mary was an ordinary human being.she sinned cause she herself said she needed a savoir.yes she was speacial no doubt, very young an devout.the bible says there is NONE righteous no not one.there is no name under heaven besides jesus that we must be saved, its plain an clear.
@MrBeefreetwo Mary said she needed a Saviour, not a Redeemer...there is a difference. She needed a Saviour to be the mother of Jesus. A Saviour to save us from our sins, not a Redeemer to "buy back" or pay for our sins....There is a difference. Mary did not need a Redeemer, because she was saved from the stain of the original sin through Jesus, to be the Covenant of the Saviour, Jesus.
jesus to be saved.they all say mary is the mediatrix of all graces an that she was assumed into heaven with almost godlike status.but there are many true catholics who just believe in jesus as the only way to god.an the bible decalres that.thats why the protestans(protest) broke away an i did as well.furthermore there are many other faults in the catholic church as well..the cult of
I have found interesting that many people who converted TO the Catholic church were those in search of truth and found all the biblical support for the Catholic church IN the bible. My question is: Where in the bible does it state the the bible alone is the source of all truth? I'll never get that one. Thank you for being such a great food soldier, Steve!
Also, it is commonly believed (known) in most Christian denominations that Elijah was taken to Heaven in a chariot, without suffering death. And Moses, though he was not allowed to enter the promised land, oddly we find reference to the devil and an angel disputing over the body of Moses. Why? The devil is not allowed to come here and steal bodies, but he did want to prevent Moses from being swept into Heaven by the Archangel... Look at the history, it foretells Mary's Assumption.
During the Transfiguration, Elijah and Moses were seen with Jesus. They had already "passed" from this earthly life. And yet the apostles state clearly seeing their presence. How much more so might the Mother of God be seen? She appears for God's glory, not for her own. Just as Elijah and Moses appeared for God's glory. Now, if Elijah and Moses are with Christ in His Heavenly Kingdom, would not His mother be there as well?
She instructed those present "do all that He tells you". She directs us to do so today. When we pray the Rosary, we look at the life of Jesus, through the eyes of His mother. We meditate on the mysteries of faith. The rosary provides a deep reflective cadence, where we are drawn into the place of worship, and we meditate on Jesus.
@832existentialiste Very profound statement. At the Wedding Feast of Cana, the disciples were also present. Quite likely Saint Peter "heard the words" uttered by Mary to do all that Jesus told them to do. And yet, when Jesus was imprisoned, St. Peter denied knowing Jesus, not once, but thrice. Still, it was St. Peter who was given the keys of the Kingdom. Perhaps, when one is blessed is when they hear with the heart, more than the ears.
“…one is blessed is when they hear with the heart, more than the ears.”
How very true. Our Lady’s words here precisely teach us how to respond with our hearts just the way she did---which is the perfect response of TRUE FAITH i.e. by practicing this faith through action, in complete abandonment to God’s designs.
Ahh, but often TRUE FAITH is a process. The Apostles who walked and lived with Jesus daily during His ministry grew in faith after many failings. As mentioned before, even Saint Peter denied Christ, but it was Peter's remorse at having done so that lead him, Peter, to grow in faith. If all had TRUE FAITH from the very beginning, there would be no need for the other Sacraments like Reconciliation. Jesus knew we would often fail. He is just and merciful.
I am done with this converse now, as it seems to have gotten off topic to some degree. I do feel it is God's design that others know the truth about Him, often that truth comes through broken vessels. For in their weakness, His strength is shown.
May you find peace on your path and know sincerely that God loves you.
Thank you. True is a good one (descriptive word), for believing truly does show the "operative". I did not mean to offend by focusing on that particular word, but so often it is used to attack the failing Christian.
Mary, chosen by God, to bring His humanity (as well as His Divinity) into the world. As such, she is the Mother of God. Chosen to be so by God Himself.
Honor thy Father and thy Mother is one of the commandments. Jesus was devout (to say the least) and He placed the Highest honor on His Mother. Yes, Jesus is her Lord and Saviour. She is a creature. A created being, and thus in need of a Saviour. She is also Our Mother. When we pray the Rosary, Mary directs us to her Son, just as she did at Cana.
dont forger satan is crafty an if he can get catholics or anyone to worship an follow mary then he has many victories.JESUS alone is the savior.there is no other way.the bible declares.there is no other NAME by which we are saved.JESUS CHRIST.mary was a sinner.how am i so sure.ok,what did mary say to the angel.be it done unto me,MY LORD AN MY SAVIOR.so she too need a savior.its real clear.
@MrBeefreetwo since we don't worship Mary, your comment is without knowledge of what the truth is....The truth is we don't worship Mary, and that your interpretations of the bible are not ours. If you have a question, just ask.
for no marvel, satan an his demons can transform themselves into angels of light.now satan an his horde cannot take on physicallity.ive studied all of the apparitions of mary an none of them are biblical an are not in line with the truth.the bible says we are born once to live an then the judgement.MARY was a human so cannot appear spiritually,or bodily.so what they saw, belong to satan.sure they mention christ an god but thats it.they NEVER say jesus is the way,the truth
The day we recognize and realize what we are, thats the day we will learn that theres no reason or motive to hate or kill each other. That day Mother Nature will be happy and proud of the burden she bears, that beautiful process called life.
Have you ever wondered why the place was called Fatima in the first place?
Answer: A centuries old Popish plan to get the Muslims to accept 'Christianity' by naming the village after Muhammad's daughter. All this in place ready for the ecumenical movement to accept Isalm!
I used to be a Catholic and have left that religion. Honestly most people involved with it, I believe, are people who really have a yearning for God, but have been deceived. It wasn't until I started reading the Bible, along with some other God ordained events, that He opened my eyes to the Truth. If anyone, Catholic or not, is interested in talking, or would like to hear Biblical Truth and the problems found within Catholicism please feel free to PM me. God Bless!!
@stevesilvia I just wanted to let you know, I did not mean any personal offense. I just want to make sure people are saved and know that they are on their way to Heaven.
To honor someone to the point of what catholic do for Mary is worshiping. To confess your sins to a another human being as if they are better then you is worshiping. To honor and respect someone is one thing. But I feel that no one should be put into a position of all knowing and they are the way. This is how brain washing and corruptions start. Wake up people think for yourself. These people know no more about god then you do. So why would you let them dictate their idea of god to you.
@Tommy5297 Mine too. Her descendants will crush satan's head. Saluted as a queen by Gabriel. To be blessed by all generations. The Holy Spirit honored her through Elizabeth. John jumped in Elizabeth's womb at the sound of her voice. She and her husband (Joseph) were the only relatives of Jesus as is implied when He got lost in Jerusalem. Induced Jesus to make His first miracle. Present at Christ's death. Present at the inauguration of Christ's Church. Persecuted by satan at the end of times.
@211jhb OK that's fair enough! However, what you call speculative possibilities and improbabilities all have bearing on the subject and don't forget that the Bible tells us that "with God, all things are possible."I sincerely hope that you will be prompted at some time in your life to give them consideration. Thank you for the opportunity of debating with you and I too, likewise will give some thought to your answers. God bless
@211jhb You appear to be saying that Peter stayed in Rome, and Paul went on his missionary journeys. YES? So what about ALL of the other apostles, where did they go? Surely the answer to this would be they went out into ALL THE WORLD telling the good news of Jesus Christ? St Peter and St Paul were not the only fishers of men.
@211jhb So when I was first baptised in the age of three months, I could not talk and I certainly did not know God and when I was sprinkled with water I did not feel any different – and I probably cried which most babies do.
My second baptism was at the age of 27 and I spoke of how Jesus had saved me. This baptism involved total immersion underwater to signify how Jesus cleanses from all sin. In my mind, the first one is negatory!
