I've recently visited Listowel on holiday and it was a fantastic place. Compared to this dump(UK), it was clean, vibrant, friendly and SAFE!! I would move there at the drop of a hat but unfortunately the emigration process from the UK to Canada is lengthy and expensive unlike here where the floodgates have been open to the worlds "not haves" for decades. I don't suppose there is anyone out there looking for a Centre Lathe Turner is there? Ah well, maybe one day!
Left there in 1978, and returned very briefly (one day) in 1983. Hadn't been back since since then, but returned for a day visit in 2008.
A great great placed to be raised, but it sure isn't the same town as when I left it back in '78.
I used to live on both Elm Ave. N. and Barber St. S. I just couldn't believe how narrow the streets are !
