I was really moved by your story and I can only imagine how you feel even today when you hear this song. It´s a beautiful song that touches our hearts and wrings tears from our eyes. It´s lovely when people use the internet for sharing such memories.
It was 1963, The "B" side of Big Girls? not sure. I fell in love with Keven Antubus's older brother; he played this piano tune at our Annual Father Daughter's Night near Christmas. I was 11 years old. This song enchants me. I am now 60 years young, and can still feel like 11!! Wonder what ever happened to Kevin and his brother, the piano player? :)
I loved the story...my husband sends me a song every morning on Facebook and today it was this one. My Name is Connie. I have loved the song since I was a 13 year old girl when it came out and a young boy I "liked" in another town sent me a 45 of the record! I always think of those years long ago and how special it made me feel to have a song with my name sung by someone as awesome as the 4 Seasons. Your story is a beautiful story and I enjoyed it a lot.
My name is Connie and I'm 65. I don't remember ever hearing this song until just only about ten years ago! I can't say I'm wild about it. Pretty dull eh? :) LOL
What a touching, beautiful story!!!!! Connie-O is a favoritesong of mine, and this touching story adds to the poignancy of this great hit by the Four Seasons.
I woke up this morning with this song on my mind.... Don't know why it happens, but it does sometimes. I was nine when this song came out, and I remember my older sister playing in on her record player over and over. I'm so glad I heard your story; it reaffirms my faith in mankind. I even forgive you for making me cry!
My first REAL girlfriend was Connie - first date - beautiful Saturday afternoon - high school football game. If I live to be a hundred or more, I'll never forget her or this song!!!
Thank you so much for posting this song! I have been looking for it for almost 40 years and had almost forgotten about it. I had 2 cousins named Connie, both of whom died tragically as young women...one in 1954( 7 months after her wedding) and one in 1967. They were beautiful girls and this song keeps our memories of them alive!
To Author RDK - what a great story. Wish I had the nerve to do something like that when I was seventeen. Connie-O has always been one of my favorites, having grown up in the 60s. Sign me: shy at seventeen.
Great story Roger...I've had my Connie-O also. This song has always been my favorite by the 4 seasons, better than their #1 hits. "Save It For Me" (same group) was always a hope.
What a great story! Would be great if she saw this post and contacted you. I happen to love "Melisa" by the Allman Brothers and I believe every man should have a Melisa in his life. I believe us guys carry love deep in our hearts our entire life and just have a hard way of showing outward emotions!
beautiful story, fantastic song....nothing will ever beat 50s/60s music......feel so great listening to the haunting ping of the keyboard.....thank you so much for this post, reminds me of my dad, rip terry lait
You brought a little happiness into the life of someone who probably felt devastated. You did the RIGHT THING at the RIGHT TIME. Nothing, absolutely NOTHING stupid one. I may be male and 63 but your story really got to me.
Such a sweet story - you were a good boy with a good heart - there are so many horror stories on the News of how rotten people are these days, I think we sometimes forget that many many people out there are very decent human beings - thanks for sharing your story. I had this record as a Kid too by the way!
Always will love it!!!! And as always I remember Joe Rawlins, the boy I danced with to this song. His mother had a party for him before he went to Vietnam . He died a month later. I think of him fondly whenever I hear this song.
Magnificent! As a grandfather of four, I understand completely what you're trying to say. The world needs more people like you! Keep on keeping on. I admire and respect you and your cause to the utmost!
Thanks for sharing your story. Even here in Australia the same sorts of thing happened.
Yes the song your story I can relate to.
As it turned out I married a English lass who is so loyal I wonder what i did to have here share my life but like you I had a very simler experiance when I was 17. I was young quite stupit but I was a good boy. Life is strange but music like this will stay with us forever.
Loved it!!! I danced to this song with a boy named Joe who went to Vietnam and died within the month. It always makes me think of him and that dance!!!
I love this song - fall of l963 if I remember correctly. I had just entered the seventh grade, an impressionable time. Enjoyed your poignant story too. Those missed opportunities and where they may have taken us - we'll never know. Thanks for sharing.

Hauntingly beautiful, as is "Rag Doll" by the same group of fellows, "Have You Heard" by The Duprees and "Kiss Me, Baby" by The Beach Boys.
"O-Connie-O" and "Rag Doll" are, in my opinion, the most beautiful, melodic songs by the fantastic Four Seasons.
Outstanding song and video!
Thank you.

Very lovely song by the Four Seasons. Don't know why it didn't become a big hit. Instead it was on the b side of Big Girls Don't Cry in 1962.
