The Father may be terrifying and heartbreaking in this episode, although honestly I think it's a realistic portrayal of marriage and the sometimes downs of midlife versus the smiley, kiss-in-the-morning "Au revoir, dahling" that happens in every other episode.

I just don't understand why everyone is so keen on adam, despite the things he does to her in the second series. He basically acts like a sterotypical guy with no concern for anything but sex.
