If you truly love someone then you will be able to see past those things. The fact of the matter is there will always be imperfections that we are constantly needing to give up to the Lord. You can't expect to be perfect before entering into a marriage and that's the same when it comes to God. He didn't expect us to be perfect when we entered into a relationship with Him.
Emotional baggage is a clue that the individual isn't mature enough to marry. You discussed before about putting up with the flaws of the other. But truly shouldn't those flaws been dealt with God before entering the relationship? I find it fascinating that a single person has the abundant life that Jesus came to give and then he/she gets married and is miserable having to carry baggage that he/she didn't come in with. I don't believe this is what God had in mind.
Great advice for a lot of singles today. Yes, "you" have to deal with your past disappointments, pains, and resentment. No one can fix you no matter how wonderful they are as a person.
Alot of us feel were ready when were really not, If you feel conviction when thinking about it thats the holy spirit letting us know we need patience and need to seek and trust in God then he will bring that person along when its his time. We must know God and know ourself before we get to know someone else.
