I saw Davina race against Jackie Stewart in go karts at Southampton sports Centre in 1978 or 79 for a tv programme called 'Challenge of the sexes'. I had a chat with Davina and she was really nice and friendly. I remember asking her if her Surtees TS could beat James Hunts Mclaren M23. She looked at me like I was a real geeky anorak, which I was. Funny to see them racing against each other here. Looks like the Aurora British Formula One Championship.

that is the dumbest comment I think I have ever read on youtube. Open wheel racing is FAR more dangerous than racing fendered cars. Driver safety was of little concern to constructors back in the day. Those who drove these cars in anger were very brave souls.

@zachary1215 They're old F1 cars as per the video info. It's a James Hunt Hesketh and the other cars include a Lotus 79 and Williams FW7.

Yikes! That #77 Guinness Rizla car you see pulling out just behind her at 20 secs got rather bent up in the Monday May 25 race. The nose was heavily damaged. Thanks for posting this Tim!
