  • Finally, a reunion is happening <3

  • This is seriously one of the best bands of all time

  • just one reunion show.. one more.

  • @cooliodude14 pleased ?

  • @cooliodude14 I've been wanting the same for over a decade... finally!

  • This video just had sex with my ears.

  • this is CUMTASTIC!!!!

  • link for a proper download of the whole show pls?

  • Реинкарнации Варламова

  • The 2001: A Space Odyssey intro = badass

  • If theres one thing Ive figured out from watching so many ATDI videos, its that there is no real way to capture what they did on video. This song needs to be played loud as fuck and it needs to be chaotic and sporatic because thats what ATDI did and only the people that saw them live can ever say they really experienced at the drive in for what they were. a solid motherfucking live band that put on one of the greatest shows rock and roll has ever seen.

  • asking them to join reunite is basically saying you dont know the inner workings of the band have you thought about Sparta ? maybe they dislike each other and asking to have people reunite that dont like each other for your benefit damm thats pretty selfish and The Mars Volta cant be compared to the ATDI totally different musical aspects !

  • @klexstar nah man its selfish for them, not the fans. you made this music for everyone to enjoy, you complain that the masses listen to bullshit and then you want to steal it from us? they are all wealthy, better off than most of their fans. would it be so bad for them to put aside their differences and play a damn tour? thats all anyone wants. they dont need to put out new albums, atleast just play some shows. and they have been working out their differences cedrics said hes apologized

  • @klexstar this guy knows wtf hes talking about

  • @klexstar pssst. guess what.

  • 1:49 EPIC PART

  • there are no words...

  • Honestly, I know Cedric and Omar don't want to perform as At The Drive-In anymore, but maybe they should think about their fans. How many of us would love to see them live? Just once? I mean, sh!t!!! They broke up when I was seven!

  • 1:49 ... ! My laptop screen shattered.

  • ATDI def blows the mars volta away, the combo of cedric and omar with jum ward cannot be touched, not that i dont like the mars volta, but this band was legendary and kinda completly changed music in my opinion!

  • check out treeburning

  • Se zarpan.

  • Damn am i the only one who thinks that atdi blows the mars volta away? I mean besides having one of the most insane musicians, Thomas Pridgen, on the drums the mars volta is "ok" at best compared 2 what this was...wow.

  • 1:16 to 1:17 cicatriz esp bass riff..sick vid

  • this seems like a performance where their just like we are gunna perform as well as we can..but the show still shows a lot of heart

  • repeat...repeat...REPEAT.REPEAT. FUCKING REPEAT

  • similar to Fugazi

  • @malyfromhell74FUCKING BETTER (L)

  • I find most Nirvana boring though, that's just me

  • There's also not countless bands with raw talent and true passion, but hell, I wish there was, why wouldn't I you know? If that was the case the good music would be easier to find. haha

    Take it easy.

  • I see a lot of Fugazi influence. The way the singers work together, the stage movement, the funky basslines, and raw guitar sound. I see more hardcore influence than Nirvana. Who cares really. I like this video a lot.

  • @ChonnyChimole Hence the reason this style of music is generally referred to as Post-Hardcore, a genre pioneered by bands such as The Minutemen and Flipper and later taken to new extremes by Fugazi and Unwound.

  • nirvana isnt progression idiot....

  • @mna2012 Yeah nirvana progressed music.

  • same question as gshiori

  • STICAZZZZZIIIIIIIIII

  • holy crap that's the error message for HAL9000 :D i just saw the movie..don't bash me please

  • he must have robbed them of their cock?hahahah

  • Relationship of command has to be up there in the top albums ever made.

  • good charlotte. hedley. take, notes.

  • woah, what a performance!

  • ATDI Drummer #FTW

  • stop drama and ejoy music ^_^

  • One of the best suited songs for cedrics vocal style, Amazing.

  • the biggest crime in rock history, was the break up of this band. we will never know where these guys were headed, and it saddens me deeply. maybe they will be playing live, when i get to hellven!

  • anyone know what the tatoo on his right forearm looks like? the one that goes all the way around. i was thinking of getting that one

  • The Intro is so fucking great ;D

  • i remember buying a cassette tape of 'relationship of command' back in 2001 and being blown to outer space with ATD-I's sonic attack. to this day, i can't comprehend the sheer passion and talent these guys had. and to this day, their songs still blow me to outer space... oh well, reminiscing the good ole' days...

  • im sooo getting that atom tattoo

  • if there was shit like this still being pumped out I'd hold a little hope for the mainstream hardcore genre, but ffs all it is is whiney faggots and autotune these days. Kinda sad, this was some genuinely awesome stuff.

  • @chrisjeffsmusic Too true, fucking fags anger me man, I wanna know wtf happened to the post punk, hardcore genre, shit man tha t raw passion that i hear through atdi is legendary

  • Makes me wanna punch someone

  • The drummer and the bassist rule. They all fucking rule. I miss this band

  • THIS TURNS ME ON!!! YEEEAH!!!! More energy than a human being can bear is in this song.

