what's kool is that you are catching a very quick double flash from the red sealed beam, I love this light. and the solar ray wow! 911Caddy, when did the Solar Ray come out was it around the same as the Propello?
Yeah, if this beacon is mounted correctly. Which I understand it rarely was. It is very effective from the front ,side and rear!!
I believe the propello ray came out before the sola ray. Propello rays were around in the early 1950's. The sola ray I'm guessing now.. Was around the early 1960s.
911caddy: This light was seldom mounted correctly, your video shows the correct mounting. It was common to mount this light at 45 degrees off, so that it became no better than a regular beacon.
This is the Federal 174 at its best. I especially dig the "punch" of the clear lights...seeing that in your rearview mirror will definitely get your attention!
Any secrets on mounting that puppy to get the most out of it?
wish I had one. I'd go cruising with an amber one on my 4WD.
Any idea on how many amps the Super Beacon Ray used?

Yeah, all the Super Beacon Ray's I've seen too have been mounted poorly/incorrectly.

This emergency light was used exclusively on Burnaby (British Columbia, Canada) Fire Dept trucks in the 1960's and 1970's.

it is an awesome light! It was on the first cadi-hearse ambulance I rode in, and it literally swept people off the road in front of you, a classic

10-4, It's on the Superior Caddy. Yeah, if the light is not in it's correct position it's not very effective. Thanks for the comment!
