I love Tim Vine! So few comedians these days are able put a first-rate act together without foul language and so-called 'adult' (i.e. offensive) humour. Tim Vine's material is pure genius. Only Tommy Cooper in living memory, along with Tim, could make a hilarious routine out of such a surreal mundane act of putting a pen behind the ear - yet it works and is incredibly funny.

I think Stewart Lee was right about using repetition beyond the logical point at which something should stop being funny. Then the humour is derived from the perceived arrogance of the performer just mercilessly continuing with the same thing over and over. Tim Vine is one of the few people that can make that work.
