@nmbr1bldr We have a "plastic lifter", they always go out and do that when I am in the heat of fall pumpkin/corn maze season and I usually miss it but will try.
I have a question for you, with your drip tape it is exposed at the ends of the beds where it goes onto the lay flat supply lines do you have any problem with birds or mice attacking the drip tape?
@ausfarmer89 No we don't, I guess never even thought about it. Mostly we have problems with deer crossing the beds and stepping on the plastic and it seems like they have great aim at hitting the tube and cutting it with their feet.?? Tasty animals however.
hi, walter, saw your vedio, we are planning to grow this in botswana, does weather plays part in the farming, and can you mail me what is required, from scratch to finish, fkimpexltd@yahoo.co.uk, we have some land in india and we are planning to start farming what every the income will be we are planing to help our family who are sturggling in india, please help if you can.saj
@azykatawala You really ought to invest in some fresh vegetable text books, magazines, journals etc... There is a lot more that goes into them than can be explained on youtube! Good luck!
Love your videos Bill. I'm trying to grow water melons in Kenya but don't get them to perform nearly as well a you do. I'd love to know your fertiliser program. Any chance?
Actually we don't use all that much fert. anymore. Not sure what is avaliable over there but we use a product called BTN which is actually soil microbs that work to help the plant grow better with what is already there. My father in law is more involved with that program than I am.
@waltersteyn What you should really do is take some soil samples from accross your field and send them into a lab. They can tell you what your soils need for melons. You'll want to do a V pattern and use a probe that goes about 2 feet deep.
Can you make a vid on how you removed the mulch from the watermelons after harvest or even a harvest ???
