thank you so much for this. I'm 26 and I struggled to find videos that covered the very basics of it. I stumbled upon yours and I love your style of teaching, I'm hoping to learn this soon!
Thanks Madeline, my wife and I just bought ukes. I am sneaking in some practice time on my lunch break and found your video series. I am 45 years old and I love how you teach. You might actually teach this old dog a new trick. My wife is left handed and having some troubles. Any suggestions?
Hi and thanks for the nice comment. Regading left handed playing - I have some "lefties' in my family and they don't do anything different. Since each hand has a different function, I think it is just a matter of getting used to the playing patterns. I know of guitarists who restring their instruments upside- to turn the instrument facing the other way - but it is not the general thing to do. I would say, one should just be patient with oneself and perservere.
Thanks. Yes that is a lovely ukulele and I always enjoy playing it. Thank you for your kind comments. I didn't know about the YouTube Parner - I will look into that.
My daughter, 6, just got her first instrument and it's a ukelele. She's so excited to get started and your series looks great! Thank you for making this available on here.
This series is brilliant, I'm no kid but its an easy way to learn the Uke and you're not patronising at all!! My ukulele is a Soprano, does it still have GCEA? Also, can you tell me the brand of your tuner as I really need one! Thanks! :)
Uke is quite different than piano or violin and I think, alot easier.
Uke playing depends alot on learning the chords, but the ear you have developed playing piano and violin will carry you very far and then you develop finger memory just like in other instruments. Good luck and good wishes to you.
Hi, This is a Kanile'a concert ukulele. It has been a wonderful instrument, and as you noticed, it is very well "dotted" both on the face of the neck and on the side of the neck. Thanks for writing,
i'm a 44 year old kid! LOL Thanks so much for explaining things so simply and clearly. You're a sweet lady :D I can't wait to get my ukulele next week!
Thanks for the comment and so glad the video was helpful.