@211jhb So if you think that my claims are legends, then what about Lazarus? Have you ever thought why the Jews wanted to get rid of him and some of the Apostles(Paul was no problem to them because he was out of the country, probably on his missionary journeys) and his uncle Joseph of Arimathea so quickly? Why did he end up as Bishop of Marseille? Do you really think that Lazarus would live happily ever after with his sisters in Bethany? I guess there is the smoking gun for you?
@211jhb Any student? (As long as he/she is Roman Catholic) both Linus and Claudia were the children of a British chieftain Caratacus, aka King 's Arivargarus who was captured and taken as a prisoner into Rome. Therefore, the Celtic (or Culdee meaning "refugee") church has legitimate superiority over the Roman Catholic Church.
@211jhb I don't know which country you come from… But here in England and some families were brought up to be staunch Catholics and their children did not have any choice. Admittedly this was 50 years ago and there is a possibility that things have changed. If you are a parent would you allow your children to follow any other denomination? Would you give them the freedom to choose whichever belief system they liked? That is the kind of question a grown-up would ask.
@211jhb Consider Lazarus and his sisters from Bethany – after they were cast into an open boat, it first landed in Marseille, before continuing on to England. After a couple of years, Lazarus and his sisters returned to Marseille where Lazarus became the Bishop. His tomb still exists in the cathedral there and so I would be very wary of interpreting 1John 2:19 saying that the US represents the Roman Catholic Church. BTW St Lazarus was martyred after about seven years by being beheaded.
@211jhb When I was about three months old, I was "christened" in the church of England, and had godparents who promised to bring me up in the ways of God – like many godparents, they did not even go to church and I did not know any better… UNTIL I became a born-again AND I WANTED to be baptised. The question is can I be baptised twice? Which one is valid? The first one I can barely remember and yet the second one I can still remember to this day because I chose to make a public confession.
@211jhb 1 John 2:19 can equally apply to you. The RC church were NOT the first church.A few years after Jesus was crucified, the Jews wanted to remove any witnesses who had been in contact with Jesus because their testimony was becoming a problem and so they decided to be rid of them. Some of the party included Joseph of Arimathea, Mary mother of God, Mary Magdalene, Lazarus, the Bethany sisters and some others. There are records in England that the first church was formed in Glastonbury.
@211jhb You asked me to THINK and I did – just because I gave you an answer which you were not expecting, you dismiss it by saying that I declined. I spent more than half of my life being agnostic until the age of 27, I asked the Lord Jesus Christ to come into my life, saying I was sorry for the sins I had committed and that he could the Lord of my life. As a result, I was born again. Furthermore, I WANTED to be baptised (this is an automatic desire) and I made a conscious decision.
@211jhb During a baptismal service, the new convert to Christianity is totally immersed in water and makes a public confession that he/she has asked Jesus into their lives and gives a testimony of what he has done. The big question is at what stage can a child make such a confession, is it three months? One year? Five years? (It should be when they know right from wrong.) For this reason, Catholicism is very close to Islam in that you are born into that religion!
@211jhb I am having a nice day because this is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it. The real thing is Jesus, NOT MARY so if you want the real McCoy ask Jesus into your life! Incidentally the whore of Babylon is being revealed in front of our very eyes as you look at the European Union, which is in effect, the Holy Roman Empire revisited. The RC Church is the spiritual aspect of it and will reveal the spirit of the Antichrist along with the false prophet.
@211jhb you're the only one rewashing that old gossip...if you have proof to back up your accusations, show them to everyone here. Other wise, don't bring it up anymore....
@211jhb Utter rubbish! God does not make veiled references at all. There is no secrecy – why should there be? The word of God is sharper than a double edged sword. I'm afraid you define being born again slightly incorrect. Baptism is by no means necessary – the thief on the cross next to Jesus was not baptised, he just believed (and repented) and went with Jesus on that very day! I would seriously question whether the children under 5 years could make a decision to repent and follow Jesus.
@211jhb No problem! Most churches I have been to have Holy Communion – we each share in the bread and wine as Jesus told us to. The identity of the woman mentioned in Revelation is the "WHORE OF BABYLON".
@211jhb It is a fair comment as bishops in the Church of England also wear purple which is the royal colour. However, the combination of Cardinals and bishops in the Catholic Church remain with those colours. I don't see any other churches using those colours predominately and I would be delighted if you could enlighten me on any other churches that do?
@211jhb What does GAL stand for? "come out of her" is NOT a veiled reference at all, and does not refer to a physical place of (i.e. Jerusalem, Sodom or Gomorrah), but a religious system which is the Catholic Church! You say that God's covenant people under the law were commanded to repent and believe the gospel and escape judgement. Can you please explain to me why Catholics do not preach the process of being born again?
All Catholics should read Revelation which speaks of the world church which is the Antichrist who wear SCARLET and PURPLE (surely this is a clear enough clue?). I wonder who that could be? Can you hear The Holy Spirit saying to you: "come out of her."?
JESUS CHRIST IS A MEDIATOR BETWEEN US AND GOD THE FATHER AND ST MARY IS MEDIATOR BETWEEN US AND HER SON-CHRIST CONFIRMED BY VISIONARIES FOR 2000 YEARS.
GOD WANTS FAMILY NOT ROBOTS AND ALLOWS ST MARY AND ALL SAINTS AND ANGELS to HELP US!
SHE IS OUR MOTHER IN CHRIST AND BLESSED BY ALL GENERATIONS
"And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Rev. 12:1-17
@ThereseMarie59 You seem unaware that Jesus Himself, says, Amen, Amen?!!!!!
Yes, I kiss the feet of statues, and Crucifixes, sometimes. In my heart, I am kissing the real feet of the real person who is simply represented by a statue. And Sunday was chosen because it happens to be the day that Jesus resurrected, on the third morning following Holy Thursday, when Jesus instituted the Last Supper and when he was then betrayed in the Garden of Gethsemane. Can you count?
ok, when someone in your family, or someone you love dies, and you perhaps go to their grave, and you might talk to them. exact same thing when Catholics pray to mary, we are talking to her, asking her to pray for us. We may give a slight bow to a crucifix, or a statue, not because we are worshiping it, we are bowing to show a sign of respect to the PERSON in the image, not the statue itself....
You all should research the last vision of Fatima, where the Trinity was revealed to Sis. Lucia at Tuy in 1929. The biblical lord is not in it, explaining the reason for the Fatima prayer on the lord beads "save me from the fires of hell." Our Lady, the Mother of God is in the Trinity and the Holy Ghost is the Father. Go to FATIMAMOVEMENT d o t c o m for the evidence. It will change your life.
Protestants keep on saying "It's not in the bible". There are a lot of things that aren't in the bible. In the Gospel of St. John 21:25 it says that Jesus did many things that aren't recorded in scripture. As for images,God commanded that images of cherubims be put on the Ark (Exodus 25:17-22). In 1Kings 6:23-35,Solomon's temple had many images including the cherubim. Jesus on the cross said to John the apostle" Behold Thy Mother" re: Mary. Pray for us sinners,Mother Mary. Down with Mariophobia!
no if you are praying to someone or something you worship them and when you worship you treat them as god so please pray to JESUS alone not to any other saints or statues because only JESUS can save you and mary is not in the bible and mary is not for told in the bible to be worshiped or prayed to
I believe Jesus will not like any disrespect toward His Mother, just as you would to your mother. Jesus will not deny anyone who goes through His Mother. It shows humility of heart. Also Mary is mentioned in the Holy Bible, not just any version of the Bible; She is even mentioned in the Kuran. Mary has always been with Her Son Jesus throughout His life and at His death.
