  • 2:34 Stockholm syndrome!!! MUSE

  • Stockholm Syndrome. :D

  • @loliver3 - He's such a wise guy, ain't 'e? lol

  • i like this pedal alot

    might get in the future

  • I play a Strat, I barely use this on the saturated mode. Use it with level around 9 o clock, gain at 2 and it's a great boost on top of my TS9. This is such an underrated pedal. One of those pedals that will fly under the radar because it's made by Digitech. This can do whatever you want. No better value

  • 2:27 stockholm syndrome, one of the greatest songs ever made in my opinion . muse ♥ :)

  • This pedal somehow makes my single coil strat stand out more than my les paul... mind blowing stuff

  • why does the clean sound on the amp sound so distorted? is it cranked high or something?

  • I ordered one last night... was using the ocd for a while but that will now be my solo boost and this will be my main source of overdrive. The crunch/saturated knob is really what sold me on this. Also the price was reasonable unlike some other brands that charge obnoxious prices for their pedals.

  • The beginning sounded a lot like Man In The Box. :P

  • is this good for metallica?

  • I don't know why I dn't get the same gain levels out of my amp. I'm plugging into a Mesa Boogie Blue Angel Head into a Randall 4x12 cab using a strat with cool rails in the bridge. My volume is set at 1(this amp is damn loud)

  • What are the exact settings for the Man In The Box part? I bought this pedal because of how good it sounded in here haha

  • A real shame there is no mids control. hey why do i need comment approval when i sent you a friend invite ages ago?!

  • I've had boss os-2, EH big muffs (russian, nyc, germaniuum 4) boss sd-1 (modded by keeley) EH double muff... and the sc-2 is the best by far. Superior sound quality, low gain, hi gain it does it pretty pretty well. It reacts pretty well to your guitars volume knob... couldn't be happier with this.

  • Hush at 4:13 :)

    Nice pedal btw.

  • i had this pedal. definately one of the greatest pedals i owned! but i broke it.... :/

  • Hey, what do you think of this compared to the mxr badass distortion? please answer (viewer's comment's are accepted)

  • @freiture the badass is just a copy of the DS-1.. get this one instead

  • @freiture If you haven't got one yet, you really should look at the mi effects crunch box

  • @freiture boss ds-1 came out in 78. notice the mxr is called the Custom Badass 78 distortion. coincidence? no they are very similair, but the mxr is true bypass

  • THUMBSS UP FOR THE MUSE RIFF

  • Nice....Alice in Chains man in the box at the beginning.

  • STOCKHOLM SYNDROME!!!!!!!

  • Your so called "Clean" Tone is nothing but crunch...

  • @Gyan111 somebody says this in almost every PGS demo. he's using a low watt tube amp which, when cranked starts to dirty up a bit. apperently it's a normal thing.

  • What is the difference between valve and tube overdrive

  • Comment removed

  • @joewalshman96 Basically, the SC-2 Valve distortion is supposed to be your main distortion sound, and the CM-2 Tube overdrive is a boost for an already overdriven amp, if that's what you're asking.

  • Why is it that I can't find any Hardwire Stereo Phaser anywhere?

  • is it true bypass or not?

  • @liembk Yeh that is the main idea behind hardwire pedals (and the internal boosted voltage)

  • I have this pedal and would recommend it. Really versatile with a nice tone to it. I found the saturated side not as good as the crunch. Pedal is really solid too.

  • i want to know if the sound is the same or it's different by different in the amplificator Thanks

  • should i choose this or a mxr fullbore probably differant idk what to get?this ones more all around while the other seems 1 dimesnional i a have shecter damien elite

  • This or the ProCo Rat 2?? REPLY PLEASE! What do you recommend?

  • @hackett999 proco rat!!!

