Culture Club just isn't Culture Club without Boy George. Sam can sing, but it just doesn't sound right someone else singing those songs, unless they are a Culture Club cover band. If they really wanted the money they shouldve thought of it and made sure they will be a brand new band OUTSIDE THE SHADOWS OF BG. They just cant do it because Georgie works with so much perfection that made Culture Club what it is.
Those songs are very personal to Georgie, and the only way you can sing a song well is when it is dear to your heart.
It's a pretty big shoe to fill in. Not just because George is a legend but because the way Sam sang the songs are not from the heart.. Good voice though.
If he wanted to become SAM of the REBORN CC, he should write songs for the new CC and make sure its as good as George's if not better.

I never heard of Sam Butcher, but now I did I totally dislike him! I mean.. Who do he thinks he is to replace the one and only Boy George? Sam totally ruined this song with his (I'm sorry to say this) ugly voice. I'm deeply disappointed by the decision from Culture Club to let Sam in the band. Why tour with Culture Club, when Boy George isn't in it anymore? It's kinda mean to the others but it is true: Boy George was Culture Club and without him the band doesn't exist!

Do you guys honestly think that by replacing Boy George with another cross-dresser will revive Culture Club's old fame? I don't think so! Sam doesn't sing half as good as Boy George. If you should replace a legend, at least, give justice to his legacy by replacing him with someone who can give justoce to the songs he made popular. Culture Club is Boy George and vice versa.

Call me a big fat braggart, but I can sing Culture Club's hits alot better than Sam. Friends of mine and those who heard me sinf, Do you Really Want to Hurt Me, Karma Chameleon, Mistake No.3 swore that if they didn't know that I was the one singing, they thougth that it was Boy George Actually doing the vocals of those songs. Sam can never get close to George's popularity. Not in a milliom centuries!

Don't know what all the fuss is about ... thought the boys sounded great. Of course there will be people that will say that it's never as good or will be as good as 'The Olden Daze' but then again ... as I was there let me just say, for the record as it were "the oldendaze weren't that shit hot all of the time." Loved Boy George and his campy style and will always have fond memories ... yada yada yada ... but Sam is much better in his own way.

no point in comparing sam to george. george is great and started it all but he didn't want to go back to cc, so why make a noise about sam not doing a good job. i mean if you hate him and you don't like his style, you are not obliged to listen to him or watch him. frankly, sam has a nice voice. i've listened to his new song if tears were gold and i was astonished by the great vocals. keep it up, you are wonderful.
