Also, at the time Bella was conversing with James, Alice was pretty tuned out because she was focusing on her vision.

Also, keep in mind that Alice was busy searching the future. That's all she does in a lot of these situations is sit quiet and search, she tunes out anything else.

Yeah. Do we want to point out all the rest of the errors and problems with Stephenie Meyer's "books?" Because there's a shit load. The reason you noticed this error, is because Stephenie Meyer makes it all up as she goes. There is no planning. It does not all match up. Just don't try to make sense of it, because there is no sense, or logic. (OR plot or character development, which are *kinda* key things for literature to include.)

Also, another error I noticed that bugged the crap outta me is that in Twilight, Bella asked Edward about marraige, and asked him if it was possible for them someday, and then later in the series, Bella doesn't want to get married. Also, through the whole series, Edward doesn't want Bella to become a vampire, and in BD he says "I am missing absolutely nothing." Just thought I'd point those out 'cause they bug me.
@narutoluva2 yes, Bella wanted to marry him, but not when she was that young because she though her mom would frown apon it. She was so against it because she was so young. Also Edward didn't want her to be a vampire because he thought it would be selfish of him to risk her soul. But once it was too late and she was a vampire, there was no reason for him not to want her to be like him. :)

@KBFern well, he did say he's have to go throw up the pizza in the book. As far as the pee thing...we only have to pee because of waste or what our bodies don't need. I doubt they don't need some of the blood they drink. As far as the sperm vs. tears thing...I would say he has sperm cause men are born with a set number of sperm so maybe when he change they just change into super sperm or something but when a person cries they have to produce fluid from water in their body that vamps no don't hav

It took you all the way to Breaking Dawn to realize that? Meyer mentions how super awesome their hearing is plenty of times. So even if Alice is in the other room, James' voice should be like someone yelling right next to hear. It hard to block out that kind of thing.

At that time Bella was a newly changed vampire, while alice and jasper have been vamps for ages. So she has super vamphearing instead of normal vamp hearing.
bella got different powers, she was stronger than any of the other vampires, physically and mentally, espically because she is a newborn and because she was able to block mental powers, that improves her other senses too
my answer would be that first of all alice was not focussing enough on bella conversation because she wanted to give her privacy with her mother and second of all bella was a bran new vampire even if if it didnt seem like it so all of her senses are much stronger plus she actually wanted to her both sides and not try to block it out.
On the phone call thingy James calls and puts on a home-made vid they kept at her home in Pheonix of Renee calling for Bella in the dance studio BC she can't find her but it's not really her mom but it's just a video tht James found so she thought it was her mom so she left the room to talk to "her" and found out tht James was on the phone.so James never talked to her until Jasper and Alice were out of hearing-range
not an error its called being polite. Even if it could help bella to have eavesdropped. I think Alice did that to show she respects her privacy and was showing that she is trust worthy.
its not an error jasper wasn't i the room he was checking out from the hotel and alice was involved in her visions and she was having it thats why when bella comes out of the room alice is like having a vision and jasper walks in all like holy crap! but alice never says what she saw. so i dont think its an error and maybe she knew but let her go because she saved her anyways. besides newborns have better hearing that 100 year old ones for a little bit.

its not an error. Bella was a new born in Breaking Dawn so her senses (in addition to her strgenth) were heightened. She was also still testing the limits of her new 'power'
i think because her "frequency" was on future james -not current james... and he randomly decided to call; she only knew that the "something" he did had to do with a ballet studio. he could have sent a postcard or sent a messenger but he just decided to call... and maybe they werent paying a whole lot of attention to bella because they figured she was in good hands and she wouldnt do anything to jeopardize it. so really i think bella agreeing to the conversation made it a lot more "invisible"
i dont think its an error. i think when alice and jasper have to be around humans they try to block out some of their senses so they dont accidentally read too muc into people and freak them out or invade their privacy. kinda like how edward learns to ignore voices so he dosnt answer peoples most inner thoughts. and also alice was concentrating very hard on her visions and jasper was concentrating very hard on her so i think given the circumstances it could have been easily missed.
@superlativedepree It should count as an error because Alice should have had a vision as soon as Bella decided she was going to try and save her mom. Also, Jasper should have noticed that she was scared. Smeyer fails.
actually, the vampires are also able to lower their voice enough so others cant hear it^^ maybe James was prepared for other vampires being in the room and used his voice in a way that alice couldnt hear..who knows^^

hey, the author wrote the books that way to keep you guessing as to if they could hear james or not. remember nothing about bella (after her transformation) is as a normal vampire. first off she didnt devour the humans when she caught their scent on her first hunt, instead she stopped and turned to face edward when she realized that she was being followed so taking that into account maybe she has better hearing then normal vampires. did you think about that?