  • yeeah its rock :D

  • i hear that stockholm syndrome by muse at the end

  • Just bought one today and after experimenting with some settings it made my crappy old Orange crush 30r sound like a 50watt Marshall. EXTREMELY versatile pedal, it covers anything from blues to grunge (I myself am a big AiC fan) and used as a booster, preferably on some on better amp (I tried it on 100 w H&K, it sounds killer, seriously) you can get some pretty SWEET thrash and speed metal sound, both for riffing and leads. Far better pedal than anything in the same price range, trust me.

  • rock'n'roll ain't noise pollution!

  • fking killer

  • Uhmm....this pedal sounds more amp like than 75% of the boutique stuff listed at PGS. I honestly think this SC2 CRUSHES the Lovetone Provalve and anything fr Pigtronix. BUT before you rip me, it's my opinion only. AND for everyone's sake...tone is subjective. Like everything else in life, so if you like it, like it. IF you dont like it, move on.

my SC2 is on order and I'll leave a clip when I have had a go at it.

    P

  • @lifetrip822 nah i don't doubt it, this thing looks pretty legit..

  • 2:33 - 3:00 Stockholm Syndrome? :o

But man, I have this pedal, and it's the shit. Even if I can't use it right. Which may or may not have anything to do with why I'm here...

  • I'm trying to find a pedal to put in the effect loop of my amp to saturate my distorted tone even more; any suggestions?

  • @arh0178

By an eq pedal... good luck

  • Very nice!

  • alice in chains

  • I really like the cruch mode on this. It has more bite than a conventional overdrive. Sounds killer too!

  • MUSE :O

  • Comment Pending Approval

  • what is the difference between valve distortion and normal distortion ?

  • I have several of these pedals and highly recommend them. As far as tone, durability, and the fact that they don't cut your signal like most pedals...they are the best hands down!

  • It's gonna fall on deaf ears but this is as much gain as you need for any sort of metal...the more gain, the worse overall the band sounds

  • @TheDonBLYND Bravo sir. Heavy heavy distortion in some rare cases fits, but take Iommi for example. The godfather of metal.. he didn't use insane distortion and tell me he didn't create some of the most metal riffs ever.

  • @TheDonBLYND so true

  • @TheDonBLYND depends. Just because something has a lot of gain doesent mean it has the kind of hyper-compressed feel that metalcore guys tend to like. Or that kind of supersaturated gain for swampy post-metal type stuff...

  • @TheDonBLYND Then why don't they all use cleans? ;)

  • MAN IN THE BOX ! yeay A.I.C

  • Hey, this one sounds pretty good - a true refreshment after watching the TL-2 video. Great reviews!

  • for those who wants play hardcore metal! digitech death metal pedal is the bestt

  • @EliasSevenfold except i t sounds like shit...

  • Yes, I know that at least the SC-2 and the CM-2 are analog. I'm not entirely sure about their other pedals though, but they all sound fantastic so I don't think it matters TOO much.

  • stockholm syndrome played wrong. really good pedal though!

  • @ 2:34 Stockholm Syndrome !

  • Andy uses the 65 Amps Soho Model for most of his pedal demos, but he is using a Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue for this particular segment. This is a nice pedal, good crunch, goes from mild to wild. With the Fender, He's pulling some sweet AC/DC type tones. As always, Andy, good demo.

  • hey Andy, i really appreciate the demos and videos. i just want to know what amp your using with the pedal? and if you have it running in-front of the amp or in an effects loop? thanx!

  • For what I need this is the killer pedal.

  • so, this is analog pedal?

  • 3:07-3:39 Higher Ground baby!!

  • Man In The Box :)

  • I'm sooo darn glad he let me try it agaaiiin

'cause my last time on earth I lived a whole world of siiiin

Really nice pedal. The Hardwire series it's a totally different breed of pedals considering how most of the Digitech pedals sound.

  • It's just my $0.02, but Digitech pedals are EXTREMELY underrated. My WH-1 and Digiverb pedals have been heavily used and abused, but they still function just like they did when they were new.

  • 2:30 Fuck yesssss, first time I've heard a Muse riff in a demo. Thumbs up just for that, haha.

