this clip is incredible - not only shows what alzheimer's is but also child abuse... In her alzheimer's she only remembers her childhood, which is made of horrible memories of abuses... this is... :´(
Hi! Greetings from Lisbon! Please, don't miss the main point, here. Alzheimer's a terrible disease, but this commercial was made to alert to child abuse.
shut your mouth you piece of shit. Learn how to respect people, you must be really lonely in your life because if you had anyone, a mom, a grandmother, you wouldn't be saying that as anyone can get alzheimers one day. I don't wish that upon anyone on your family, as I don't wish that for anyone, and you would certainly not be a good person for them to have around. Please stop commenting shit here and go look at yourself in the mirror and feel guilty of all your comments.
@Thepoliticman I love it when i see someone with alzheimers, u can point and laugh at them and they wont do anything about it cos they are too weak to fight back hahah, its great.
@PipweedTheGreat your pretty fucked up to think alzheimers is funny. people with alzheimers arent always weak either, theyve killed several people including family. hope your comments make you feel good about yourself, because to others they make you look like you have some form of dementia. you need to get a life. try laughing at someone with alzheimers and dont be suprised if you end up in the hospital
@TH3C4NN4BL3C0W hahaha whatever u stupid loser, as if someone with alzheimers could do anything to me, i would just point and laugh at them cos they are so weak LOL,
@PipweedTheGreat You Know... i think you have tourettes! because thats what it does to shitheads like you, i never saw in your recent activity laugh at a guy with tourettes so i think you have it! and i know you will change the subject like usual! and you never seem to think about how sad you would be if you had the conditions so you maybe have tourettes syndrome or you have no soul!
@PipweedTheGreat Really? You think that's funny? I would say that I hope you end up with it but, I did stated to some one before that I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Just the fact that you think this is funny shows what kind of a scumbag you are.
@PipweedTheGreat Learn how to spell you uneducated piece of shit. Instead of trolling on here you should be doing something productive with your time, like getting some form of an education.
@artb76 ive already learned how to spell mate, this is the internet u goof i dont need to spell everything perfectly do i ya muppet. go cry in a corner u sad diseased lowlife u must have downs syndrome hahaha
@PipweedTheGreat You're a sad piece of work and one day you'rre going to piss off the wrong person on here who can either hack into your emails and other online accounts or, some one who has extensive knowledge in Computers and internet and will use it to track your sorry little weak ass down and fuck you up. The only thing I will regret about that when it happens is that chances are I won't be there to witness it.
Our subconscious mind is very powerful. It leads us into situations that only our deepest unknown intentions and wants push to. In many cases the results are undesirable since they are not chosen carefully. I wonder what's the master plan behind all of this. I only ask one thing, and that is to be a good person all my life.
1:12, as much as pain it is for me to say this, this video is stupid in referring to the title. No the person's who upload this video is the one who's stupid. This is a video for some traumatized rape victim.
Many patients and their family's do not realise that they can reclaim any fees that have been paid out of their own pocket for ongoing care for a loved one. Even if the patient has passed away, the family can still reclaim their lost inheritance.
Families who have loved ones suffering with alzheimers and other debilitating illnesses should contact us without delay and let us get the ball rolling for you. We operate a 'no win no fee' and there are no upfront charges to make either.
Little faggot laughing at this.. I hope you get it, your mom gets it and your dad gets murdered and no one to mourn his passing. Your mother will die a slow death, she will not recognize you anymore and stops caring about you because she doesn't know you. She will die after getting run over by a car.. And for you, pathetic little lowlife person with no friends, smells like shit and gets bullied at school.. You will commit suicide.
@EDitS11 Maybe you will get hit by a car...yes? You won't die but will have brain injuries and won't be able do things for yourself. Maybe don't laugh at stuff like this because karma is real and will kick you in the ass one day if you are like that.
My mother has Alzheimer's AND was abused. She too comes up with things like this. Only they are not as clear as concise in what this woman says. I see how people could take this the wrong way.
But often Alzheimer's victims remember things from long long ago. And without the usual mental filters that keep one from saying anything, the inner child comes out. My mouth dropped open at the end of this.
I think this disease is one of the worst possible anyone can get. My grandmother died from Alzheimer's and, having to see her in that state before she pssed was really depressing. I hope I die before I ever have a chance to get like that. I would NEVER want any of my children and/or grand children to see me like that. I know it sounds messed up to wish that one myself but, that's how I really feel.
Im working with people with alzheimers, and its so sad.. so this vid made me cry :( and that she just remember the first years of her life, and this is what she remembers before death... Im sure its people like her out there with those memories... it kills me :(
its suprising how the purpose of the commercial is to educate and bring awareness about child abuse and not at all about alzheimers, it seems a bit abusive to use the alzheimers subject as a cruel teaching tool. I suppose this commercial would be upsetting to someone who has a family member, spouse, or friend with alzheimers. the child abouse moral of it doesn't have much over the sadness and sympathy for the daughter in the segment.
Wow this is really interesting. Someone who has alzheimer's but can remember herself being abused. Wow. You know what they say. You can never forget something that hurts the most. :(
Alz patients should take curcumin, an extract of turmeric. google and find the "Got Down Syndrome" blog and contact Quadoshah. UCLA has just made a really good bioavailable form and it breaks up Amyloid plaques. I'm giving it to my infant daughter with Down Syndrome to prevent Alzheimers and improve mental functioning
Ok, sorry that's not what I meant, I was making fun of the video category, not saying Alzheimer's is entertaining, this is the second time I'm stating this, and I will also remove my comment.
I have found Colostrinin, sold as Cognase or Cognisure useful for concentration an memeory. There is a lot of research showing how it works in slowing AD. It is derived from Colostrum.

