I do not understand how the lyrics being printed are considered spam. Would someone please explain. And, yet if people print an awful or negative comment about a song it is not considered spam. Go figure.
I echo the sentiment! It no wonder that quality of Paul's poetry has been compared with none other than TS Eliot! Thankyou Paul Simon for blessing us with such great poetry and music!!
In early memory/ Mission music/ Was ringing 'round my nursery door/ I said take this child, Lord,/ From Tucson, Arizona,/ Give her the wings to fly through harmony/ And she won't bother you no more./ This is the story of how we begin to remember/ This is the powerful pulsing of love in the vein/ After the dream of falling and calling your name out/ These are the roots of rhythm/ And the roots of rhythm remain/
Joseph's face was black as night/ The pale yellow moon shone in his eyes/ His path was marked/ By the stars in the southern hemisphere/ And he walked his days/ Under African skies/ This is the story of how we begin to remember/ This is the powerful pulsing of love in the vein/ After the dream of falling and calling your name out/ These are the roots of rhythm/ And the roots of rhythm remain
@enricofusione that's just like...your opinion man. I'll take Duke Ellington for songwriter, and maybe Bob Marley for lyrics. I do love Paul Simon though, he does kick serious ass!

I would like to recommend the book 'A Concise Guide To Eighties Music' by Karl Vorderman. The author is a big fan of this track.

You let the entire song play to the very end, even until the ride cymbal faded. Impressive. Most impressive.

@selatik1 that's the only way it was possible to listen to I thought.
