About the whole removal of Saddam, that's another reason why the Iraq War is a failure: yes we removed Saddam but conditions in Iraq have regressed. Women's rights have gone backwards and now women in Iraq and Afghanistan have less rights now than they did in the 90s. Social conservatives are as vital as fiscal conservatives. Being strongly principled and upholding core values isn't a mistake but a necessary. Our society has traveled so far down the feel good path they don't even realize their lost in the woods anymore. At the same time the foundation of our lives as Americans as well as any realistic hope for the future decays before our eyes while many continue to drink the Marxist koolaid by the gallon. Go a certain way, you can expect a certain outcome.

I just see the whole social conservative thing as old fashioned and unnecessary. The only reason I can see they'd be needed is just for numbers. They only seem content when they're trying to restrict other people from doing stuff that they themselves don't like.

Firstly, I'm no lib. Secondly, I'm perfectly aware that there are viable options on the right, it's just that in my opinion, it's the fiscal conservatives that have any leg to stand on, social conservatives are the problem.
And I have to disagree that I'm wagering with truth when speaking of all things "god". I can say anything's the truth, doesn't make it so. I think it points to an inherent weakness in people, and I wish everyone would just "man up" as it were and face reality.

About the whole removal of Saddam, that's another reason why the Iraq War is a failure: yes we removed Saddam but conditions in Iraq have regressed. Women's rights have gone backwards and now women in Iraq and Afghanistan have less rights now than they did in the 90s. Iraq and Afghanistan have busted economies, infrastructure and cities, high violence and now lower access to education. What good did it do to remove Saddam but cause all these problems? "Mission Accomplished" indeed.
