As of last week, I considered this show good but not great. Still I considered this show the 2nd best show from the 80s (Cheers 1st, Simpsons 89 doesn't really count). Then I rewatched episodes of Family Ties this week and I have to recalibrate my opinion. It really is great!

A standout episode of the series, although frankly, totally unrealistic. A girl like that would never have gone for a moppet type like Alex--she'd go for a hunkier, more manly-looking 17-year-old. That's not a critcism, just a fact. When girls are at college, they are not attracted to men who could have stepped out of junior high. But it's a nice fantasy, in any event, and Steel is gorgeous here.