@shansheng21 Funny, I thought I'd read about Mary in the Nativity Narrative... BTW, Praying simplying means talking to. When I pray to Mary, I'm simply talking to her and asking her to pray for me. And why are you so stupid as to think we actually pray to statues??? They're just images that remind us of the saints. Stop being so stupid.
@MrInseine The hell are you talking about??? And a saint is someone who's made it to Heaven. Either that, or someone who's completely without sin... Are you completely without sin? I think not. You and I are both sinners, saved by Jesus. I can count ten sins I've commited since this morning. How can I be a saint if I've commited sins. Stop being stupid and stop interpreting the Holy Scriptures by yourself.
Sanctus, meaning "Holy". Just a little Latin for you.
@MrInseine Funny, I'm pretty sure 10,000 other denominations will interpret that their own way... Yet the Church interpreted it only one way for 2000 years. Do you know spanish? Because if you do, then you know how many definitions the word 'santo" has, including, saint, holy, Godly, saintly, and saint-like. It's common in spanish to refer to someone as a "santo" meaning, a very Godly person. Stop interpreting the Holy Scriptures yourself.
@samuellawless1 By 'the church' I assume you are talking of the Roman Catholic Church. If so. the church is wrong and the 10,000 denominations are correct.
Your lying when you say they intrpreted it one way for 2000 years - let's see Christ was crucified 33AD+2011AD=2044AD. Stop making untrue claims!
@MrInseine Do you know how stupid you sound... The one Church that existed since the beginning was wrong that whoooole time, yet 10,000 different whack-jobs who claim to have the truth, are all somehow correct. All these whackos who interpret the Bible so many different ways, tearing people apart are right. The trinitarians, the unitarians, the ones who believe in gay marriage, the ones who accept contraception, all these opposing views are right.
@MrInseine Oh and would you shut up about the 2K thing. it's just a general estimate, geez. I know the Church isn't EXACTLY two thousand years old. Oh my gosh, I'm a monster and a heretic now! What makes you think the Church is wrong btw? Is Sola Scriptura anywhere in the BIble? Before the New Testament was written, the authority was in the hands of Peter and the Apostles; they were the Church and they wrote the NT Scriptures.
@MrInseine .........Wow...... Really? That's your argument? That doesn't even say anything about scripture or the transmission of the Word. It just talks about Jesus and His relation to the One Holy Triune God. Seriously, have you run out of idiotic things to say? Sola Scripture = Idiots saying the interpreting the Bible to accomodate their own interests and comforts.
@samuellawless1 No argument, Jesus IS the WORD. Obviously you cannot understand this because you don't know Jesus - i.e he does not live in your heart just as the Bible says. OK, another case for sola scriptura is 2 Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right." Notice the word ALL at the beginning. The word of God permeates life itself.
@MrInseine Why are you being so stupid....? Yes, I know Jesus is the Word, but how is that Word transmitted to us. Do you understand what I'm saying to you? do I need to go a little slower? John 1:1 has nothing to do with Scripture. It simply states that Jesus is the Word. Ok so He's the word, what does that have to do with how we learn about the Word? Do you see where I'm coming from Here? Protestants believe Scripture alone transmits the Word, Catholics believe the Church does. (cont.)
@MrInseine Your statement about John 1:1 makes no sense here. And shut up already with the whole "you don't know Jesus" crap, you sound like some ignorant moron who knows nothing about theology. So Jesus is the Word, so what? All Christians believe this. And please, PLEASE look back and the comparison I made between Prots. and RCs on how we recieve the Word. Jesus is the Word, but He's not here right now is He? And please don't say some stupid crap like "because He's not in your heart.".
@samuellawless1 The use of phrases like" you sound like an ignorant moron" is not Christlike behaviour. Also please tell me of the Anglicans and Puritans who burnt Catholics at the stake for heresy?
@samuellawless1 That does not give you licence to call me an idiot, moron ? does it.
If the bible advises us to think "everyone better than himself", then what does that make you, if you refer to me as such? Whereas I agree, we DO have blood on our hands you've not given me historical evidence of Anglicans or Puritans killing Catholics.
@MrInseine You say idiotic things and make moronic claims. And don't worry, every Christian group has done those kinds of things to opposing groups throughout history. Although I might have mistaken the Puritans for someone else, Puritan is usually used as a type of blanket term sometimes. But nevertheless, educate yourself in things like theology, literature, and history and you'll understand why your Protestants are so ridiculous.
@samuellawless1 Have you ever consider that the Roman Catholic church may be iin error and that Jesus is using us to enlighten you? The problem I have is Purgatory, selling of indulgences, praying to saints, Infant baptism,Pilgrimage, Use of rosary, Transubstanciation, Process of martyrdom - none of which I can find in the bible. How is the Pope a DIRECT desendent of ST. Peter?
@MrInseine Who said all of God's revelation has to be in the Bible? Where did you all get this idea in the first place? The NT didn't even exist at one point. Put yourself in the shoes of a Christian in the year 38AD. Who is the authority? The Apostles and their leader, the personal representitive of Christ on Earth, Peter. And do you actually mean to tell me you actually think the current Pope is a BLOOD descendant of Peter??? Because if that what you think, then you are severly uneducated.
@samuellawless1 Who said all of God's revelation has to be in the Bible? Jesus did - he would respond to the devil "it is written".
Where did you all get this idea in the first place? The Holy Spirit told me/us.
Yes we are forunate to have God's word in its entirity and have absolutely NO need for a representitive of Christ on Earth, Peter. "....by my spiri saith the Lord."
@MrInseine There was no Church back then and guess what, Jesus' entire ministry didn't come from Scripture. Before there was a NT, there was simply the things Jesus and His Apostles did. "It is written" has nothing to do with it. Oh and I'm sure the Holy Spirit told those whackos in the Episcopal Church that gay marriage is ok. I'm sure the Holy Spirit told some nut to go and start his own abortion approving church somewhere.
@samuellawless1 "it is written" has everything to do with it. That's where your very mistaken my friend!
Furthermore, the Holy Spirit most certainly did not tell the episcopal church that gay marriage is okay – ask yourself, why would he, if the Bible expressly forbids it? The same thing with abortions, (though shalt not kill) which is expressly forbidden in the 10 Commandments. Jesus said that a tree will be known by its fruits.
@MrInseine And yes, we do need a vicar here on Earth to keep people like you from interpreting things the way you feel comfortable doing. We need someone to run the Church while we wait for Christ. You see, the Bible isn't an organic organization capable of handling contemporary issues. The Church is a gift, accept it. BTW little fun fact here, dispite having the Scriptures with him, the royal Ethiopian court official needed one of the Apostles to interpret it for him...
@samuellawless1 Please consider that you might be that Ethiopian official who needs a brother to give you some enlightenment! (Of course, you could say the same about me but be aware that one of us must be wrong.)
@MrInseine No........ Priests as in presbyters who are actually in charge of preforming the Christian rituals we know today as the Seven Holy Sacraments.
@samuellawless1 So what you're saying is that there has to be a priest present to administer communion? What if two or three people are gathered together in the name of Christ and want to have communion – did they have to wait for a priest to come along or did they do as Jesus said: "whenever you eat this bread and drink this wine, do this in remembrance of me" he never mentions that a priest should be present.
@MrInseine Jesus is the priest at the Last Supper. And yes, this teaches us to rely on one another, to be a community, to make sure we don't all go our own way and start believing we don't need anybody to aid us. It teaches us to be humble.
@MrInseine The current Pope at any time is simply the successor of Peter through Apostolic Succession. In other words, after Peter, a new leader or "head bishop" was elected, and after his death, a new one, and then a new one, and so on and so forth until you get to our current vicar of Christ, Benedict XVI. Just like the direct lineage of presidents of the U.S.(sort of). And as for everything else you listed, I could give you a perfect explanation for each one of those things if you would like.
