Great review Nut'n the Gryphon M-10 is out of my price range though. Any thoughts on the Spyderco Drop Point by Bill Moran? It can be had for under $70, has VG-10 steel, and fills roughly the same role. I'm seriously considering it.

Not got the traction plan, as nutnfancy would say.

You really cant beat the M-10, for the price, and the design, and the steel.

And his competitive options near the end of the vids are super helpful since he shows a bunch of other options close in function and/or price. Good luck, and why am I up so early?

Good review and I just bought the knife from the Cutlery Shoppe using my nunnfancy coupon codecI got free shipping! I disagree with u on the squared handle tip, though. The shape really helps with a reverse grip. I remember watching James Keating's old video on fighting with the M10. The handle angle really helps when you thrust with the RG.

Yeah, I don't see how people do bootknives. There's no way I could function through my day-to-day routine with a knife in my boot, way too uncomfortable and intrusive. I carry a fixed blade on me at all times, in vertical upside down carry. It keeps it out of the way and easily accessible for underhanded grip.

I like the Gryphon's utility and blade steel, but the handle makes me think of it as a steak knife. Weird huh? Just my mileage. Love the sheath too. Only thing to make it better would be a couple more holes for 550 cordage. I liked the Cold Steel Tanto the best of the bunch. Thanks Nutn, have a Merry.

(Toughness and ease of sharpening vs. rust resistance and edge holding.) I won't argue about the warranty and blade coating; but at the same time, DLC isn't just gonna peel off, and the M10's warranty is great even though it isn't unconditional like ESEE's. I'd say that they're both very good, but the M10 is more tactical and the ESEE more utilit

Love the old school table top. I would also compare this knife to the Spyderco Bill Moran. It is one of the only other fixed blade options with vg-10 steel and a pretty good sheath. It can be found online for almost half the price of the m-10 too. Gots to love the value! Now if only they made the Spyderco Fred Perrin again; my all-time favorite smaller fixed blade! I would never sell mine!

Another nice video. I`m in the market for a small fixes blade EDC and this seems to fit quite well. Also easy to transfer to LBE blade as well. Will need to keep my eyes open for one of these (being in Europe does not help :).