  • @redvirusX What muse song is that? o.o

  • 2:35 Muse FTW

  • though this pedal is pretty good

  • sound like slash guitar

  • Do you think this pedal would sound good through a Fender Frontman 65r? The clean channel only has High/Low eq, and I am having trouble finding a pedal that doesn't come out sounding too hissy or muddy. Each of the pedals I have tried so far also have Hi/Lo only, would a pedal with adjustable mids be recommended, such as the Hardwire TL-2?

  • @ThePowrWithn yo man i had a fender frontman 65r and know like everything about them tone wise ahaha. the clean channel is pretty rubish for pedals ive found. i have a kanji eternity and it sounded pretty lame on clean channel, also my fuzz face sounded buzzy and lame. try it on the distortion channel with the gain on like 2 just for volume. i just began using the tone of the distortion channel with my wah and fuzz and it sounded pretty cool....

  • @william1theguitarwah or, buy a tube amp and everything will sound awesome.

  • Ahh, I bough a CM-2 Tube Overdrive trying to get Satch and Vai tones, but this is closer to what I'm trying accomplish with my sound.

    щ(˚Д˚щ)

  • should you turn off the true bypass if you dont have active pickups?

  • @RankDoorMatt what does that have to do with anything... true bypass means that the signal doesnt travel trough the circuits of the pedal when its turned off, but instead bypasses the curcit completely, in order to keep the signal intact.

  • How much is this pedal? I really want to buy it!

  • this stompbox look as gorgeous as it sounds, thankyou ProGuitarShop for showing us the pinnacle of analog shizzle \m/

  • Is this a distortion pedal or an overdrive pedal? :S

  • You should not use a amp that is alredy overdriven, because then I won't know what it will sound like when the amp is clean. But awesome pedal!

  • can I boost this pedal with a mxr gt od?

  • :O I need to get one of these for my SG Standard and play on that crunch setting near 1:25 :O

  • The TL-2 metal is the best. For what i like to play.

  • could you get like a real punchy rock sound like a green day or ramones sound out of this pedal?

  • Rock'n'Roll Ain't Noise Pollution :D

  • you're name is andy?

    No way!

    that's awesome!

  • Holy crap! This pedal smokes!

    I'm buying one!

Thanks for the great demo, Andy!

  • Stolkholm SYNDROME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this pedal is a legend..

  • Does anybody know if this would be good for avenged sevenfold songs??

  • Ahhhh yeah. Muse. Great demoing song.

  • i've been looking for a pedal that can give me a tone similar to the tone from Pink Floyd's album The Division Bell, just the overdrive/fuzz sound, any advice? i've tried a lot of Bigmuff models out but none of the modern ones cut it.

  • Absolutely LOVE the demo. Guess I'll buy it. Sounds awesome.

  • hi man

this pedal can be used for heavy metal? i mean old heavy, or old thrash like anthrax , judas priest etc,

the sound of the video is direct recording or to comuter=?

    thanks man

  • dude ive never heard anyone play stockholm syndrome with that amazing tone. I seriously need this.

  • digitech is for noobs and little kids

  • @omen351 I guess that's why Bill from Mastodon uses this pedal live. What does he know about distortion right? noob.

  • @omen351 omg people on the internet say the strangest things..

  • @VKzGibson they think they're anonymus...

  • @grzegorz206 what? :s

  • @omen351 Very constructive comment! I have just got one of these and in my humble opinion it's one of the best dist pedals I've had. That means it stands comparison with Analogman, Wampler, Lovepedal, Hartman, I could go on. I'm not saying it's better or as good as anything else out there, just that you shouldn't dismiss things out of hand because of the name.

  • @omen351 Have you ever used a Digitech Whammy pedal? Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Tom Morello, and Jack White all use it so Digitech can't be that bad. I will agree that their cheaper line isn't that great and most of their multi-effects processors have bad footswitches but when you get to the Hardwire products and the more advance stuff they get better

  • lol im buying this pedal and im using it for muse songs hahahaha wierd

  • should i feel shitty about using digital distortion? i mean, i have a solid state amp, so im pretty digital anyway...but i dont know!

