  • Once the bumper Styrofoam is compressed from a hit, you have to replace it. Otherwise it won't work at all the next time you're hit. I was hit with the brakes on at a light, and the entire rear was dented and flared out. Crap car.

  • it diddent do anything lol

  • got my 05 accord sedan rear ended while idle at a traffic light .. I take very good care of that car bodywise, interior and mechanically so at the moment of impact my heart sunk and I thought "oh no, the whole rear MUST be totalled" .. that's how hard it felt ... I got out, walked over to look and saw nothing .. absolutely nothing .. the rear bumper absorbed all of the hit .. all of it .. impressive .. gained even more respect for my little accord that day =)

  • AWESOME!

  • LOL the dent pop back out! LOL!

  • damage to the frame :/

  • @avsti False, I doubt that budged the frame or even touched it. The bumper absorbed all of it is what it looks like.

  • I have a 04 accord and was recently rear ended and shoved into the car in front of me. I was expecting to see way more damage than I did but it only appeared to scratch up my bumpers. Closer inspection showed the bumper covers where off to one side a bit and the clips underneath were damaged. They replaced my front bumper cover and "repaired" the rear one and repainted it. Oddly enough it only cost about 1,500 and it was front and rear bumper damage.

  • This is the so called "women driver" test

  • ooohhhh that hurts to watch..

  • its an acura. so all the honda parts get a price increace. And that could have damaged the actual bumper part, not just the cover, so in a real accident it wouldnt bounce back? Thats why your better off getting a nice toyota than a base lexus or nice honda instead of low acura

  • even if there are dents, there are home remedies to fix dents that will cost like 10 bucks to fix. 20 max

  • $1,599?

Looks like $0 damage to me.

  • acura tsx fun to drive not to own!

  • @aybfonzi4life why do you say that?

  • Dude Acura FREAKIN ROCKS!!! Did you see in the vid, nothing wrong with the bumper afterwards? Seems Acura's dent's heal themselves, just another 1 of the one hundred million features of an Acura!

  • If you are talking about bumpers, they are plastic. but even parts that are made from metal don't cost much. I bought a good quality fender for my Mercedes with paint and all other small parts it only cost little less than $400 but after putting them together (labor fee, 5 hours) went up to $1500 total. That's why everything cost so much.

  • Each and every car brand and models have there Pros and Cons, except the fact that everyone has there opinions on what they like and dislike as everyone is a critic.

"To be a car enthusiast you must respect and love all cars"

  • $1500 in damages for Acura, bet its 3-4 times more for bmw or merc.

  • Mercedes+BMW FOR LIFE!

  • You have been fooled by stupid german engineering... really expensive cars with fast depreciation and unreliable... HONDA AND ACURA STILL HAS BEST RESALE VALUE! Buy a BMW/BeNz for 60k and will only be worth 15-20 in a few years! Buy a 40k honda and will still be worth 25k in a few years! Get my point?

  • I get your Point on the resell..BUT most mercedes/bme lasted 10+ years and it is this ownership feel, plus mercedes have a 2000-3000 accidental warranty where in 5 years everything on the car plus the engine , if breaks they replace FREE and if ur windshield braks they replace, also bmw has 50,000 miles or 4 years... free service.. and yea....honda is totaled after a crash...

  • @TInoTAcoDRifter I would have to agree with the older hondas being totaled after a crash, but not the newer ones. They are surprisingly tough.

  • I'm a hardcore Honda fan. Probably will never drive a non-Honda car. But just to be fair, BMW's depreciate not because they are unreliable, but because once the warranty period is over, most people can't afford to maintain it. Therefore they sell them, but no one wants to buy because it's expensive to maintain. Hence the rapid depreciation. There, Business 101.

  • No... BMW's depreciate because they don't have more VALUE than any other car. Why would you ever buy a USED BMW for $50,000 if you could buy a brand new Infiniti/Lexus for $45,000? BMW's depreciate in order to compete within the range of used cars. If they don't... no one would buy them because they aren't RARE! There are many cars out there, expensive to maintain, that still hold their values... just not any BMW... in conclusion... overpriced!!!

  • since when was a honda 40k? but i got your point. LOLL. but why stick with honda when you have toyota which is the best at everything? plus i like toyotas logo over hondas, and lexus' over acura's. well thats imho. i like vtec. i just wish vtec was in toyotas...

