It really depends on the amount of the overbite. Treating severe overbite with Invisalign is one of the challenging tasks. I have treated mild to moderate overbite cases just with Invisalign, however I would recommend conventional braces for severe cases. Orthodontic evaluation is necessary inorder to recommend the appropriate treatment option. I hope this answers your question.
i live in NYC, and i am wondering..if insurance will cover for invisalign or any sort of braces at all? I have horrible buckteeth.. i want to fix it, and my parents want to fix it for me so bad, but they just cant..because of the money..
Yes absolutely.....If your case qualifies for Invisalign Express (which is a five month treatment), then yes the cost will be much less that Invisalign Full. I hope I answered your question.
A lot of people have been telling me that with my case, no one will consider me a candidate for invisalign. Yet I look at these pictures and other pictures on the internet...and I ask myself, "Why not? Mine look similar to those." I know Invisalign will not fix my ratio of top jaw vs. bottom jaw alignment. I'm fine with that...mine is barely noticeable anyway. I just want straight teeth. My other ortho wouldn't put braces on without jaw surgery. Would my case be possible for Invisalign?
My issue, moreso, is with the large gaps that the missing teeth present...and some of the teeth are a bit crooked. I've looked at some of these pictures and some of the people's cases look similar, if not much worse than mine. Yet the crazy ortho that I went to wanted me to have a $50,000 jaw surgery, stay out of work for a month, in the hospital for a week, etc. I'm consulting with a local dental center to see if I can get invisaligh. I know it won't fix the jaw - but I want straight teeth.
I am missing #7 and #10 teeth congenitally. I am also missing #24 and #25 teeth congenitally, and my present teeth in place of #24 and #25 are still the original baby teeth and they are of course much smaller and look out of place. I am 27 years old.
I have what an ortho claimed to be a class 3 malocclusion...what he called a cross-bite, where my upper teeth are behind my lower teeth. To me, my lower jaw looks to be about 2mm or so 'out' further than the top jaw. I'm fine with this.
i have another question, how important is bracket placement? what can happen if they place the bracket too high or too low on a tooth? i have noticed that my right incisor is lower then my left incisor now, before it was the opposite. it is not really noticeable but i can notice it because i take pictures after every adjustments.
hey i'm curious, what is your position on having teeth extracted on patients to make room for teeth. have you heard of the negative effects of having teeth pulled and using retractive headgear?
I am very conservative when it comes to extracting any teeth. I have had cases where patient had gone to another dentist and the dentist has recommended extracting teeth. But we were able to complete the treatment without removing any teeth. As I mentioned before, every case is different and therefore the diagnosis will be different. I personally do not do traditional braces or headgears and my expertise is in scope of Invisalign only.
hi, i have traditional braces and i was wondering if my orthodontist is going to give me a wider arch or a broader smile? can traditional braces at the age of 23 give you a wider arch? because my very back molars are wider apart from the rest of my teeth and molars. Can invisalign give you a wider arch incase traditional can't?
Thanks for your question. I do a lot of arch expansions with Invisalign. However, it all depends on how much expansion is involved in the treatment. For example, if your molars are in crossbite, I would definitely correct that with traditional braces. I have personally done lots of arch expansions with Invisalign, with premolars in crossbite. There are cases where the treatment is completed using both traditional braces and Invisalign. I hope I answered your question.
Thanks for your question. Invisalign treament can take anywhere from 5 months to 24 months. The length of the treatment all depends on the severety of the case.
I have always hated my teeth, & i didnt want all the troubles of braces. So i got invisalign! So far it has been great, & i hope my teeth come out beautiful :)
That is wonderful. Keep up the good work and it will happen. Just make sure to wear the retainers after the treatment is done. Thanks for your comment.
I value your opinion, however with my experience with Invisalign for the last 5 years, I am convinced that in most cases, the patients benefit more from it than conventional braces. It is less aggressive, comfortable, and really works. I am positive that with all the technological advancements, no one will do metal braces in the future. There have been tremendous improvements in Invisalign which allows us to do a lot more complicated cases, which we werent able to do in the past. Thanks
