Val Kilmer is the best Doc Holiday I've ever seen. He's ruined me for any other Doc Holiday. I've seen the movie dozens of times and it never gets old. Sometimes it just do a quick "Doc scenes" run through.

I have seen Tombstone and Wyatt Earp, and I can say that Val plays Doc so much better...Quaid didnt even try to do a consist accent or persona, Val does Doc awesome, I have done research on all the characters, though some scenes in both movies are false(woohoo, it happens)PROPS TO VAL!!!

@BillysBelle Quaid did do the weight loss. It is rumored that he used arsenic to get the palor and loss of tremendous weight. He didnt have the Southern accent- but little is actually know about Holliday. Not one letter exists that he penned. Earp spoke about him...but most of what is known is from Bat Masterson. Holliday - was funny at times, but also had a temper.

Yes, my theory is the one thing that made him so good was his intimate knowledge of the effects of TB and the miserable death that came with it!

He knew dying in a gun fight was preferable to dying the way he finally did so he was able to remain calm and deliberate!

The apparent 3rd shot, is actually just the 2nd shot from a different angle. Though there is a slight mistake in how he brings the gun to bare.

Also, when Curly shoots all the shots in the street, there is actually a pause when he reloads. Great movie. Loved every second. Hell I'm gonna go watch it again.
