i tested this my self, but with the more pussy way, single player cmd type in  /brush sphere 0 6

(6 is the size, if your computer can go higher do it.) it ca break bedrock/ netherbedrock.

@jpeanut97 The whole concept of the void doesn't really exist, it's just like the skybox of a game; it's not really there, it's jut something to put there, or rather in this case, so that nothing has to be put there at all, so we are to assume that beneath bedrock lies the nether. It's kind of like dying in a campaign for a video game; you didn't actually die, you're to assume that your character went through the whole thing without dying.

@jpeanut97 It's because we're not meant to be there; the bedrock was never meant to be broken in the first place; if Notch were to ACTUALLY put the nether underneath the bedrock, that would take a lot more to load...so instead, you're probably just to assume that it's under there, but if you somehow DO get under the bedrock, the void is basically saying "um yeah, the nether is supposed to be under this bedrock, but we didn't want to load so much, so here's a void."

The void is the distance between the 2 bedrocks. If you survive the void you fall down on those bedrock pieces. I broke through bedrock (Dont ask how) and I saw the void. Just A MYTH THO..... ;)
