  • 3 people like to stick pineapples in their anus holes every weekend,

  • This looks pretty sweet. Though the weapons (especially Hauer's double crossbow and huge serrated sword) look a bit odd, and some helmets as well, I do think this would be a pretty sweet movie. :P

  • Evil, corrupt Bishop and the evil Captain of the Guard wear white and gold, and Navarre is The Hero and wears black and red. Perfect exemple that red and black aren't ''evil'' colours, that's a primitive supestition.

Fine and original idea, the Bishop asked the Devil to curse the lovers.

The movie has amazing music of 1980'.

  • Rutger Hauer plays Navarre and Michelle Pfeiffer plays Isabeau d'Anjou. The best roles of both actors. Matthew Broderick plays Philippe Gaston, "The Mouse" thief and friend of Navarre.

Richard Donner, the director did a wonderful movie.

  • Ladyhawke is amazing movie. Navarre is a black knight who loves Isabeau d'Anjou. She was cursed by evil perverted Bisho .

By day Isabeau becomes a hawk, by night Navarre becomes a black wolf. Neither has any memory of their half-life in animal form.

During the "a day without a night and a night without a day",when the lovers stand together in human form before the Bishop, the curse will be broken.

Navarre kills the evil Bishop and is reunited with Isabeau, both in fully human forms again.

  • I don't think the creators of this commercial knew what cliches were. The narration sounds so completely detached, it's as if it was made before they could conceivably be worn out.

"He was the last one in the world... to act like a hero... it just happened... by itself..."

  • They sure knew how to make trailers in the eighties. Great stuff!

  • the fkn eletronic music kills this film

  • "Walk on the LEFT side!"

  • ah, classical film :)

  • "I talk to God all the time, and no offense but he never mentioned you." :P

  • don't forget by talking about the..."special "80's synth-music: this was totally up to date in the 80's, new and expensive too. maybe in 20 years we all will be ashamed of the 2011's movies, looking like spectacular video-clips where every movie has it's own trailer song depending on which song was rated high in the charts at this moment.

  • 0 dislikes? there's hope for mankind as of yet!

  • @unwanteduser22 Not anymore. Life sucks.

  • I bet this would rock in DOLBY STEREO on DVD I forget which is it Dolby 4.0 or 4.1 on DVD?

  • is is a good movie? i want to watch it...

  • @EvitaLovely

with the exception of the soundtrack which eventually grows on you the film is awesome. rutger hauer steals the show as the cursed black knight and the final fight it wonderfully epic. :)

  • @EvitaLovely I think it's a gorgeous film; it's funny but also bittersweet at times. I was a little shocked at the soundtrack, but like others have said, you get used to it. :)

  • pause at 0:59 iw onder who wins :P

  • This movie has the WORST soundtrack ever. It totally DESTROYS the film.

  • @MarcoGV I TOTALLY AGREE.

  • @MarcoGV I totally DISagree.

  • @MarcoGV

TOTALLY agree. I tried watching this film for the first time today, and eventhough i love fantasy movies like that, and love Hauer and Michelle, i was completely put off by the stupid music... i just couldn't take it any more. Ruined everything.

PS: I didn't like Broderick either.

  • @weeladybug Yeah but medieval fantasies with fully orchestrated musical scores with a faux Irish twist including possibly a track by Enya over the closing credits, has for me become equally boring, tired ...and inapropriate. I look back on Ladyhawke and think the soundtrack is unique.

  • @Paul07791 surely it's unique, but that doesn't make it any good at all. I wouldn't expect them to use faux irish music necessarily as you said, but some classical instruments would be more appropriate than this 80's videogame-style music. I believe a good score should make the viewer sink deeper into the film, rather than completely distract you. I just couldn't feel the emotion. Unlike Flesh+Blood, my favorite medieval film of that year.

  • @weeladybug I suppose you're right, but I think the soundtrack is an acknowledgment that this is a fantasy - medieval movie; a sign that the makers were fully aware and decided to add ethereal synth sounds, which in the 80's were pretty new by mainstream standards. I mean no-one would want to remove Tangerine Dream's synth score from from The Neverending Story or Legend (oh wait they DID do that and swapped it for a classical Jerry Goldsmith score doh!). Like I said, understood, personal taste

  • @Paul07791 I've never seen the neverending story... or maybe i never finished watching... dunno XD but yes agreed, most things in arts are a matter of personal taste, films and music included of course. Nice talking to you :)

  • @weeladybug Never finished watching the neverending story! haha if that was a joke, it was very droll.

  • I always loved this movie because my name is Isabeau too
