This was shot around 1980. It didn't take a year for the punk to reach Japan and played.

punk start 1975 in Japan, Star Club is one of original punk band. and other band such as Friction, INU, and more. British band the stranglers came to Japan late 1970 and become active with bands, such as Lizard. The influence is taken back to England.

Friction started in 78-79 and star club like alot of early japanese punk bands got their influence from the pistols. Japanese punk is awesome but as far as originality goes punk was about as Japanese as the fork.

@menijoe @menijoe That is ignorant nonsense. The origin of Japanese punk groups is 村八分, the first punk band from 1969 Kyoto. In contrast to the major rock groups of Japan which mainly sing in English, such as Mickey Curtis. Frictions original outfit began in 1971, which was started by one of the 村八分 drummers. The Tokyo punk movement began in 75, focussed around Shimokitazawa Loft. Before the Sex Pistols even formed. Don't state things as true, especially since you don't have a musicology degree

@menijoe I didn't say that, nor would I. English punk was influenced from English bands such as Roxy Music, or The Kinks. The Sex Pistols themselves were influenced by bands from the US, but they would change, and define "punk" as a fashion and vulgar antics. Their image spread worldwide due to Richard Branson, and this is what punk is sadly considered today. It is very different from the punk scene which emerged in Japan from 村八分 and Les Rallizes Denudes.