  • Hey... ever heard of Acura? It's Honda as well. Love Acura/Lexus/Infiniti. I'll never buy a european unless they drop the prices down to where they should be and unless they become much more reliable.

  • why do you have the simple misconception that honda = acura.... acura's parent company might be honda. but it doesnt make it a honda. sure a 2009 honda civic = rebadged acura csx, or a 2009 honda accord = rebadged acura tl, or a 2009 honda crv = rebadged rdx.... but they have a different badge.... you might say acura = honda... not completely though. same with a 2005 lexus es330 = 2005 toyota camry.... they might be very similar. but the badge is different.

  • Dude, you know nothing about cars. Over in Japan, an acura rsx is just a honda integra... a infiniti g37 is just a nissan skyline 370gt... they are basically rebadged in the U.S to entice wealthier people to buy it. Open an Acura car hood... look at the motor... MADE BY HONDA... LOL

  • but you cant deny the fact that it has .... not a honda badge... but a acura badge...

  • acura dosent make honda, honda makes acura

  • Toyota is asking $64,000 (starting price) for the Land Cruiser! Almost 70 grand for a Toyota.. yeah no.. I'd rather go European and get a Land Rover... The vehicle that can actually go off road..

  • Go ahead and go European... we'll see who ends up paying more in the end... you will pay more for maintenance than your whole car lol... You again are one fooled by German pricing... Expensive for no good reason...

  • I will go European, and wouldn't go anything else... Not my fault you can't afford it...

  • Hondas and Toyotas aren't inexpensive... they are correctly priced. You don't know anything about investments do you? I can't afford one? LOL... BMWs and Mercedes are only 20-30 grand used... brand new they are expensive because you got fooled LOL... I'd rather throw my money somewhere worth and not throw it away... NOT MY FAULT YOU'RE THROWING MONEY AWAY LOL..

  • I don't buy a car as an investment. That's just not me or my style.. If I really like it then I get it.. I have a passion for Mercedes and BMW and always have since I was little. And I'll be honest with you, not so much for the new ones, but I'd still get one over a Japanese car. You choose Japanese I choose German and it's not throwing money away if I love the car I'm driving, it's money well spent if you ask me. Now if I got a japanese car and didn't like it, then yeah wasted money.

  • Lexus are Toyota, they are heavily overpriced. (Lexus are Japanese)

Mercedes-Benz and BMW are priced well. (Mercedes-Benz & BMW are German)

You get what you pay for, no one ever told you that?

  • Let me see... I can buy stuff online for 30% cheaper than in the stores... does that mean they are inferior to the store products? LOL... your stupid saying fails... keep believing that theory and you will feel dumb when your wallet drains. It's not "you get what you pay for"... it's "YOU HAVE BEEN FOOLED BY MARKETING TACTICS..." LOL

  • mercedes and bmw are priced well, wtf are u smokin??? all ur paying 4 is there stupid badge, and toyota has cars that start at 12,000, i dont think mercedes or bmw can say that!!

  • @xtrueballerx umm land rover is british not german....but yeah i agree japanese cars have infinitely better reliability standards. idk much about the off-roading segment so i cant comment on that.

  • do u live in the jungle??

  • No, but I don't want to have to worry about my accelerator pedal getting stuck and killing me.

  • not sure why ur saying that, but then jus dont buy a toyota

  • toyota??? they jus recalled 2.5 million cars!!! toyota is done, there goin down the drain as we speak

  • Stupid German Engineering? Uh I drive a 1970 Mercedes 220 Diesel as my daily driver and it's been one of the most reliable cars my family has owned. I would bet it has better quality interior than your lawnmower over there and gets the same if not better MPG too and it's 39 years old! Hondas and many Japanese cars are so boring.. They're so plain jane.. I would seriously be bored out of my mind having to drive that everyday. To each their own but I choose quality, thanks.

  • Hey dipshit... wake the fuck up... we are years beyond the past. Haven't you taken any history classes? Ford and Europeans bashed the Japs from the beginning... but now they are on top. CNN just released this years top U.S cars... 90 percent of them are Japanese... what proof do you have? 30 years ago was ancient... we are now in a new era of competition. Mercedes now aren't the same as Mercedes decades ago... stop comparing different times in history... it don't make sense!

  • Damn you have a mouth on you don't you? Classy, typical "baller" lol... Any ways, I could care less if Japanese cars are on top, tons and tons of people buy them because they are inexpensive disposable cars that you don't have to care about. There is a reason European cars are more expensive.

