i thought my chin was overweight too because she kind of puffed out like that, but when you actually get ahold of one of these animals, they are pretty boney a lot of times. i think that their fur is so thick that it makes them look pudgy. this is not a fat chinchilla. and it is really, really damn adorable, as a note. :D

Uh-Ohh! Looks like somebody didn't want to be bothered! (That's the "Imma pee on you!" dance. Mother chinchillas use it to chase away unwelcome guests and break up fights between kits... or just when they're cranky. Boys will stomp sometimes, but don't usually spray as well as the girls. Aiming is hard, apparently. :) )