It really depends on what they are on. Different medications perform different functions. No medication to date for treatment of alzheimers has ever stoped it. Medications merely reduce the severity of symptoms and different medications are given to people depending on the stage of where they are at. Hope that answers your question.
Damn guys if you just assume that the woman was abused as a child simply because she says "I asked my aunt to hide me under the bed, daddy is coming", you will not fully understand what that person is thinking. If you know for a fact that connecting a story to something you actually KNOW happened, it is safe to assume. She could have been going back to a happy place, say playing hide and go seek. This is almost like a John Mccain campaign commercial. DON'T ASSUME.
Assume all you want. You and I have something in common. Its called an opinion. I guess that also means we don't have 1 thing in common: I read, and interpret. You read, and you just sound condescending, but hey, its my opinion!
You must be utterly stupid. You think I have a view? How about thinking for YOURSELF. I think that you cannot simply go on what this lady just said and think she was abused. My grandad had this problem and he said some weird shit but found out it was something else. Do not jump the gun.
I see what you are saying. - but in the context of this comercial, it clearly mentions at the end that "an abused child never forgets". It's really about child abuse, not so much about Alzheimer's.
its funny how you dont realize that your wrong lol near the end it CLEARLY says "an ABUSED child never forgets.", kinda got to be a moron to associate the theme and message portrayed by this clip to a "happy" thought
omg thats so sad its so scray to see people w/ alzhimers!!! i wish alzhimers would go away i wish we found a cure im so sorry for people who have it or have family members that have it!
I've worked in nursing for 10 years and seen all stages of dementia. Much applause to you for tieing the background of one mind blowing situation to another.
Magnetrition, like nutrition, a collection of learned responses to poor or inadequate health conditions due to a deficiency of biological requirements Osteoporosis menopause and cancer are the result of inadequate movement in a magnetic field, and recognize as a symptom of inadequate circulation within the cells of our body, which occurs due to the immobility of magnetically migrating organelles Observed as poor health and even death in the bird egg, infant, average person of 70, and astronaut.
it's ok to cry,my father is 65 too and he is in the final stage.he has this disease since he's 40 and my close friend has it since she's 17!!!!!SCREW ALZHEIMER'S!!!
I just wanna say I'm sorry that is happening to you. I know what it feels like, the same thing happend to me. I hope you can get through it....best of luck to you!
My mother is in the final stages of a form of Dementia, the forgotten.
When it take two and a half hours to feed a person with dementia or Alzheimers, who does the job? They need more staff in every hospital in the country to provide better care, if not they die from hungar, because they forget how to eat.
i work in a nursing home in which all the clients have dementia it is a horrible disease, i look at my nursing home as god's waiting room for these people and im there to make sure they are safe and loved while waiting, and i hope in the near future there is a cure for this horrible disease so that loved ones done miss out in the final years
When Alzheimers struck my friend, he got violent and held a knife to my sisters neck and spent a night in jail for it! I felt so bad! Then a few months later he was ok and remembered all! He said that the guards pushed him and that he hit his head on the ground!