  • Just incase you havent realised Mercedes-Benz are now in 2010 better than what they where 20 years ago.

Look at the new E-class, tested 14 million miles & holds the high speed endurance record.

The new CLS, its just a beautiful E-class.

    I could go on.

Japanese prices have went up 15 % for Europe and 20% for America.

Mercedes-Benz have actually took profit & put it back into their cars.

Toyota/Lexus is a fat bloated pig of a company, i can see Toyota/Lexus going out soon.

  • Honda RULLZZ

  • about two weeks ago a guy rear bumped into my bmw 125, no damage for me!!!!! its was a pretty hard hit.

  • BMWs are extremely well made vehicles.

  • Nowadays yes, back in the 90s, not really if my friends 1996 316TI is anything to go by.

  • thats woman driver..

  • this cost 1500 to fix? where's the damage??

  • @fuknoz

    Definitely underneath the bumper

  • @fuknoz You know, dealerships always charge ski high

  • @fuknoz lets see.. new bumper.. new trunk. possible taillights.. there you go..

  • @deepen2011 500 bux part plus 1000 bux labor....

  • I have this car and its expensive to fix. For the people bagging it and saying it shouldn't bounce back like that this car will crumple at and impact over 8km so the idea is that you can do car park damage to it without it crumpling so see how it deforms then pops back into shape. If you had any idea what you were talking about you wouldn't be bagging this car and saying its unsafe. Mine saved my life.

  • WTF are talking about this isn't an acura it's a Mitsubishi look at the badge !!!!!!!

  • dude its a TSX or a Euro Honda Accord... you are blind

  • Its an Acura TSX However they redesigned it for 09.

  • know ur cars . ur stupid

  • can anyone explains to me y it was rated POOR, it looked just perfect to me after the crash

  • It is not about body damage, but occupant safety. The whiplash my cause injuries, for this reason, it is only wise to buy German or Swedish cars where they actually put real safety in their vehicles.

  • the new accord won the safety test 2009 so stfu

  • "won the safety test", which one? what are you talking about? cite your sources you retarded fuck! I can say anything won any award at any given point in time.

  • um sure

  • it was prolly not supposed to bounce back, instead crumple and wreck the back of the car, i'd prefer Poor.

  • 5mph yeah it is supposed to bounce back

  • Only retarded fags will pay this crash, i will drive away like nothing.

  • @Crashsilumator26343 i drive a tsx and got rearended by a van same damage as the vid and i gotta agree wit you bout not payin....insurance company charged me for the spoiler damage (no damage on spoiler)..all i did was replaced the bumper and waxed the scratches on trunk lid

  • @Crashsilumator26343 And only retards would pay that much, that's probably the bid a dealer would give. Save money, work on your own car...it saves a lot in the long run haha.

  • Not a bad thing lol

  • LOL, and now Currently there are more Aztecs at the bottom of the Ocean then ships ahahahah lol

  • EVERYTHING about it was i think lol

  • PLEASE, dont reminde me of the Aztech, that was one of the most UGLY cars EVER produced, i dont knwo who designed it but they mustve been wasted.

  • Consider yourself lucky, the Grand Prix was a TERRIBLE car, always something wron with it, Vibes werent bad, at least it was built in the U.S.

  • Thats a Pontiac for you, was it a Grand Prix? most of pontiacs cars have major problems, the 90's Grand Prix were a "Mechanics Special" off the factory floor, i wouldnt ever buy a Pontiac, but if you need a car fast.....expect to go just as fast as you bought it.

  • I backed into a pole just like this one (TSX has a HUGE blind spot when backing up) with my 2007 TSX, and I clipped more of the side than the bumper and crushed the rear driver side quarter panel in and scraped off a bunch of paint and smushed in that area of the bumper and the mud flap even fell off and there was a lot of visable and it was only $850 to repair (didn't go through insurance). So I would take that $1,500 estimate with a grain of salt.......

  • Never try this with a french car. ;)

  • why

  • Very weak body.

Know someone who had a citroen.

Drove against such pilar, whole his trunk was smashed.

  • Thats what we call "crumple zone".

  • Should not crumble when you are driving in reverse against 15 km/h. ;)

  • this happenes with peugeot and citroen. renault cars are far safer.

  • True.

