i don't know about you all, but i have a surprisingly easy time pissing off anders to full rivalmance. i couldn't help but giggle everytime he got into a hissy fit over something i did.... is something wrong with me?

@eji313 fenris was the one who betrayed me in the fade... fun. good thing i took away his sword right before that happened lol. anders will stick with you to the end if you rivalmance him, complete his companion quests, and choose the right dialogue options... even if you side with the templars.
@demongal107 Flirt with both of them, then in act 2 focus on the Fenris relationship first. When he walks out on you then focus on Anders and you can basically rebound with Anders. :)

@ArsRagnarok My philosophy is to bring him everywhere and always do things you think will piss him off any chance you get. Send mages to the circle. Side with templars. Say mages are dangerous, etc. Do a save before anything comes up that may be a big event so in case you say the wrong thing and get friendship points you can re-do it. Get him max rival as early in the game as possible, flirt every chance you get and you'll be golden.

@epicdolls If you bring him into the Fade, Justice takes over completely. Basically, for a brief time Justice is in your party. When the Sloth demon approaches, if you side with it, you piss Justice off and he'll attack you.
@evilbettie - Varric and Aveline can betray you in the fade. Varric with the pride demon and Aveline with the desire demon. You just can't take Fenris, Merril, or Isabela into the fade.

@Olonelily - The person I was repsonding to was wondering if Varric and Aveline can betray Hawke in the fade. I told them that fenris, merrill, and isabela are the ones that can't be in the fade if they wanted Varric and aveline to betray them.

I have to ask though, I thought there was some more dialogue with him after you do the "Justice" quest, or does that change if you say no to helping him?

Anders can betray you if you try to agree with the sloth demon at the beginning. Although, technically that's justice, not Anders.