  • @TheSchoolsux345 - Solid state and digital are not the same thing. Solid state is an analog technology, just like vacuum tubes are also a different type of analog technology . No computers or "1's and 0's" are involved in either. Just use whatever sounds good to you. There is no right or wrong, just make music.

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos i thought the sc-2 was analog, not digital

  • @MegaFenderstrat Yes, it is analog.

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos - EXACTLY! Everything is personal preference. What do YOU want to hear? In the band I play in, we have 3 guitars and bass and we ALL have different tastes when it comes to what we want to hear and the sounds we like. It's all subjective. I've bought really cheap gear in the past and be happier then spending hundreds more for something similar.

Besides that, if you know how to use your equipment, you'll get better results.

  • @TheSchoolsux345 Nope you shouldn't. There's some amp modeling that sounds better than actual amps and pedals, but it's up to you.

For me, I'm going all digitial and it sounds just great to me, and it's very inexpensive. Look up Amplitube, Guitar Rig, or Peavey Revalver.

  • @TheSchoolsux345 its no different to buying a ds1 or a crybaby ,

  • @TheSchoolsux345 valve > digital > solid state

    to me

I don't like most distortion pedals, but I got some amp modeling programs for my computer that sound way better than stomp pedals.

  • @TheSchoolsux345 Also, it's digital distortion, the hardwire pedals are analog systems.

  • @TheSchoolsux345 dont feel shitty bout nuthin dude.... unless you got bad taste in music

  • is this a tube overdrive or digital?

  • @TheSchoolsux345 Neither. Analog and tube aren't always the same. Tube is a kind of analog, but generally what you'll find is that a distortion pedal uses diodes to create clipping. Digital means that it uses a computer chip instead of normal electronic parts.

  • @TheSchoolsux345 you mean is it analog or digital? all Digitech pedals are digital but the Hardwire ones all have true bypass or you can switch them to not be true bypass from a switch in the battery comportment.

  • @darkgamer240 - Not all Digitech products are digital. The Hardwire overdrives and distortions are analog.

    -PGS Crew

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos what's the difference between analog and digital when dealing with OD/distortion?

  • muse

  • Awesome pedal! Plus alice in chains and muse improvs!! :D

  • 4:02 KYUSS!!!!!

  • stockholm syndrome!

  • ok so let me get this straight. this does not have a tube in it?

  • @Jimihendrix6699 No tubes.. its suppose to sound like a tube amp

  • i would like to know, what is the amp used to this demo?

i have a avt 150 marshall, will io sound the same?

  • @guitarralaraja prob a 65 amp soho like most oh there demos

  • I have a crate GTD15 and I was wonderin if this pedal would sound good through it. Please help!

P.s Im thinking about buying it...

  • @SonicGamer1991 have a crate gt65 that sounds great with any pedal.. granit i do have acelestion vintage 30 in it, and run a compressor and tube preamp through the effects loop.. Anyways, a pedal will only sound as good as your amp and guitar.. I suggest get a better amp, and then get a good pedal

  • muse!!!!! badass brotha XD

  • Comment removed

  • a WAY better than the hardwire overdrive..

  • jajajajaja ahuevo Stockholm Syndrome pero medio desafinadon a lo ultimo jajajaja

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos LOL. Loved the comment

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos well a lot of people may not have £3000 worth of equipment so maybe you should demo the pedal through an amp that more people are likely to have, im not saying you should play through a 15wt fender starter amp but common most 15 year olds like me dont have a really expensive tube amp which is why we go for pedals, but now we dont knw if the pedal will sound good because your demoing it through a fucking tube amp

  • @gunsnrosesful

DRRi isn't worth that much, it's $999US on the PGS website, which by tube amp standards is midpack, and it's clean enough to let the character of the pedal give the best representation of itself, that, and most players who aren't whiny and 15 do have nice tube amplifiers.

if you have a problem with the way PGS operates you are complaining in the wrong place, they do fantastic work.

