i was there too we jacked our part up a lil bit lol i was one of the soldiers in the infield see how bad we looked when we tried to salute the bagpipes and realized we werent supposed to? if u didnt notice, i bet u do now...
too many libs taking away our rights every year, something else, don't like God, don't go to the race. Over 1.3 million people have giventheir lives for mour freedoms, don't let bthe politicians take them away.
Do a Google search for "Bellamy salute", then look at the Images page. I'll bet you've never seen those pictures published very often. The conservative Press in the US doesn't like to think we had a saulte to the flag that looks like that.
When this country was founded, approximately 98.6% of the people were Christians. Maybe when you recite the pledge, you should just leave out the words "Under God." You don't want me pushing my beliefs on you, yet you want history to change for your beliefs, or should I say the lack thereof! Unbelievable! :(
"Under God" was only added in 1954 under pressure from the Kings of Columbus and a Presbyterian minister (Reverend George M. Docherty). In fact the pledge wasn't even part of our "tradition" until the 1940's. Originally, it was written to be recited on Columbus Day, by a flag sales man. Check the history of the pledge, you'll be surprised at how it has changed.
The term Christian, in early America, meant a lot of different things to lots of people. If you look at the beliefs of Jefferson and Washington, you'll see a completely different view of what we think of as "Christian" now days. In fact, a lot of Christian's back then actually back the theistic views of Jefferson, over Madison, so the government wouldn't meddle in the practices of believes. God bless, history is an amazing and fun thing to learn about.
This is another a reason why nascar is the greatest. Our sport pays respects to us (the people), the troops, and the fallen. I LOVE NASCAR and it will be the best till the end of time. GOD BLESS AMERICA!
Can you upload the rest of the race?

@abn2nr I did notice. There were some when the camera first turned on them with a confused face looking around as to say, "Do we salute?!"

if we had NASCAR patriotism at all sporting events, our country would be stronger, the race is like this every week, not just on Memorial Day

The "Under God" should be removed from the Pledge of Alleigance. Some people (including myself) are atheist.

i agree...u don't like it, don't say it. Our traditions are constartly being challenged and taken away because some people don't like them.
