I love Ft. Pickens and I hate that the road is washed out. I heard they aren't building the road back but they are going to have a ferry for like $25 a person. That's insane!
this video is awsome! i live here in p-cola they still havent fixed it...but i remember being little & my grandpatelling me stories about geronamo's ghost & i skipped a feild trip there when i was 8 b/c i thought geronamo's ghost was gonna get me...lol...now i wish i woulda went..
has anyone heard any recent news about rebuilding the roads to ft. pickens? we recently rode our bikes there. I've been there twice and it would be awesome for them to fix the road. Pushing your bike through sand isn't very fun.. hehe but is worth taking the trip out there.
I miss camping there. My wife and I rode our bikes to the major breach in the island and walked about a 1/2 a mile further and decided to turn back. I love Ft. Pickens, and I really want to see the National Park Service return it back to its former glory before the hurricanes tore it apart. I lived in Pensacola for the entire 2005 hurricane season, but I live in Knoxville, TN for now.
I live in Pensacola, Florida and i always go to ft.pickens ever since i was little and i went every where on the fort and the peices of it thats spread out
Same here...me and the families favorite local camp sight by far...I remeber slleping outside in a lawnchair one night and waking up to a growling racoon at the base of the chair where my feet were!!
OMG- How great! Have been wondering how bad it was out there- I want to take my little girl out there ASAP whe they open the forts back up! I grew up playing on this end of the island.