Most dangerous French car from the 90ies, is the Citroen Xantia if you ask me.

    Once in the news.

Citroen xanthia was hit in its back against +/- 70 km/u.

The full tank got damaged, lightening up the gasolina. Killing the two childeren on the backseat almost instantly...

  • Does an accord bumper cost 1500 bucks? I think they are exagerating a bit.

  • If you look carefully, the truck gets damaged as well, I think thats where the hefty price tag come from.

  • but the car is fine

  • lmao that does not cost 15 bills to fix. Bring it to me i can do it for half the price

  • not even half it maybe needed a paint touch up but theres noithing wrong with that car

honda/acuras are alot stronger then people give them credit for

  • the worst thing could've happened was the a light bulb blew out

  • no there is a dent in it

  • dont me dumb filipino, the dent popped, only stupid people would pay for that crash

  • dont fucking call me a dumb filipino u prick

  • get a life piece of shit

  • My car would have broken the pole

  • What do you drive? A train? LOL

  • Nope. 1991 GMC Suburban, classic body style. Of course, compared to most of these cars, its like a train.

  • I hope you know thats bullshit. If not, than buy a physic book.

  • Well, smart one, your obvious lack of detecting sarcasm is quite sad. Yes, I was joking, but still, its only five miles an hour. I doubt there would even be a visible mark or dent on my bumper. Now to have a car that would break the pole..... That would be a Vista Cuiser. Thats a real tank on wheels.

  • This test should be called the "retard driver" test.

  • Amazing car. Reliable.

  • TSX is from Japan so all the parts are speced from Japan and so forth.

  • its an acura there not from japan!

  • ????

The TSX is manufactured in Saiyama, Japan. And sold in Japan as the Euro R.

  • honda will introduce acura in the japan in the future

  • theres not any damage 1500

thats bull shit i drive hondas and there not that bad to fix!!

  • if you can afford a luxury car like acura you shouldn't be worried about $1500

  • unless it's a couple years old and you got a really good deal on it. :)

  • absolutely the most idiotic crash test ever..I would step out of my car and smack the driver who crashes like this..stupid..

  • take the bumper off bang on it from the inside and it should come right out. i just bought mine yesterday lovin it...

  • I drive this car, it's call euro in australia. good car!!!

  • look at 0:20. the dent popped out.

  • lol

  • Cool!

  • 1.5K to fix man i'm leaving the dent in the back of my car someone drove in to it and then drove of :X not happy

  • wow i guess it costs 1.5k to tighten up loose screws js for that....

  • now we know if you drive into a...metal bar at 3 mph u won't die....great..

  • i barely notice any damage... i wouldnt even report it if i was the one backing into poles like a retard

  • same crash on Mercedes C-Class will be double or tripple cost

  • but repairing a german car is allways more expensive. New bumper will be more expensive and 1hour of work is double price.

  • watch how you drive and you won't have to worry about it. if someone hits you, it'll be there fault and you won't have to pay for the damage.

  • Costly, the damage to the car was not really that bad. probably a small dent. but most cars sedans/coupes will give u the same results with difference price.

  • when you fucked up your bmw2u you will pay 2 you 3 up to Honda so don't fck minds of customers!

Honda is fck reasonable prised except EU brands on US market.

  • my father's 2002 tl just bounces back forward leaving no dent or anything. 5mph with that much damage is pretty bad. =/

  • it left a hole on the bumper no wonder i got that much in damges even a ford can dot better

  • poor 2004 acura tsx 5-mph rear-into-pole test damage 1559

  • i got into an accident with my tsx and popped up from a ditch than it reversed into a tree because i went up onto an incline... my bumper was pretty fucked up... i believe i was going slower than 5mph not sure..

  • the way i see it, the bumper need to be replace. it look good but THE PRICE IS BAD!

  • i got tea-bone on the left on a mazda 5 and i was a-okay

  • almost $1600 for that?

  • that's what i'm sayin. i got rear ended by an old nissan way faster than that, though i have a 2000 v6 accord, and it only did 350 in damage to the bumper. $1600..fuck that!

  • surprise, surprise, I never expected no damage before. This kind of reminds me of the anti-denting Saturn Ion they use to commercialize years ago. Acura must have picked up on the material.

  • WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

    boing

  • LMAO!!

  • was that good or bad?

  • that was good

  • That was bad...over $1000 is way too much.

  • ouch
