they're not the same.... there are blocks to lift the house and there are blocks to give other uses (example I've got sims2 H&M and i use them to build a catwalk)

Go into Neighbourhood Mode and open the cheat window (CTRL Shift C) and type in the following cheat..

boolprop allow45degreeangleofrotation true

Enter the cheat, enter your lot with or without Sims , select any item from Buy or Build Mode and press the , and . buttons to rotate that item! To turn off the cheat, do the exact same thing, only type 'false' instead of 'true' :D
