the story about nv-wa goddess is very interesting but due to my limited vocabulary in chinese & hokkien (spoken in a flowery manner with idioms), i couldn't interpret the whole story. what a pity for me!
@edenstrauss2008, actually, it is often said that Nuwa's origin was heavily debated. The ancient dipiction of Nuwa resembles that of the Hindu demigod Naga. But both tradition started before the two civilization made their first contact. Nuwa and Fuxi are both half snake half human. Besides, the Chinese dragon was a symbol that is based on a serpent, and adding other animal's body part to it. So in a sense, Nuwa could be the original personification of the Real Chinese tribe that worships snakes