@samuellawless1 Okay, thank you for taking the trouble to explain this to me! You could give me a perfect explanation of those things but only if they can be supported by the Bible.
@MrInseine I can only imagine you as a Jew in 35AD listening to the Apostles preach and telling them "show us where in the Hebrew Scriptures it says to accept three persons as one God and to accept the Messiah as God.". See where I'm coming from here. But nevertheless, all of this can be backed up by Scripture, for Sacred Scripture is a reflection of Sacred Tradition.
@samuellawless1 Yes, I can accept your point, however, you must understand that I asked Jesus to come into my heart as Revelation 3:20 explains before I even looked at the Bible! It is only when I did this that the Bible made any sense to me.
@MrInseine And? Just because you found truth in the words of the Bible doesn't mean you all of a sudden have a right to do things your own way. You have to be obidient to the Church as early Christians were to the Apostles, the first bishops. Look how much chaos Christendom has gone through because of the Protestant revolution started by a disobidient monk.
@MrInseine God makes the Pope infallible when speaking in Ex Cathedra which is the proclamation of dogmas. This way, you will never be taught a false doctrine. Jesus gave Peter the keys to Heaven. He intrusted His flock to Peter at the end of the Gospel of John.
@samuellawless1 The Bible says: "no one is righteous (fallible), not even one" furthermore why has the Pope changed the dogma of the Deity of Jesus Christ to come into line with Islamic tradition?
@MrInseine ........................WHAT?! What the hell are you talking about?! What dogma about the "deity" of Jesus Christ? What the hell does Islamic tradition have anything to do with.... Anything?!?! Where are you getting this??? The devinity of Christ is the same as always; He is the Son of God and God the Son, second person of the Holy Trinity, the Messiah. Show me where you're getting this. The last dogmatic addition was in 1950; The Assumption of Mary.
@samuellawless1 Just wait and see, the Roman Catholic Church will be welcoming Muslims, Jews, some Anglicans (liberals of course) and any other faith. This is the ecumenical movement and by saying that salvation through Jesus is not necessary, it is paving the way for the world church. This is all mentioned in Revelation.
@MrInseine Oh and rightious doesn't mean infallability. The Pope isn't kept from personal moral error, he's just kept from making an error when speaking Ex Cathedra, THAT'S ALL. The Pope sins jsut like any other man (thus he is not rightious), and man have we seen the sins a Pope is capable of, i.e. Peter denying Jesus (the first Pope for crying out loud...) But, he is kept from making doctrinal errors, i.e. Matthew 16:16, and so thus Jesus made him Pope - Matthew 16:18.
Furthermore, why isn't the Pope born-again if he proclaims to be a Christian? This begs the question are you born-again? Please explain your views on this subject.
@MrInseine And notice how Jesus says to him, "...and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it." meaning the Church will not be brought into error.
@samuellawless1 No it doesn't mean that. It means that the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Truly, truly, I say unto you that where there is a human being (we are all born into sin) there will be error. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
@MrInseine The Holy Spirit keeps the Pope from error when speaking in Ex Cathedra and defining dogmas. Jesus gave Peter the keys to Heaven. Oh and something I forgot to mention about "it is written", didn't you notice that Satan used Scripture against Jesus? It was the devil that first quoted Scripture. But it was Jesus who knew how to handle and interpret the Scriptures properly. The Jews used Scripture to justify stoning others, but then again "thou shalt not kill"... You need an interpreter..
@MrInseine I've met people with sick, twisted, self-interpretations of the Bible. Worshipping their own way. No order, no unity. All of Christendom is torn apart. Unitarians worshiping Jesus as another "god", Mormons (founded by a guy utterly confused by all the different denominations) believing in Polygamy, Christians accepting birthcontrol and homosexual marriage, destroying Gods purpose for sex. I've met couples who believe "swinging" isn't sinful at all as long as there's "consent".
@MrInseine And what makes you think you're not in error? How different are you from them. Thankfully you're one of the Prots. who are more or less in line with the teachings of Christ, but then again, you're interpreting the Bible on your own just like them.
@samuellawless1 Well please explain this: why did Roman Catholic Church not allow the masses to be educated? – i.e. why did the priests speak in Latin throughout their services (and are still doing so in some cases) is it any wonder that Martin Luther brought about the Reformation which made the Bible available to the common man?
@MrInseine You're right, Martin Luther did have the right idea and I praise him for that, for wanting people to know the Word. That was a mistake the Church was making for many centuries. Thankfully now things are different and Mass is held in the vernacular thus bring people closer to the Gospel. But rather than being disobidient and creating his own church, Martin Luther should've tried to change the Church.
@MrInseine This chaos is proof God is not with you Protestants. Despite all the mistakes the RC has made, despite all the persecutions both endured and caused by the RC, it's overcome all of these trials and is still here taking care of Christs flock. The leaders of the RC, throughout history, made a lot of mistakes, but so has every other person! They're only human. And obviously they weren't doing what Jesus taught, but then again, the Israelites disobeyed God too, yet He kept His Covnenant.
@MrInseine And no, the church is not in error, not when it comes to doctrinal matters. It's made mistakes before, but it is divinely protected from error when it comes to the core dogmatic beliefs of Christianity.
@samuellawless1 By this, do you mean that God gave you permission to torture to the point of death many people that dared to challenge the authority of the Pope? Did this divine protection allow priests to sexually abuse children?
@MrInseine Everyone has done these things. Aren't the Church leaders human? The only thing they're kept from is doctrinal error, other than that, they made the same mistake everyone else makes, including Protestants.
@MrInseine I said protection from the destruction of the Church, not from you. Errors like anything that goes against the truth of God. Example: Teaching that there is no Hell. Wrong. The Pope would be kept from making such a proclamation.
@samuellawless1 See above – I thought that it was commonly known that man can only be saved through Jesus Christ which is what the Bible teaches. In this book the Pope teaches that there are two ways – "THEY ARE NOT EXCLUDED FROM SALVATION" is particularly revealing.
@stevesilvia A book called "God and the World" by Cardinal Ratzinger – pages 151+152: "their no to Christ brings the Israelites into conflict with the subsequent acts of God, but at the same time we know that they are assured of the faithfulness of God they are not excluded from salvation, but they serve salvation in a particular way, and thereby they stand within the patience of God in which we, too, place our trust. IT IS WRITTEN! Check it out Brother
@stevesilvia Okay, I have re-read the statement and it is ambiguous. It implies that the Jews can be saved by a different way – i.e. by not accepting Jesus into their hearts. Notice that he does not mention how to be saved as the Bible states that there is no other way to be saved except by being born again. Maybe that is just why Protestants and Roman Catholics remain separate.
@stevesilvia That's your interpretation/opinion. I still regard it as ambiguous. Allow me to ask you a question: how do you become a Christian? What makes you certain that you are a Christian?
Depending on your answer, might reveal why I think it is still ambiguous.
@MrInseine I don't think it's ambiguous. whats hard to understand? Salvation belongs to God alone. A simple definition of a Christian is a person who follows Jesus Christ. The Catholic Church teaches : John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"
@stevesilvia That's far too simple… Anybody can claim that. I noticed that you did not answer my question "what makes you certain that you are a Christian?"
How how do the Catholic Church follow Christ's words to Nicodemus in John 3:3? "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Can you see the kingdom of God?
@stevesilvia With respect, Jesus answered that question in John 3:5-8. In other words he made it very clear to Nicodemus what the procedure was for being born again which is indeed a strange concept and yet millions of Christians have experienced this and found it to be true. We cannot understand why some people who say they are Christians cannot understand it. I think you need to study the full context of the Scripture.