  • @gunsnrosesful Thing is dude that would look bad on the pedal if they demoed it through say a Marshal MG100 or what have you. Fact of the matter is that eventualy if you stick with it you'll end up with a good tube amp. When I was 15 I had a shit amp too but most guitarists use tube amps and these demos are done to sell units and that wont happen if the demos sound bad.

  • Agreed. As malcatron said, it's called "PROguitarshop" - not "fifteen-year-old-beginnerguitarshop". If you want to demo this pedal out of your amp, arrange a demo at the local store or something.

I think this demo was awesome - plus he played Muse! I'm looking for a nice pedal to give a little more boost to the old Peavey tuber I was given the other day (I'm sixteen, by the way - you've just got to be in the right place at the right time), so I say these guys did a damn fine job on the demo.

  • @gunsnrosesful The clues in the name - "PRO"guitarshop - it's not really aimed at 15 year old's with no cash but sad old tone chasers like me with more money than sense. If you're playing through a shitty solid state amp chances are you haven't got a lot of dollar to blow on pedals, so why aim the demo at you when there are thousands of potential customers who can afford a tube amp and are therefore more likely to spend some cash?

  • I played one of these pedals into a crappy solid state at guitar center...wow. This demo absolutely nailed the tone. This pedal is ridiculously versatile and dynamic...I used to love my tubescreamer, but this thing killed it. And it's so cheap for a dirtbox!

  • what song at 3:05? :O

  • @Maiden92666 Higher Ground by RHCP. It's a cover of a Stevie Wonder song of the same name.

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos What about a dude like me with a semi-solid state amp with two tubes in it (Fender Roc Pro 1000)?

    ...

  • I have a Deluxe Reverb Reissue so I'm fine with the setup. ;)

  • Rock`n`roll`ain`t`noise`pollution!

    Rock`n`roll`ain`t`gonna`die!

    \m/

  • Honestly, I'm beginning to lose all faith in distortion pedals...

  • could this do a cranked AC30 sound...sort of libertines kind of sound?

  • could this do a mesa boogie triple rectifier type of sound? if not any other pedals that can? answers please!

  • could this do a mesa boogie triple rectifier type of sound? if not any other pedals that can? answers please!

  • Would this model or the tube overdrive version be better at getting more of the crispy early Van Halen sound?

  • Will a pretty heavy distortion pedal kill the original tonality of a JCM 800 when running in either low or high input, or will the tube overtones always be there since its running thru the valves? I want a pedal thats hard enough to be used as the main overdrive in the low input.

  • could this do a good 30 seconds to mars sound?

  • I'll give Digitech credit, for Digital it actually does sound like authentic tube drive.

  • the only bug i'm having with the sc-2 is the nasty audible pop at high volumes when you turn the thing on...anyone else notice this?

  • RHCP rules! :D

  • Hey, what do you think is a good amp to play this through, cause I have a line six spider 15w and hate that I can't save netrual channel, plus the amp distortion sucks, I'm also on a 300 dollar budget, help me out XD

  • is this better than the ds-1 or ds-2?

  • is this better than than ds-1 or ds-2? (only tell me if u have one)

  • plz dont bash me but someone with a ds-1 or ds-2-is this better? (money not a prob)

  • @alexdaman8 i have a ds-2 and in my opinion i like the SC-2 much more.

  • MUSE Dead Star!!

  • great man in the box intro! AIC DOMINATES ALL!

  • That sounded soooo good.

  • Nice to hear Higher Ground being played.

  • Comment removed

  • Is there such a thing as a distortion pedal or whatever that can tighten up vintage amps gain/distortion?

  • Weird hearing Higher Ground with that much OD! Good sounding pedal, Im torn between it and the TL-2.

  • How's this pedal for nice warm andy timmons like drives?

  • Man in The Box

  • MUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Got one of these on the strength of this demo. Over the moon with it through my ac 30 many thanks Andy for such a great demo (as always)