  • alittle punk mixed with some salsa and you get this.

  • THE BESTS!!!!

  • lol'd at Cedric's voice crack in the beginning. I like it tho! i like all cedric's performances, the occassional mistakes actually sound pretty cool to me. guess im just weird like that.

  • @NAIVADA T'as tout dit. Rien à ajouter

  • best song ever

  • Comment removed

  • yeah this is amazing..this song never gets old!

  • This is back when Channel V was actually good.

  • This the most calm i've seen at the drive-in be in an intense song haha. I love em.

  • alittle Salsa, throwin alittle punk and you get this.

  • I love rock music man so much energy

  • FUCK! That Kicks So Much Ass! Oh The Rockness!

  • I would give my left nut to see these guys live.

  • @dumbjolly I would give both.

  • It just doesn't get anymore perfect than this.....

  • Jim Ward is is Welsh they put all their orgin flags on the album

  • omg im cuming...

  • Why does one of them have a welsh flag on their guitar?

  • @aaronclyro coz jim got welsh origin i think

  • i love the bass hehe dum dum dum duh dum! and then everything kicks in awesome band

  • Beware!!!!

  • holy shit, does atdi have a dvd out and is that performance on it?

  • nope this is just some performance for some tv show. it'd be awesome if they did though.

  • @gshiori i'm pretty sure there is some kind of documentary, made around the same time as their new compilation album This Station is non-operational, but this isn't it.

  • @gshiori This is from Channel V. It's an Australian music tv channel.

  • @gshiori This is a tv set they did in Australia, i doubt it. Australia was the last leg of their first world tour and they broke up straight after it - us Aussies were VERY lucky to see them at their best, just before they broke up.

  • @gshiori i made my own dvd of there shows.

  • @WillKill4Weed dude mail me a copy!!

  • @gshiori dvds werent really around when they were still a band

  • @Tobensdude actually, DVDs came out in 1999.

  • great song, great fx

  • the AE-35 unit is in perfect working order.

  • Great find! Didnt know this existed. The Channel V performances are amazing for really clean sound, and controlling the chaos long enough to get hella tight takes. "Quarantined" from this session is my favorite ATDI thing on Youtube.

  • yeah man it owns

  • they hated each other at this point. but this is a good performance.

  • well, they're friends again....

  • 1:53 just wow cedric is epic here

reminded me why these guys are my heroes

i know it will never happen but id play big cash to see theses guys live

  • Comment removed

  • Agreed man, Agreed!

  • i want an audio download of this, does anyone know where can i find this?

  • Yep

  • The BDO performance tops this.

  • 1:49 amazing

  • this is my favourite atdi´s song, and this performance makes it even better

  • UPROAR EAST!!! - STRIKE WEST!!!

    MOFO!

  • 1:50

  • This IS musical progression. Like Nirvana before them and like countless progressive rock/punk rock acts before THEM. Raw passion, true talent.

Music has fallen comatose again. The Mars Volta have come close to awakening it again, but it's not the same revolutionary vibe as ATD-I or Nirvana brought forth.

    TL;DR: Fucking awesome.

  • I just like music. I'm sorry you can't be as open with your emotions, you'll probably bottle yours up to the point where a cardiovascular disease develops and you die prematurely, leaving behind many people.

    Pity.

  • I find that the longer TMV goes on making music, the more I get frustrated with them. When they're good, they're simply incredible.

But when they're off, they're inane, pseudo-jazz wankery. Omar seems convinced that in order to be a decent prog band you have to create meandering soundscapes that dont go anywhere and Cedric's lyrical style seems to have transitioned from cryptic and metaphoric to outright obscurantist.

Breaks my heart to think such things. =[

  • glad to hear im not the only one whose figured that out

i didnt even bother buying anything after frances, unlike ATDI they just got worse with time, not better

  • nah amputechture's alrite, ain't heard the new one

but i really don't like bedlam (cept for ouroboros)

  • Dude, I feel EXACTLY the same way. Deloused was epic but I lost interest after that. ATDI is timeless to me, one of the only bands I come back to again and again.

  • what..?

Deloused isnt even their best album..

  • Eh, its just the way I feel. I kinda lost interest as their albums became more and more structured. Just an opinion.

  • ha,well what kind of music you listen to?

  • radiohead, black keys and benevento/russo duo. and of course ATDI. Those are just what have I have been stuck on lately. aside from at the drive in, been listenin to them consistently since 2002

  • I couldnt agree with you more.