@MrInseine Hebrews 11:5 "Because of faith Enoch was caught up and transferred to heaven, so that he did not have a glimpse of death;..." 2 Kings 2:11 "And Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven." I think you need to study the full context of the Scripture.....as you say
@stevesilvia What are you on about? Am I supposed to be a mind reader? The only thing that I think you are alluding to is that Enoch did not die and Elijah went to Heaven in a whirlwind. I you trying to imply that because they enter the kingdom of God without meeting Jesus, that means anyone can without the need of being born again. If you consider that they were old Testament characters and the need to be born again was not necessary then (but faith was!) If you don't know, please ask.
@MrInseine I don't need to ask you for your interpretations....like I said, salvation belongs to God alone, who knows our hearts, and He decides who gets into heaven...
@stevesilvia No you don't and that is your prerogative. However, you DO need to ask yourself if you want to believe the words of a fallible Pope and what he teaches OR what the Bible teaches?
@MrInseine What good is an infallible book, without an infallible interpreter? That is why Jesus gave Peter the "keys". All churches, religions, and bible fundamentals, Mormons, ect. all believe they "have " the interpretations from the Holy Spirit, yet each believe in different and opposing beliefs. Thus there lies your confussion, and fighting.... We still hold the Keys that Peter has passed on from Pope to Pope.
@stevesilvia Your statement does not make any sense: what do you mean by ALL churches, religions? I can only assume that you mean Catholics and Muslims. Mormons are cults, as are Jehovah's Witnesses. In the main, Christian churches all agree to follow the fundamental teaching of Christ as written down in the Bible. This is something Catholics do not do! You have still not explained to me how to be born-again and why the Pope does not explain this to all the Catholics?
@stevesilvia You need to keep reading because in verse 9, Nicodemus asks Jesus if this can be done then Jesus explains in verse 10 that it Can. So therefore I will ask why is this not in the Catholic teaching? Now you can see why I can find the Pope's teaching to be ambiguous?
@MrInseine Oh and one more thing. Do you really expect me to believe that for nearly 1500 years the Church was in error and the world had been misled? Didn't Jesus say the Spirit would never abandon us? Seems to me that a Church like ours that has endured so much the last two millenium including its own mistakes it has commited has had God on her side this whole time, like the Jews of old, and we all know they were far worse, disobidient children, yet He never abandoned them.
@samuellawless1 The only problem is that there were Christians – real Christians long before the Roman Catholic Church came into being. Some of them came over to England and formed the first church at Glastonbury. In fact the first Pope, Linus, was a Celtic prince or so some of our ancient writings tell us. Of course the Catholic Church has tried to destroy the evidence and claims that he came from Tuscany.
@MrInseine Either that or Christianity was just a heretical flop for 1500 years, meaning Jesus lied to us and He was never really there to correct us. John 6:53, Matthew 26:26 He seems pretty serious about us eating His flesh in order to have life in us... But then again, the famously literal Protestants would kindly make an acception here, twisting the Scriptures to suit their own beliefs and say He was being merely "symbolic". How do you expect to be ressurrected if your body isn't nurished.
@samuellawless1 Just think, if you were sitting at the table when the last supper was held, when Jesus broke the bread and said "this is my body" and poured the wine and said "this is my blood" I'm sure even you would say he was not speaking literally? Otherwise it would be called cannibalism.
@MrInseine Every time He was speaking symbolicly, He would take his deciples apart and explain to them what He really meant. That was not the case in John chapter 6. He didn't tell them "this is what I really meant", He simply stood firm as others who couldn't accept this "hard" teaching walked away. He let them walk away, not something done for the sake of something merely symbolic. It is the Body of God. But it is in the form of bread and wine in order so that we may eat it.
@MrInseine Jesus is the Word, but, usually known as the Word, is actually the transmission of the Word, or rather, the Word of God REVEALED via text. You Prots. believe the Word is revealed only through Scripture, we RCs believe it revealed through the whole Church. In the early years of the Apostles, there wasn't exactly a NT now was there, and yet everyone followed the Apostles even though the Teachings of Christ were on paper yet. So what makes you think EVERYTHING is presented in Scripture?
@MrInseine Tim. 3:16 doesn't say a damned thing about SOLA Scripture. In fact, the tone of the writer says a lot: Scripture is USEFUL, but it's not the ONLY source of revealation. And the "All" simply says that all of it is inspired by God. "All Scripture is inspired by God..." Has nothing to do with the second part of the verse(which talks about teaching), that portion is meant to indicated the source of the Scripture, not its purpose. Do you even know anything about Scriptual study?
mary was an ordinary human being.she sinned cause she herself said she needed a savoir.yes she was speacial no doubt, very young an devout.the bible says there is NONE righteous no not one.there is no name under heaven besides jesus that we must be saved, its plain an clear.

TastetheTeardrops 6 days ago
During the Transfiguration, Elijah and Moses were seen with Jesus. They had already "passed" from this earthly life. And yet the apostles state clearly seeing their presence. How much more so might the Mother of God be seen? She appears for God's glory, not for her own. Just as Elijah and Moses appeared for God's glory. Now, if Elijah and Moses are with Christ in His Heavenly Kingdom, would not His mother be there as well?
TastetheTeardrops 6 days ago
She instructed those present "do all that He tells you". She directs us to do so today. When we pray the Rosary, we look at the life of Jesus, through the eyes of His mother. We meditate on the mysteries of faith. The rosary provides a deep reflective cadence, where we are drawn into the place of worship, and we meditate on Jesus.

Thank You for exposing Our Lady's wisdom. She knows very well that 'blessed are they who hear the word of God, and keep, it.' (Lk 11.28)
832existentialiste 6 days ago
@832existentialiste Very profound statement. At the Wedding Feast of Cana, the disciples were also present. Quite likely Saint Peter "heard the words" uttered by Mary to do all that Jesus told them to do. And yet, when Jesus was imprisoned, St. Peter denied knowing Jesus, not once, but thrice. Still, it was St. Peter who was given the keys of the Kingdom. Perhaps, when one is blessed is when they hear with the heart, more than the ears.
TastetheTeardrops 6 days ago
@TastetheTeardrops
832existentialiste 6 days ago
@832existentialiste
TastetheTeardrops 5 days ago
@832existentialiste
I am done with this converse now, as it seems to have gotten off topic to some degree. I do feel it is God's design that others know the truth about Him, often that truth comes through broken vessels. For in their weakness, His strength is shown.
May you find peace on your path and know sincerely that God loves you.

@TastetheTeardrops
'True’ is my personal choice of adjective to describe this faith. Perhaps the more apt one is ‘operative’.
Thank You for your blessing. The Merciful God grace you always.
832existentialiste 5 days ago
@832existentialiste
Thank you. True is a good one (descriptive word), for believing truly does show the "operative". I did not mean to offend by focusing on that particular word, but so often it is used to attack the failing Christian.
Sincerely love in Christ.

God Bless!!

God bless
MrInseine 1 month ago
@211jhb You appear to be saying that Peter stayed in Rome, and Paul went on his missionary journeys. YES? So what about ALL of the other apostles, where did they go? Surely the answer to this would be they went out into ALL THE WORLD telling the good news of Jesus Christ? St Peter and St Paul were not the only fishers of men.
MrInseine 1 month ago
@211jhb So when I was first baptised in the age of three months, I could not talk and I certainly did not know God and when I was sprinkled with water I did not feel any different – and I probably cried which most babies do.
My second baptism was at the age of 27 and I spoke of how Jesus had saved me. This baptism involved total immersion underwater to signify how Jesus cleanses from all sin. In my mind, the first one is negatory!
MrInseine 1 month ago
@211jhb So if you think that my claims are legends, then what about Lazarus? Have you ever thought why the Jews wanted to get rid of him and some of the Apostles(Paul was no problem to them because he was out of the country, probably on his missionary journeys) and his uncle Joseph of Arimathea so quickly? Why did he end up as Bishop of Marseille? Do you really think that Lazarus would live happily ever after with his sisters in Bethany? I guess there is the smoking gun for you?
