  • Yeah save the gardens l have had so much memories here with my mates :):)

  • ian ram yer fifty million in yer jacksy. save union terrace gardens

  • Has the granite worn out? Do the squirrels not meet E.U. regulations? What is the need to transform these gardens? Watch some videos of the toxic waste seeping under the sand at Blackdog if you want to see a local site that urgently needs transformation.

  • I can't for the life of me understand why Union Street Gardens needs transforming. It is already a pefect public space.

  • the ninian central platform is part of the worn out and conceptually flawed 70,s oil infrastructure in the north sea. an entirely predictable major pollution event would occur if prompt, safe decommissioning was not carried out, paid for by those who accumulated millions through the use of that infrastructure. wood and company will of course face up to their responsibilities, providing funds and expertise for this essential work. did you think the oil was a free lunch?

  • @Rossco242 I presume it is because they are not open to allowing everyone to express their opinions

  • @randomlaughingman good comments by yourself . the percentage vote against it . they stick the fingers up and roll over to a powerful buiseness man once again . we should start a fucking revolution and start guillotining councillors . in public!

  • All this hysteria over what is currently an oval of grass with tar paths and about 200 steps at either end. Why not find something worth campaigning about to satisfy your urge to rebel and 'fight' something.

  • Good song, no one ever uses the car part on Huntley/Chapel St, why not use that Car Park or make that into a shopping Center as well while your at it?

  • The ACSEF project is just a bunch of greedy sociopaths trying to make another billion about of flogging the commercial space to be located in the bunker underneath their giant concrete slab. Don't let them kill Aberdeen.

They should all be put up against a wall and shot.

  • The perfect song. This city square project is nothing more then a roof for what's to be built below it. The gardens must be saved.

  • I can't believe they're going to take away the only bit of green visible in Aberdeen's centre...we want MORE green and nature not less (we don't want more concrete!). We love sitting there in the summer. the love of money just destroys any nature left in this world!

  • Well done. I wish I could be there to support this noble case.

  • Fantastic, you have my support will join any demo if required.

  • Great stuff. Well done. It's just madness that the gardens are even up for discussion. Trees not concrete!

  • @jazzyorange79 YOU CAN HUG A TREE BUT YOU CAN KISS CONCRETE...see the tree today and the massive branch broke where water can gather is 1 theory why that could o happened, maybe it is called animism or has a life-force of its own...well it is alive is it not. Better than dead...as in concrete the cheapest, dullest and more unimaginative suggestion eva and i am a Giro Junkie.

  • @TheDaftGitExperiance

    "Can you kiss concrete"?

Well, yes you can. It happens to the

tanked up idiots who fall flat on their

faces on Union Street any weekend.

The Council prefer the Green Buck to

    the Green Grass.

The city slogan should have been,

"Aberdeen, keep it clean of all thats Green".

  • 'Big Yellow Taxi' could have been written for this particular situation, congratulations to whoever thought of it. The photographs are stunning and show just what we stand to lose should the Gardens be destroyed. Go, Peacock, and good luck,

    Fiona Griffiths
