  • @joshuaa1000- you are hilarious! I'm a master's of urban planning student at USC and this video cracked up me and my peers. Keep up the great work! Did you get commissioned by GEICO to do their new ads? When I see them on TV, I think of your video!

  • The Sierra Club endorsed measure R.

I'd rather see apartments in Berkeley, built LEED Gold or Platinum, than track homes in Brentwood.

The NIMBY's are trying to keep Berkeley looking the same, and sacrificing the whole bay area at the same time.

  • No, moped, you have it 100% backwards. NIMBY's are anti-environmental. Period. Look, every year a half million new California babies are born. There are half as many deaths. Do the math, that comes out to more than 100,000 new houses every year. This is the reason we need new houses, shops and jobs. It's not a big-business conspiracy, it is babies growing up and looking for places to live. If you say, not in Berkeley, the jobs will go somewhere else, like Vacaville or Modesto.

  • @joshuaa1000 love canal is the original NIMBY cause.

Downtown Berkeleys current Zoning allows building up to 9 stories, Check out the Arpegio Building across the street from Berkeley City College. That's Berkeley's 6 story height "limit" w- extra floors for affordable housing, &special cultural use.Yes there is lots of room to grow under Berkeley's existing Zoning. All the plans put forward involve increased density, Measure R is the one without the environmental an affordable housing reqs.

  • lol, i hate this.

kinda funny, to bad it's not true, this is the kinda smear the green council people in Berkeley have to fight. And by green I mean the council people that get all the endorsement of all the progressive and environmental groups that endorse in Berkeley races. All of them, and they get the vast majority of those endorsements exclusively.

Its kinda wild when you think about it,

Does that mean that all the environmental, and progressive groups in Berkeley are Nimby??....

  • . ...anyway, the developers have dumped more money into Measure R then George Beier has into his own candidacy. George Beier has already outspent at $9.43/per voter, Meg Whitman at $9.28 per voter, last time George ran(2006) he spent $29.93 per voter. Meg will have to triple her campaign spending to match George Beier.

  • Brilliant!