MrInseine 1 month ago
@211jhb Any student? (As long as he/she is Roman Catholic) both Linus and Claudia were the children of a British chieftain Caratacus, aka King 's Arivargarus who was captured and taken as a prisoner into Rome. Therefore, the Celtic (or Culdee meaning "refugee") church has legitimate superiority over the Roman Catholic Church.
MrInseine 1 month ago
@211jhb I don't know which country you come from… But here in England and some families were brought up to be staunch Catholics and their children did not have any choice. Admittedly this was 50 years ago and there is a possibility that things have changed. If you are a parent would you allow your children to follow any other denomination? Would you give them the freedom to choose whichever belief system they liked? That is the kind of question a grown-up would ask.
MrInseine 1 month ago
@211jhb Consider Lazarus and his sisters from Bethany – after they were cast into an open boat, it first landed in Marseille, before continuing on to England. After a couple of years, Lazarus and his sisters returned to Marseille where Lazarus became the Bishop. His tomb still exists in the cathedral there and so I would be very wary of interpreting 1John 2:19 saying that the US represents the Roman Catholic Church. BTW St Lazarus was martyred after about seven years by being beheaded.
MrInseine 1 month ago
@211jhb When I was about three months old, I was "christened" in the church of England, and had godparents who promised to bring me up in the ways of God – like many godparents, they did not even go to church and I did not know any better… UNTIL I became a born-again AND I WANTED to be baptised. The question is can I be baptised twice? Which one is valid? The first one I can barely remember and yet the second one I can still remember to this day because I chose to make a public confession.
MrInseine 1 month ago
@211jhb 1 John 2:19 can equally apply to you. The RC church were NOT the first church.A few years after Jesus was crucified, the Jews wanted to remove any witnesses who had been in contact with Jesus because their testimony was becoming a problem and so they decided to be rid of them. Some of the party included Joseph of Arimathea, Mary mother of God, Mary Magdalene, Lazarus, the Bethany sisters and some others. There are records in England that the first church was formed in Glastonbury.
MrInseine 1 month ago
@211jhb You asked me to THINK and I did – just because I gave you an answer which you were not expecting, you dismiss it by saying that I declined. I spent more than half of my life being agnostic until the age of 27, I asked the Lord Jesus Christ to come into my life, saying I was sorry for the sins I had committed and that he could the Lord of my life. As a result, I was born again. Furthermore, I WANTED to be baptised (this is an automatic desire) and I made a conscious decision.
MrInseine 1 month ago

The RC Church is the spiritual aspect of it and will reveal the spirit of the Antichrist along with the false prophet.

stevesilvia 1 month ago
@211jhb Utter rubbish! God does not make veiled references at all. There is no secrecy – why should there be? The word of God is sharper than a double edged sword. I'm afraid you define being born again slightly incorrect. Baptism is by no means necessary – the thief on the cross next to Jesus was not baptised, he just believed (and repented) and went with Jesus on that very day! I would seriously question whether the children under 5 years could make a decision to repent and follow Jesus.
MrInseine 1 month ago
@211jhb No problem! Most churches I have been to have Holy Communion – we each share in the bread and wine as Jesus told us to. The identity of the woman mentioned in Revelation is the "WHORE OF BABYLON".

@211jhb It is a fair comment as bishops in the Church of England also wear purple which is the royal colour. @211jhb What does GAL stand for? Can you please explain to me why Catholics do not preach the process of being born again?

Protestants keep on saying "It's not in the bible". There are a lot of things that aren't in the bible. In the Gospel of St. John 21:25 it says that Jesus did many things that aren't recorded in scripture. As for images,God commanded that images of cherubims be put on the Ark (Exodus 25:17-22). In 1Kings 6:23-35,Solomon's temple had many images including the cherubim. Jesus on the cross said to John the apostle" Behold Thy Mother" re: Mary. Pray for us sinners,Mother Mary. Stop interpreting the Holy Scriptures yourself.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 By 'the church' I assume you are talking of the Roman Catholic Church. If so. the church is wrong and the 10,000 denominations are correct.
Your lying when you say they intrpreted it one way for 2000 years - let's see Christ was crucified 33AD+2011AD=2044AD. Stop making untrue claims!
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine Do you know how stupid you sound... The one Church that existed since the beginning was wrong that whoooole time, yet 10,000 different whack-jobs who claim to have the truth, are all somehow correct. All these whackos who interpret the Bible so many different ways, tearing people apart are right. The trinitarians, the unitarians, the ones who believe in gay marriage, the ones who accept contraception, all these opposing views are right.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@MrInseine Oh and would you shut up about the 2K thing. it's just a general estimate, geez. I know the Church isn't EXACTLY two thousand years old. Oh my gosh, I'm a monster and a heretic now! What makes you think the Church is wrong btw? Is Sola Scriptura anywhere in the BIble? Before the New Testament was written, the authority was in the hands of Peter and the Apostles; they were the Church and they wrote the NT Scriptures.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 jOHN 1:1 Is the best case of sola scriptura -Jesus IS the word!!
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine .........Wow...... Really? That's your argument? That doesn't even say anything about scripture or the transmission of the Word. It just talks about Jesus and His relation to the One Holy Triune God. Seriously, have you run out of idiotic things to say? Sola Scripture = Idiots saying the interpreting the Bible to accomodate their own interests and comforts.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 No argument, Jesus IS the WORD. Obviously you cannot understand this because you don't know Jesus - i.e he does not live in your heart just as the Bible says. OK, another case for sola scriptura is 2 Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right." Notice the word ALL at the beginning. The word of God permeates life itself.
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine Why are you being so stupid....? Yes, I know Jesus is the Word, but how is that Word transmitted to us. Do you understand what I'm saying to you? do I need to go a little slower? John 1:1 has nothing to do with Scripture. It simply states that Jesus is the Word. Ok so He's the word, what does that have to do with how we learn about the Word? Do you see where I'm coming from Here? Protestants believe Scripture alone transmits the Word, Catholics believe the Church does. (cont.)
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@MrInseine Your statement about John 1:1 makes no sense here. And shut up already with the whole "you don't know Jesus" crap, you sound like some ignorant moron who knows nothing about theology. So Jesus is the Word, so what? All Christians believe this. And please, PLEASE look back and the comparison I made between Prots. and RCs on how we recieve the Word. Jesus is the Word, but He's not here right now is He? And please don't say some stupid crap like "because He's not in your heart.".
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 The use of phrases like" you sound like an ignorant moron" is not Christlike behaviour. Also please tell me of the Anglicans and Puritans who burnt Catholics at the stake for heresy?
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine My point is everyone has blood on their hands. We're humans, we do bad, and we're real good at it too.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 That does not give you licence to call me an idiot, moron ? does it.
If the bible advises us to think "everyone better than himself", then what does that make you, if you refer to me as such? Whereas I agree, we DO have blood on our hands you've not given me historical evidence of Anglicans or Puritans killing Catholics.
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine You say idiotic things and make moronic claims. And don't worry, every Christian group has done those kinds of things to opposing groups throughout history. Although I might have mistaken the Puritans for someone else, Puritan is usually used as a type of blanket term sometimes. But nevertheless, educate yourself in things like theology, literature, and history and you'll understand why your Protestants are so ridiculous.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 Have you ever consider that the Roman Catholic church may be iin error and that Jesus is using us to enlighten you? The problem I have is Purgatory, selling of indulgences, praying to saints, Infant baptism,Pilgrimage, Use of rosary, Transubstanciation, Process of martyrdom - none of which I can find in the bible. How is the Pope a DIRECT desendent of ST. Peter?
