacheLx on bettafish btw.

  • Thanks, he is certainly healthy and very active. the current goes along that front glass panel ans he loves to swim in it.
