The guys laughing at the city reminded me of when I saw this in the theater and we were laughing our asses off at it because you could REALLY see how cheesy it was on the big screen. Some of that "model" was just aerosol paint cans stuck on and painted. They tried to pass them off as buildings!

And the reaction of seeing Hasselhoff in it then - when he was playing a doctor on a soap opera - was just as weird as it is now...just for different reasons.

hey i have a question i have my own version of mst3k were me and my friends make fun of these movies but (now here's a stupid question) will i get sued for copyright if i sell the episodes of us making fun of these bad movies?

@gojirafan430 I doubt it - as long as you buy the rights to the movie you're riffing on, or you use public domain ones - Night of the Living dead, for example.

@gojirafan430 I bought the rights to a very obscure film a while ago, it cost me about £1000 - that's only for Broadcast license - so if I wanted to sell it on DVD, I'd have to pay for a reproduction license, and I have no idea how much they cost.

@gojirafan430 A landmark case was where a woman had millions of views on a video of her baby dancing, but it had Prince playing in the background. The record company took her to court, but she won, with lots of compensation. Your clips would probably fall under "fair use" which means that you're allowed to use clips, for the purposes of parody or commentary. Hope that helped.

@gojirafan430 It's basically the same, although it might be easier if you add a disclaimer at the end saying "The original producers of .... had no involvement with the production of this parody. .... is copyright of ...."

A lot of films do this, and it's all covered under copyright law.
