I believe the players are automatically assigned red and blue unless they have chosen a preferred color in the pre-game lobby.

Like in 4v4, player 1 is always red, player 2 is blue etc..

I want to choose my most wanted colour. If my and my opponents most wanted colour is the same or looks to much like each other (teal/blue or something like that) it is flipped on who should get a random opposing colour.

Also: In team matches i think the teams should get colours that looks alike. (3 kinds of blue vs 3 kinds of red for example.)

the red vs blue its not only in starcraft. Its the classic team vs team or 1 vs 1 colors they are used in all the games we can use (halo[rosther teeth],AOE,etc.) especially in capture the flag and strategy games.

Completely agree about colours. I loved in SC1 where you could get purple, orange, green, whatever. Very disappointed that they did only 2 colours in 1v1, and only 4 colours in 2v2 (AND they picked light blue, and purple... boring). Really hoping they'll open up more colour options somehow in future.

i agree husky. while red vs blue is easily distingishable, it does get very dull. blizz needs to make it like BW where u spawn as a random color. even better, you should get to pick a "preferred color" in your profile where u can select what color you would like to spawn as. im sure theres a way they can get that to work
