Keeping up with friends is hard and I agree it's usually one sided. You should read Mother Says. It's a great collection of poetry. I'm a Hal Sirowitz fan too.
I feel for ye man, my friends and I have drifted apart. Half of them have basicly backstabbed me, and the others have just plain stopped talking to me in general. However, there are those friends that I have forced myself to keep intact with. Its quite hard when your mentally unstable from past drug abuse, ect. Alot of my friends began to stop talking to me when I had several large mental breakdowns. So our situation is different, but still. Btw SA is my #1 fav band, and I too write poetry.(:
