  • I was really moved by your story and I can only imagine how you feel even today when you hear this song. It´s a beautiful song that touches our hearts and wrings tears from our eyes. It´s lovely when people use the internet for sharing such memories.

  • It was 1963, The "B" side of Big Girls? not sure. I fell in love with Keven Antubus's older brother; he played this piano tune at our Annual Father Daughter's Night near Christmas. I was 11 years old. This song enchants me. I am now 60 years young, and can still feel like 11!! Wonder what ever happened to Kevin and his brother, the piano player? :)

  • I loved the story...my husband sends me a song every morning on Facebook and today it was this one. My Name is Connie. I have loved the song since I was a 13 year old girl when it came out and a young boy I "liked" in another town sent me a 45 of the record! I always think of those years long ago and how special it made me feel to have a song with my name sung by someone as awesome as the 4 Seasons. Your story is a beautiful story and I enjoyed it a lot.

  • God Bless You, Roger.

    Here's to being stupid.

Let's all be that kind of stupid.

  • What a terrific story. You brought tears to my eyes.. I wonder what happened to that young girl?

  • My name is Connie and I'm 65. I don't remember ever hearing this song until just only about ten years ago! I can't say I'm wild about it. Pretty dull eh? :) LOL

  • What a touching, beautiful story!!!!! Connie-O is a favoritesong of mine, and this touching story adds to the poignancy of this great hit by the Four Seasons.

  • I woke up this morning with this song on my mind.... Don't know why it happens, but it does sometimes. I was nine when this song came out, and I remember my older sister playing in on her record player over and over. I'm so glad I heard your story; it reaffirms my faith in mankind. I even forgive you for making me cry!

  • What a wonderful story.you were a young man with both compassion and a heart.

  • My first REAL girlfriend was Connie - first date - beautiful Saturday afternoon - high school football game. If I live to be a hundred or more, I'll never forget her or this song!!!

  • Thank you so much for posting this song! I have been looking for it for almost 40 years and had almost forgotten about it. I had 2 cousins named Connie, both of whom died tragically as young women...one in 1954( 7 months after her wedding) and one in 1967. They were beautiful girls and this song keeps our memories of them alive!

  • Great story to a great song! Thanks!

  • RDK Did you ever hear from her at all after all these years

  • 1 word.....brilliant!! thanks RDK

  • To Author RDK - what a great story. Wish I had the nerve to do something like that when I was seventeen. Connie-O has always been one of my favorites, having grown up in the 60s. Sign me: shy at seventeen.

  • I'm 39 and heard this song on a tv song ad....LOVE IT...its haunting. I love this song & it deserves more exposure.

  • Sorry for the repeats!

  • Hauntingly beautiful as is "Rag Doll" by the same group of fellows, "Have You Heard" by The Duprees and "Kiss Me, Baby" by The Beach Boys.

"O-Connie-O" and "Rag Doll" are, in my opinion, the most beautiful, melodic songs by the fantastic Four Seasons.

    Outstanding song and video!

    Thank you.

  • Great story Roger...I've had my Connie-O also. This song has always been my favorite by the 4 seasons, better than their #1 hits. "Save It For Me" (same group) was always a hope.

  • What a beautiful story, set to one of my favorite 4 Seasons song...thanks for a lovely posting.

  • What a great story! Would be great if she saw this post and contacted you. I happen to love "Melisa" by the Allman Brothers and I believe every man should have a Melisa in his life. I believe us guys carry love deep in our hearts our entire life and just have a hard way of showing outward emotions!

  • What a beautiful, bittersweet story. I will never forget it for as long as I live and love.

  • Great song, and instead of a collage of Four Seasons photos,I'll be thinking of your cool story.

  • beautiful story, fantastic song....nothing will ever beat 50s/60s music......feel so great listening to the haunting ping of the keyboard.....thank you so much for this post, reminds me of my dad, rip terry lait

  • You brought a little happiness into the life of someone who probably felt devastated. You did the RIGHT THING at the RIGHT TIME. Nothing, absolutely NOTHING stupid one. I may be male and 63 but your story really got to me.

  • What a guy! Would anybody even think of doing that in this day & age?

  • Such a sweet story - you were a good boy with a good heart - there are so many horror stories on the News of how rotten people are these days, I think we sometimes forget that many many people out there are very decent human beings - thanks for sharing your story. I had this record as a Kid too by the way!

  • That story brought a tear. You were an impulsive big hearted boy. Best wishes.

  • Always will love it!!!! And as always I remember Joe Rawlins, the boy I danced with to this song. His mother had a party for him before he went to Vietnam . He died a month later. I think of him fondly whenever I hear this song.

  • Still my very favorite You Tube Song!!! I have kept it so i can replay it always. Would like to find the single to have my own copy of the song!!!

  • What a great story; too bad you never were able to find her. I bet she thought about you many times.

  • Magnificent! As a grandfather of four, I understand completely what you're trying to say. The world needs more people like you! Keep on keeping on. I admire and respect you and your cause to the utmost!

  • hey AuthorRDK, I enjoyed your post.

  • Your story is not an isolated case.

Thanks for sharing your story. Even here in Australia the same sorts of thing happened.

Yes the song your story I can relate to.

As it turned out I married a English lass who is so loyal I wonder what i did to have here share my life but like you I had a very simler experiance when I was 17. I was young quite stupit but I was a good boy. Life is strange but music like this will stay with us forever.

  • Truly a favorite song by them, but also one of their best and still under rated to this day

  • My favorite Frankie Valli And The Four Seasons song!!!!

  • Brings back memories of my teen years..I've been looking all over for this song...

  • Very lovely song by the Four Seasons. Don't know why it didn't become a big hit. Instead it was on the b side of Big Girls Don't Cry in 1962.

  • Loved it!!! I danced to this song with a boy named Joe who went to Vietnam and died within the month. It always makes me think of him and that dance!!!

  • Loved it!!!

  • Nicely done story & I love the song since my name is "Connie"!!

  • My favorite Four Seasons song. I'm surprised it wasn't included in the Broadway show "Jersey Boys".

  • love this song!

  • a beautiful story of a slice of one's life set to a pretty song. Thanks for the post!

  • A beautiful story of a slice of one's life set to a pretty song! Thanks fo the post!!

  • I love this song - fall of l963 if I remember correctly. I had just entered the seventh grade, an impressionable time. Enjoyed your poignant story too. Those missed opportunities and where they may have taken us - we'll never know. Thanks for sharing.

  • STUPID maybe, but a very nice thing to try and do.
