I'm not american, so I don't have a dog in this fight. Also, I certainly recognize that Ron Paul is the most dependable of all the candidates But as a philosophy student, I have to say he's not a very good libertarian. One example is his view on abortion. Regardless of your own opinions, his argument for government intervention is inconsistent with libertarianism. He's not as gung-ho about personal liberty as some believe. Never lose skepticism, is all I'm saying.
@alteregoash Agreed, less federal control, get rid of federal reserve, decrease spending .... he has same views as most republicans - he just differs on foreign policy.
@lion575 Which is a undeniably a huge difference worthy of respect. Also, he differs on the drug war for non-partisan reasons and I think that's a positive influence. So he has a certain amount of respect due. But as you said, he's more a republican than his following seems to recognize.