Now I know that it is Alzheimers since he is taking Aricept and Namenda. I hate Alzheimers!
Here is a brief Alzheimers story. My friend, who was 66 at the time attacked my sister with a knife! He was sent to jail and nobody knew what went wrong! He was then sent to the hospital and when I saw him he was so confused!
That was in November and in March of 2007 he got well but could not come to see me because of flashbacks of that day!
He was better through this past Easter when we went shopping and did great stuff and in April!
this is just so sad!! you actually get alzhiemers by getting abused when your a kid!! this makes me cry.. I hope there will be a cure in the future.....
You're an idiot. This doesn't say anything about a correlation between the two. All it is saying is that even if you have Alzheimer's you won't forget that you were abused as a child. There is no causal relationship between the two.
when you have alzheimer's you sometimes revert back to a certain time in your life..think of yourself as a child, etc. or even see your grandchildren and think of them as your child "suzie" when really its "suzie's" daughter... and its common to relive events from your life.
i work with alzheimers and have come across something very similar. Lady of 83 reverting back to a child like state screaming for her mother to stop hiting her and how she did not want to go under the stairs. heart breaking! and as a carer the only thing you can do is offer comfort and reasurence. I am glad that i could console her in her time of need. Unfortunately when she was a child there was no one to do this.
well a relative of mine sadly had alzheimers. In the late stages she would remember her childhood but she hardly remembered anything else. What this is saying is that the alzheimers had led this woman to believe she is still a child that is being abused even if happened many years before
it's about both.. you see, it's saying that even if she has alzheimers, she never forgets her past because she was abused... so even with the forgetful-disease she remembers those parts where she was abused as a child. Don't have to believe in what i say, we all got different views, just saying what i think. ^^
well daah! isnt that obvious?? the old lady has alzheimers: she forgot everything. everything? no. there's something she remembers: her childhood. unfortunetly, she had a sad and painfull childhood... what to do? oh i know: lets help the children, "speak for them"!
They forget the present and are lost in the past. My mother too was abused as a child and subjected to paternal rape. Alzheimer's has robbed her of her adult life memories/abilities and forced her back to childhood horrors. That's the connection between child abuse and Alzheimer's.
From Alysa: "I'm a woman and my biggest fear is to be raped."
On the flip side, I don't think any man ever fears to be raped, unless it is by another man in his anal cavity. Women cannot rape men, because as soon as the guy gets an erection its no longer rape. And since women can't rape a guy unless he has an erection, but if he has an erection he must be enjoying it, otherwise why would he have one? The great paradox..
This video is very impressive, although it is a very short one. I wanted to ask you, if you can send me a copy of this small sequence. I need it for an exposé about dementia. I can´t use it as a youtube - data. The note - books at work don´t have any internet - connection.
Some people don't understand this but I think this portuguese commercial is very well done. I know it won an international advertising prize. Congratulations.
this clip is incredible - not only shows what alzheimer's is but also child abuse... In her alzheimer's she only remembers her childhood, which is made of horrible memories of abuses... this is... :´(