If you think about it, Alice would have heard Bella talking on the phone to james, (pretending to be talking to her mum) and alice could've heard james BUT she might have thought that Bella's mum just had a very deep voice lol :)

At that time Bella was a newly changed vampire, while alice and jasper have been vamps for ages. So she has super vamphearing instead of normal vamp hearing.

bella got different powers, she was stronger than any of the other vampires, physically and mentally, espically because she is a newborn and because she was able to block mental powers, that improves her other senses too

my answer would be that first of all alice was not focussing enough on bella conversation because she wanted to give her privacy with her mother and second of all bella was a bran new vampire even if if it didnt seem like it so all of her senses are much stronger plus she actually wanted to her both sides and not try to block it out.

On the phone call thingy James calls and puts on a home-made vid they kept at her home in Pheonix of Renee calling for Bella in the dance studio BC she can't find her but it's not really her mom but it's just a video tht James found so she thought it was her mom so she left the room to talk to "her" and found out tht James was on the phone.so James never talked to her until Jasper and Alice were out of hearing-range

its not an error jasper wasn't i the room he was checking out from the hotel and alice was involved in her visions and she was having it thats why when bella comes out of the room alice is like having a vision and jasper walks in all like holy crap! but alice never says what she saw. so i dont think its an error and maybe she knew but let her go because she saved her anyways. besides newborns have better hearing that 100 year old ones for a little bit.

its not an error. Bella was a new born in Breaking Dawn so her senses (in addition to her strgenth) were heightened. She was also still testing the limits of her new 'power'

i think because her "frequency" was on future james -not current james... and he randomly decided to call; she only knew that the "something" he did had to do with a ballet studio. he could have sent a postcard or sent a messenger but he just decided to call... and maybe they werent paying a whole lot of attention to bella because they figured she was in good hands and she wouldnt do anything to jeopardize it. so really i think bella agreeing to the conversation made it a lot more "invisible"

i dont think its an error. i think when alice and jasper have to be around humans they try to block out some of their senses so they dont accidentally read too muc into people and freak them out or invade their privacy. kinda like how edward learns to ignore voices so he dosnt answer peoples most inner thoughts. and also alice was concentrating very hard on her visions and jasper was concentrating very hard on her so i think given the circumstances it could have been easily missed.

actually, the vampires are also able to lower their voice enough so others cant hear it^^ maybe James was prepared for other vampires being in the room and used his voice in a way that alice couldnt hear..who knows^^

hey, the author wrote the books that way to keep you guessing as to if they could hear james or not. remember nothing about bella (after her transformation) is as a normal vampire. first off she didnt devour the humans when she caught their scent on her first hunt, instead she stopped and turned to face edward when she realized that she was being followed so taking that into account maybe she has better hearing then normal vampires. did you think about that?

I noticed it to. I don't know if it's been pointed out or not, but keep in mind that Bella is a newborn vampire. Meaning she has better hearing than Alice. I just thought i'd point that out since it seems everyone forgot. But you have a good memory :)

Alice was figuring out what to do. Ahe wasn't paying attention. James was also being very quiet. Alice heard her 'pretending' to talk to her mom, so, she thought nothing of it.

No. Because, Bella was a newborn and her powers were intensified. I'm sure Alice probably COULD have heard James' voice on the phone, but maybe she was preoccupied. Maybe her thoughts we're otherwise directed, y'know? And I think that Max doesn't really have a NICE job. So he probably can't get a newer phone, and older cellulars tend to be louder. Sorry, I wasn't trying to make you look stupid. plus Edward wasn't preparded for Bella's scent so he wasn't going to hold his breath for no reason. And when she bleeds, again they weren't ready for it and the scent had already started to overpower them and let their instincts kick in. Gosh, just trying to point things out so people know why it's like that.