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine Who said all of God's revelation has to be in the Bible? Where did you all get this idea in the first place? The NT didn't even exist at one point. Put yourself in the shoes of a Christian in the year 38AD. Who is the authority? The Apostles and their leader, the personal representitive of Christ on Earth, Peter. And do you actually mean to tell me you actually think the current Pope is a BLOOD descendant of Peter??? Because if that what you think, then you are severly uneducated.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 Who said all of God's revelation has to be in the Bible? Jesus did - he would respond to the devil "it is written".
Where did you all get this idea in the first place? The Holy Spirit told me/us.
Yes we are forunate to have God's word in its entirity and have absolutely NO need for a representitive of Christ on Earth, Peter. "....by my spiri saith the Lord."
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine There was no Church back then and guess what, Jesus' entire ministry didn't come from Scripture. Before there was a NT, there was simply the things Jesus and His Apostles did. "It is written" has nothing to do with it. Oh and I'm sure the Holy Spirit told those whackos in the Episcopal Church that gay marriage is ok. I'm sure the Holy Spirit told some nut to go and start his own abortion approving church somewhere.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 "it is written" has everything to do with it. That's where your very mistaken my friend!
Furthermore, the Holy Spirit most certainly did not tell the episcopal church that gay marriage is okay – ask yourself, why would he, if the Bible expressly forbids it? The same thing with abortions, (though shalt not kill) which is expressly forbidden in the 10 Commandments. Jesus said that a tree will be known by its fruits.

@MrInseine And yet they claim to be inspired by the Holy Spirit, just like you.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@MrInseine And yes, we do need a vicar here on Earth to keep people like you from interpreting things the way you feel comfortable doing. We need someone to run the Church while we wait for Christ. You see, the Bible isn't an organic organization capable of handling contemporary issues. The Church is a gift, accept it. BTW little fun fact here, dispite having the Scriptures with him, the royal Ethiopian court official needed one of the Apostles to interpret it for him...
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 Please consider that you might be that Ethiopian official who needs a brother to give you some enlightenment! (Of course, you could say the same about me but be aware that one of us must be wrong.)
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine Neither you nor I are priests. Philip was a pirest to the Ethiopian who was a simple layperson.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 Except 1Peter 2:9 tells us that we are a royal priesthood
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine No........ Priests as in presbyters who are actually in charge of preforming the Christian rituals we know today as the Seven Holy Sacraments.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 So what you're saying is that there has to be a priest present to administer communion? What if two or three people are gathered together in the name of Christ and want to have communion – did they have to wait for a priest to come along or did they do as Jesus said: "whenever you eat this bread and drink this wine, do this in remembrance of me" he never mentions that a priest should be present.
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine Jesus is the priest at the Last Supper. And yes, this teaches us to rely on one another, to be a community, to make sure we don't all go our own way and start believing we don't need anybody to aid us. It teaches us to be humble.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@MrInseine The current Pope at any time is simply the successor of Peter through Apostolic Succession. In other words, after Peter, a new leader or "head bishop" was elected, and after his death, a new one, and then a new one, and so on and so forth until you get to our current vicar of Christ, Benedict XVI. Just like the direct lineage of presidents of the U.S.(sort of). And as for everything else you listed, I could give you a perfect explanation for each one of those things if you would like.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 Okay, thank you for taking the trouble to explain this to me! You could give me a perfect explanation of those things but only if they can be supported by the Bible.
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine I can only imagine you as a Jew in 35AD listening to the Apostles preach and telling them "show us where in the Hebrew Scriptures it says to accept three persons as one God and to accept the Messiah as God.". See where I'm coming from here. But nevertheless, all of this can be backed up by Scripture, for Sacred Scripture is a reflection of Sacred Tradition.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 Yes, I can accept your point, however, you must understand that I asked Jesus to come into my heart as Revelation 3:20 explains before I even looked at the Bible! It is only when I did this that the Bible made any sense to me.
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine And? Just because you found truth in the words of the Bible doesn't mean you all of a sudden have a right to do things your own way. You have to be obidient to the Church as early Christians were to the Apostles, the first bishops. Look how much chaos Christendom has gone through because of the Protestant revolution started by a disobidient monk.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 We have archbishops, bishops, Vicars, laymen etc all of whom we are obedient to. We are not wild children as you portray us to be.
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine Oh really? So who is your final authority then? Your Protestant leaders?
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 My final authority = God as revealed through his word.– After all is said and done, man is born into sin and is therefore fallible.
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine God makes the Pope infallible when speaking in Ex Cathedra which is the proclamation of dogmas. This way, you will never be taught a false doctrine. Jesus gave Peter the keys to Heaven. He intrusted His flock to Peter at the end of the Gospel of John.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 The Bible says: "no one is righteous (fallible), not even one" furthermore why has the Pope changed the dogma of the Deity of Jesus Christ to come into line with Islamic tradition?
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine ........................WHAT?! What the hell are you talking about?! What dogma about the "deity" of Jesus Christ? What the hell does Islamic tradition have anything to do with.... Anything?!?! Where are you getting this??? The devinity of Christ is the same as always; He is the Son of God and God the Son, second person of the Holy Trinity, the Messiah. Show me where you're getting this. The last dogmatic addition was in 1950; The Assumption of Mary.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 Just wait and see, the Roman Catholic Church will be welcoming Muslims, Jews, some Anglicans (liberals of course) and any other faith. This is the ecumenical movement and by saying that salvation through Jesus is not necessary, it is paving the way for the world church. This is all mentioned in Revelation.
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine Oh and rightious doesn't mean infallability. The Pope isn't kept from personal moral error, he's just kept from making an error when speaking Ex Cathedra, THAT'S ALL. The Pope sins jsut like any other man (thus he is not rightious), and man have we seen the sins a Pope is capable of, i.e. Peter denying Jesus (the first Pope for crying out loud...) But, he is kept from making doctrinal errors, i.e. Matthew 16:16, and so thus Jesus made him Pope - Matthew 16:18.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 So… Does ex-cathedra exclude writing books?
Furthermore, why isn't the Pope born-again if he proclaims to be a Christian? This begs the question are you born-again? Please explain your views on this subject.
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine And notice how Jesus says to him, "...and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it." meaning the Church will not be brought into error.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@samuellawless1 No it doesn't mean that. It means that the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Truly, truly, I say unto you that where there is a human being (we are all born into sin) there will be error. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine The Holy Spirit keeps the Pope from error when speaking in Ex Cathedra and defining dogmas. Jesus gave Peter the keys to Heaven. Oh and something I forgot to mention about "it is written", didn't you notice that Satan used Scripture against Jesus? It was the devil that first quoted Scripture. But it was Jesus who knew how to handle and interpret the Scriptures properly. The Jews used Scripture to justify stoning others, but then again "thou shalt not kill"... You need an interpreter..
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 This makes you sound like a 32nd degree Freemason.
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine I've met people with sick, twisted, self-interpretations of the Bible. Worshipping their own way. No order, no unity. All of Christendom is torn apart. Unitarians worshiping Jesus as another "god", Mormons (founded by a guy utterly confused by all the different denominations) believing in Polygamy, Christians accepting birthcontrol and homosexual marriage, destroying Gods purpose for sex. I've met couples who believe "swinging" isn't sinful at all as long as there's "consent".
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 I totally agree with you and yet I am still a Protestant because churches who do that kind of thing are in error.
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine And what makes you think you're not in error? How different are you from them. Thankfully you're one of the Prots. who are more or less in line with the teachings of Christ, but then again, you're interpreting the Bible on your own just like them.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 Well please explain this: why did Roman Catholic Church not allow the masses to be educated? – i.e. why did the priests speak in Latin throughout their services (and are still doing so in some cases) is it any wonder that Martin Luther brought about the Reformation which made the Bible available to the common man?
