  • I know that Tammy loved George with all her heart --she just couldn't handle his erratic behaviour when he was drinking ---and ---they would have been together I believe If George Richey hadn't came on the scene and broken everything apart --I know she stayed married to Richie but he abused her too .

  • My favorite song by george & tammy!! strange that this song was never recorded with george & tammy only george & brenda carter did, thank you for the posting!!

  • I love George but I worship Tammy !

  • I still like John Prine and Iris McDerott's cover of this song better but what a pleasure it was hearing the original. I didn't even know that it was a Jones song originally until just now. I always thought it was an original John Prine song.

  • Tammy didn't love George?news to me...Can't believe he for got his brand new wifes name...She was a little scared at the beginning of the song...Their daughter Georgette is a babe and has a great voice...check her out on "I just don't give a damn" song

  • The greatest voices ever in country....beautiful...."...if drinkin' don't kill me, Tammy's memory will...."

  • Certainly the coolest couple of hillbilly's ever, and two of the greatest voices of all time!

  • Tammy wynette is the only singer that when their voice cracks or somethin it sounds good.

  • @owsleyforkmusic IMHO, Karen Carpenter and Janice Joplin are the only two who sound good when their voice cracks.

  • Él es Igualito a Woody (Toy Story)!!!

  • Great Great Performance! God I Sure Miss Tammy - they just don't make em like they use to.

  • Is it Jim Carrey??? hehehe! In this video, old George is realy looking like Jim!

  • This is a great video and song

  • What a pair of voices!

  • I can't stop playing this,I love it!

  • Tammy looks just like Steffi Graf in this video.

  • Doyle Wilburn is hilarious.

  • damn girl SING IT lol =D

  • And that ladies and gentlemen..

    Is Country Music

  • Did I forget to say how much I loved the steel part. Hal Rugg

  • Ain't nothing better. What a voice. Hers and his.

  • Steinsteel: to say that Tammy did not love George whole heartedly is totally wrong. If you know anything of their history you know they were both madly in love.

  • great post thank you

  • My Mother sang this all the time to me as a child growing up....I loved it !!! ty 4 sharing it!

  • i dont think the audience knew how much awesomeness they were about to experience

  • Just like Patsy Cline, Tammy had a unique voice - nobody sounds like her.

  • @mrbobevans Better than Patsy, at least a better selection of songs...more country, less cross over

  • @benwitt1 I wonder who Loretta would choose since she was best friends of both. I agree about Patsy doing crossover. I wish she would have focused more on country. Her voice had the ability to do crossover.

  • Jones and Wynette, the best duet of all time! They were like peanut butter and jelly!

  • Im proud to say i was k realated to tammy her and my mother look so much alike i wish i culd have been able to meet her she has a beutiful voice :)

  • You can see that George is madly in Love with Tammy. She did not love him just his fame. But good Lord how they could sing together.

  • Love how he says "Jerry Lee" at 2:45 Classic George Jones.

  • how great is this.

  • At the tail end of the video, Doyle Wilburn says "That's fine, that's real wonderful". Well I'll tell you what....he'll get no argument from me. If you don't smile while you're listening to this you should probably try listening to rap or something.

  • this is real hard country.....

  • never seen jones so happy if he only had knowen what was comeing

  • in the porter and dolly version dollys voice far outshines porter to the point you can barely hear him. this version its george. imagine those two trying to sing above the other.

  • George George George!

Look how handsome and dynamic you were before you added "drug addict" to your resume.

What a showman; by comparison, Tammy (my love) is a wallflower. Love seeing George like this!

    Thanks for posting!!!

  • i like the .357 version better

  • That really does take you back to a different time. I was only about 5 years old when this aired on TV, but I remember my grandfather watching this, Porter Wagoner, and listening to the country music of that time. This brings back good memories. Miss you Papa.