I've worked in nursing for 10 years and seen all stages of dementia. Much applause to you for tieing the background of one mind blowing situation to another.

Another cause of Dementia is when one develops an above average IQ then does not exercise his brain by reading books for a while.

I think it would be interesting if old people got anti-Alzheimer's disease where they slowly began to recover other people's lost memories.

I hate Alzheimers!
padude64 3 years ago
ummm are u sure its alzheimers because i dont think it strikes u like that and go's away by getting hit in the head.

My story is continued by saying that my best friend was not only a true friend but a staple in my life!
padude64 3 years ago
Here is a brief Alzheimers story. My friend, who was 66 at the time attacked my sister with a knife! He was sent to jail and nobody knew what went wrong! He was then sent to the hospital and when I saw him he was so confused!
That was in November and in March of 2007 he got well but could not come to see me because of flashbacks of that day!
He was better through this past Easter when we went shopping and did great stuff and in April!

I really hate this disease.. Watching this is really sad. I don't know anyone in my family that has it, but this is really, truly touching. To me. :[

People with Alzheimers need to be cared for as if they were their former self!

Alzheimers disease has many personalities and we must show love! Our loved ones raised us and we must show respect!
padude64 3 years ago
Alzheimers is bad because not only does it mess with the patients mind but the caregivers as well! LITERALLY!

So sad! I just thought it was about Alzheimers.
PrairieFire8 3 years ago
you morons you dont get alzheimers from abuse as a child. You're joking right?
Its a neurodegenerative disease. Caused by an over production and lack of clearance of proteins in the brain.
hyperphosphorylated tau proteins - Neurofibrillary tangels
Beta Amyloid Plaques
JoeORMERO 3 years ago 2
this is just so sad!! you actually get alzhiemers by getting abused when your a kid!! this makes me cry.. I hope there will be a cure in the future.....
syr0145 4 years ago
You're an idiot. This doesn't say anything about a correlation between the two. All it is saying is that even if you have Alzheimer's you won't forget that you were abused as a child. There is no causal relationship between the two.
sweaterman85 4 years ago 8
@sweaterman85
when you have alzheimer's you sometimes revert back to a certain time in your life..think of yourself as a child, etc. or even see your grandchildren and think of them as your child "suzie" when really its "suzie's" daughter... and its common to relive events from your life.
adspage214 1 year ago
i work with alzheimers and have come across something very similar.

I think it sucks!
Very sad film.

well a relative of mine sadly had alzheimers. In the late stages she would remember her childhood but she hardly remembered anything else. What this is saying is that the alzheimers had led this woman to believe she is still a child that is being abused even if happened many years before
Scorcher23 4 years ago
that gave me the chills.
waazchalker 4 years ago
Awesome , great message .
DiogoSanches 4 years ago
it's about both.. you see, it's saying that even if she has alzheimers, she never forgets her past because she was abused... so even with the forgetful-disease she remembers those parts where she was abused as a child. Don't have to believe in what i say, we all got different views, just saying what i think. ^^
Islandgirlztrinity 5 years ago
what does this have to do with Child Abuse????
peapodhas3 5 years ago
well daah! isnt that obvious?? the old lady has alzheimers: she forgot everything. everything? no. there's something she remembers: her childhood. unfortunetly, she had a sad and painfull childhood... what to do? oh i know: lets help the children, "speak for them"!
marianafarr 5 years ago
Tens muita razão :)

The point here is that EVEN with alzheimer the pacient never forgets a trauma like that.
I'm a woman and my biggest fear is to be raped.
I think about every day.

This video is very impressive, although it is a very short one. I wanted to ask you, if you can send me a copy of this small sequence. I need it for an exposé about dementia. I can´t use it as a youtube - data. The note - books at work don´t have any internet - connection.
Nice greetings from Germany

Yes, it is not about alzheimer's disease. Nevertheless, that is the title of the commercial, as shown in the ad-awards.com.
