@MaddMax247 For a 1909 ish car. 500 HP is amazing.... Might be a tad later than 1909 I cant remember. But all that power. Back in those days. On those tires. with that suspension (Or lack of). Just think that this car is freaking old. So 500Hp is quite alot for such a peice of machinery
I commend the museum manager for having the courage, imagination & acument to build a period-appropriate racecar around this aircraft engine. I guess front-brakes had to wait for hydraulics, eh? Although a cable system should be workable. Surprised the designers didn't add dual wheels in the rear, to improve stability, traction & braking. But for a REAL over-the-top bit of engineering madness re: putting an aircraft engine in a car, see the Nz '55 chevy with a 3000hp Merlin on youtube.
A friend of mine has got the same engine standing in a corner of his garage (serious, not a joke). 22 liter v12. I believe it was built for a land speed record. Two engines were built, one as a spare, the one this friend has.
dude, that one there has 47ltr. It was built by BMW in the late 30s and is actually an aircraft engine . This car is the absuolute madness, its hell on wheels! The boss if the german Museum Sinsheim was mad enough to actuaally build a car around that...thing.
looks more like a tractor and 500hp aint mucha shit really if its supposed to be supped up