  • @xXxFatalErrorxXx you made a fatal error oh the fucking irony! atdi are a rock n roll band

  • @xXxFatalErrorxXx mmm i think is more revolutionary, a lot more.. I love at the drive in and mars volta, but i have to say mars volta is something different,

  • @xXxFatalErrorxXx I Agree/Disagree... I think ATdi had something special, TMV lost the way, went somewhere else. Atdi was threatening to take it to the next level (In a rock, punk kinda way) TMV for me, is good and all but went prog rock, and that only serves prog rock, it doesn't help the rest of the music, is prog psicodelia all over again. ATdi was threatening to change it like punk did in the late 70's

  • @freymaroto I disagree, I think that in TMV like in most progressive rock bands they´ve experimented and created more stuff, and by doing that they are helping all music to evolution.

But I also think it´s true that AtDI had a more hard-core changing feeling in it.

    I love both bands.

  • @freymaroto I don't understand why everyone thinks ATDI "had something special" they're good but Cassandra Gemini is a 35 minute long song in the era of 4 minute songs. And i'm not talking verse chorus 30 minute guitar solo chorus. It's an immensely complex composition. THAT is something special. To sell 500,000 copies of an album with a half hour long song is fuckin history making. And it isn't just prog psychedelia all over again. There are plenty of very unique influences not familiar to prog

  • @freymaroto

deloused in the comatorrium took it very farin my opinion

  • @xXxFatalErrorxXx nirvana? i think you want to say something like drive like jehu or fugazi for example

  • @shesaidpurr Spot on, i was lucky enough to see both those bands live too.

  • Best band of all time.

  • This is god.

  • god himself

  • I got into ATDI in 2000 when I was about 16 and they were a huge influence on me because the first song I learned on bass was One Armed Scissor, then they broke up shortly after.

  • So it's your fault.... jkin.

  • Niceeee 666

  • That was actually a very good performance!

  • See i wish these guys would go back to making music... but i love the mars volta so much at the same time... boy i wish i was born in the 80's so i could have been old enough to enjoy the 90's properly.. i only found out what music was just before the end of this century.. but by then it was all too late....

  • Same :(

  • if ony they could. withj ward being dead and all.. It was such a shame when they split, the day I heard about it i honestly cried out loud

  • me too...i really felt like true raw music once again went back to sleep.

  • are you talking about Jim Or Jeremy?Cause Jim is still alive but they will never get back together

  • yea thats what i was thnking lol

  • This is one of ATDI's best performances hands down. The amount of energy is just astounding, while sounding amazing.

  • I like the BDO performance more.

    Great song, still.

  • yeah Bixler Zavala and Rodriguez Lopez started The Mars Volta thats why they kinda sound alike i kinda like At The Drive in better the Mars Volta lol

  • i dont know why but these guys remind me of mars volta hahahah

    love em

  • That's because half of them ARE The Mars Volta. Yep, Cedric, Omar, and Paul that is.

  • wow i had no idea :x

and ive been listening to them for like over a year.

  • Wiki helps.

  • AWSOMEEE 2001

  • Too bad, in 2001 I was 12 and thought Bon Jovi was cool.

  • hahahahaha most epick comment ever!!:D

    same story with me lol

  • In 2001 I was 7!

  • "preliminary findings indicate that your on-board 9000 computer is in error predicting the fault." <3 2001!

  • Why this band had to split up, I'll never know why.

  • omar and cedric didn't want to keep remaking Relationship is why.

  • I heard it had something to do with their drugs use too... but that's just hearsay in my ears.

  • If anybody does drugs it affects there music in some way or another. Anything you do in life effects the kind of creativity you have.

  • word

  • completely amazing

  • Chilliest Intro to a ATDI performance...

i would give everything i have and then some

to see them reunite just to play the way they did... literally, my ALL time favorite

    band.... Period.

  • You know your a musical mastermind when this kind of music is BORING for you

jesus christ this band was and is amazing.... i would not want to see a reunion of these guys.... but more of a reformation for a new album...

they broke up right as i was planning to see them on their last tour.... they just cut it off.... what a bummer.... this shit live would have had me going nuts

  • Lastima que nunca vi a At The Drive-In en vivo, la mejor banda sin duda

  • Intro is from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

    These guys are cool.

  • It's got a serious impact

  • intro is fantastic

  • this is great.i love this song more then any other, but i think mars volta is better though it is hard to distugish, there so good

  • 1:49 to 1:53, gets me everytime

  • When the drums come in. It slows down alot. I don't think it's like that on the record. But who am i to diss...

  • Very awesome.....BUT! This proves that ATD-I plays much better when they're actually rocking out and feeling the music instead of being stuck put. ;]

  • I love that, in the beginning, Omar is loose and carefree enough to adjust his pedals... Their live performances were so active and alive rather than scripted.

  • the drumming is friken awsome ALONG with BASS!!!

  • im wierd i like them and marrs volta equally <3

  • Well, I got into them because I got into The Mars Volta first.

Didn't quite like them in the first couple of months, thinking they're a bit too noisy and because a (Brit-)pop-orien