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine You're right, Martin Luther did have the right idea and I praise him for that, for wanting people to know the Word. That was a mistake the Church was making for many centuries. Thankfully now things are different and Mass is held in the vernacular thus bring people closer to the Gospel. But rather than being disobidient and creating his own church, Martin Luther should've tried to change the Church.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@MrInseine This chaos is proof God is not with you Protestants. Despite all the mistakes the RC has made, despite all the persecutions both endured and caused by the RC, it's overcome all of these trials and is still here taking care of Christs flock. The leaders of the RC, throughout history, made a lot of mistakes, but so has every other person! They're only human. And obviously they weren't doing what Jesus taught, but then again, the Israelites disobeyed God too, yet He kept His Covnenant.

@MrInseine Yes because the Church is so much worse than the even bigger group of non-believers in thsi world who lead God-less lives.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 I think you need to get to bed because you are not making sense!
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine And no, the church is not in error, not when it comes to doctrinal matters. It's made mistakes before, but it is divinely protected from error when it comes to the core dogmatic beliefs of Christianity.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 By this, do you mean that God gave you permission to torture to the point of death many people that dared to challenge the authority of the Pope? Did this divine protection allow priests to sexually abuse children?
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine Everyone has done these things. Aren't the Church leaders human? The only thing they're kept from is doctrinal error, other than that, they made the same mistake everyone else makes, including Protestants.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 Please explain what these doctrinal errrors are? and How God has protected you fom us?
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine I said protection from the destruction of the Church, not from you. Errors like anything that goes against the truth of God. Example: Teaching that there is no Hell. Wrong. The Pope would be kept from making such a proclamation.

stevesilvia 2 months ago
@stevesilvia Proof of what?
samuellawless1 2 months ago

MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine sounds clear to me....Salvation belongs to God, not what we decide....
stevesilvia 2 months ago
@stevesilvia Okay, I have re-read the statement and it is ambiguous. It implies that the Jews can be saved by a different way – i.e. by not accepting Jesus into their hearts. Notice that he does not mention how to be saved as the Bible states that there is no other way to be saved except by being born again. Maybe that is just why Protestants and Roman Catholics remain separate.
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine It simply states that we do not decide who is saved...
stevesilvia 2 months ago
@stevesilvia That's your interpretation/opinion. I still regard it as ambiguous. Allow me to ask you a question: how do you become a Christian? What makes you certain that you are a Christian?
Depending on your answer, might reveal why I think it is still ambiguous.
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine I don't think it's ambiguous. whats hard to understand? Salvation belongs to God alone. A simple definition of a Christian is a person who follows Jesus Christ. The Catholic Church teaches : John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"
stevesilvia 2 months ago
@stevesilvia That's far too simple… Anybody can claim that. I noticed that you did not answer my question "what makes you certain that you are a Christian?"
How how do the Catholic Church follow Christ's words to Nicodemus in John 3:3? "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Can you see the kingdom of God?
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine Jesus answered that question in John 3:5
stevesilvia 2 months ago
@stevesilvia With respect, Jesus answered that question in John 3:5-8. In other words he made it very clear to Nicodemus what the procedure was for being born again which is indeed a strange concept and yet millions of Christians have experienced this and found it to be true. We cannot understand why some people who say they are Christians cannot understand it. I think you need to study the full context of the Scripture.
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine Hebrews 11:5 "Because of faith Enoch was caught up and transferred to heaven, so that he did not have a glimpse of death;..." 2 Kings 2:11 "And Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven." I think you need to study the full context of the Scripture.....as you say
stevesilvia 2 months ago
@stevesilvia What are you on about? Am I supposed to be a mind reader? The only thing that I think you are alluding to is that Enoch did not die and Elijah went to Heaven in a whirlwind. I you trying to imply that because they enter the kingdom of God without meeting Jesus, that means anyone can without the need of being born again. If you consider that they were old Testament characters and the need to be born again was not necessary then (but faith was!) If you don't know, please ask.
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine I don't need to ask you for your interpretations....like I said, salvation belongs to God alone, who knows our hearts, and He decides who gets into heaven...
stevesilvia 2 months ago
@stevesilvia No you don't and that is your prerogative. However, you DO need to ask yourself if you want to believe the words of a fallible Pope and what he teaches OR what the Bible teaches?
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine What good is an infallible book, without an infallible interpreter? That is why Jesus gave Peter the "keys". All churches, religions, and bible fundamentals, Mormons, ect. all believe they "have " the interpretations from the Holy Spirit, yet each believe in different and opposing beliefs. Thus there lies your confussion, and fighting.... We still hold the Keys that Peter has passed on from Pope to Pope.
stevesilvia 2 months ago
@stevesilvia Your statement does not make any sense: what do you mean by ALL churches, religions? I can only assume that you mean Catholics and Muslims. Mormons are cults, as are Jehovah's Witnesses. In the main, Christian churches all agree to follow the fundamental teaching of Christ as written down in the Bible. This is something Catholics do not do! You have still not explained to me how to be born-again and why the Pope does not explain this to all the Catholics?
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine I never said anything about cults....thats your interpretation again. You missed the point.
stevesilvia 2 months ago
@stevesilvia You need to keep reading because in verse 9, Nicodemus asks Jesus if this can be done then Jesus explains in verse 10 that it Can. So therefore I will ask why is this not in the Catholic teaching? Now you can see why I can find the Pope's teaching to be ambiguous?
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine Oh and one more thing. Do you really expect me to believe that for nearly 1500 years the Church was in error and the world had been misled? Didn't Jesus say the Spirit would never abandon us? Seems to me that a Church like ours that has endured so much the last two millenium including its own mistakes it has commited has had God on her side this whole time, like the Jews of old, and we all know they were far worse, disobidient children, yet He never abandoned them.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 The only problem is that there were Christians – real Christians long before the Roman Catholic Church came into being. Some of them came over to England and formed the first church at Glastonbury. In fact the first Pope, Linus, was a Celtic prince or so some of our ancient writings tell us. Of course the Catholic Church has tried to destroy the evidence and claims that he came from Tuscany.
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine ..................The hell are you talking about?! The first Pope was Peter, the first bishop of Rome...
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 Sorry, I meant after Peter. Linus was the second Pope in 50 A.D.
MrInseine 2 months ago
@MrInseine Either that or Christianity was just a heretical flop for 1500 years, meaning Jesus lied to us and He was never really there to correct us. John 6:53, Matthew 26:26 He seems pretty serious about us eating His flesh in order to have life in us... But then again, the famously literal Protestants would kindly make an acception here, twisting the Scriptures to suit their own beliefs and say He was being merely "symbolic". How do you expect to be ressurrected if your body isn't nurished.
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 Just think, if you were sitting at the table when the last supper was held, when Jesus broke the bread and said "this is my body" and poured the wine and said "this is my blood" I'm sure even you would say he was not speaking literally? Otherwise it would be called cannibalism.
MrInseine 2 months ago

So what makes you think EVERYTHING is presented in Scripture?
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@MrInseine Excuse me, what I meant to say was, "The Bible, usually known as the Word.".
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@MrInseine Tim. 3:16 doesn't say a damned thing about SOLA Scripture. In fact, the tone of the writer says a lot: Scripture is USEFUL, but it's not the ONLY source of revealation. And the "All" simply says that all of it is inspired by God. "All Scripture is inspired by God..." Has nothing to do with the second part of the verse(which talks about teaching), that portion is meant to indicated the source of the Scripture, not its purpose. Do you even know anything about Scriptual study?
samuellawless1 2 months ago
@samuellawless1 NO I don't know anything - all I know is Jesus loves me and you! Is that sufficient?
