Is it generating sounds by self or play preformed loops/sounds from other machine like a pc? Because as i have understood, it's haven't any card slot or sth?
Sorry for eventual mistakes in my English, but i'm from Poland
There IS an audio in, but there is no swappable memory card or anything like that. You can, however, transfer files to your computer from the unit and vice versa via a midi cable.
Elektron also makes this little midi interface unit that hooks up to your computer via usb or something. but that's it. It's not really a sampler in the traditional sense, it has not much memory, but i think you'll find that less is more in this case.
Hey dude, nice video - my kinda sound - just wondering if you are able to do this with the Machinedrum right off the bat, you don't need any extra stuff...apart from the sampled vocal is every sound here from the Machinedrum? Cheers
No pain no gain dude, for be the best you need the best, talent with cheap resources is not good deal.
The sad part is you can find all over youtube the more expensive synths, drums, samplers, etc commanded for retarded guys, just a few, very few really play, mostly a disaster and maybe a skilled guy can not affort a top of the line. Take a look "waldorf Blofeld" and you will understand what I say, terrific synth brand and mostly of the poeple buy it for play and make noise.
I'm really interested in buying an Elektron But i'm not competely sure because i dont know much about drum machines and stuff. I'm a guitarist and keyboard player.
Are the Elektron Machines easy to get to grips with? and what kinds of lead do you need. Could i just use an amp to hear it?
Yes theyre easy dude, but ofc you can get better stuff like VERMONA drum machines, something less expensive, i meen for a drummachine is too damn expensive in my opinion. If you do get it ,Buy the Sampling version, otherwise ill see your machine on ebay in a feww months
love the bassline, what is?

So can I use the sequencer tracks in this to drive another sampler via midi?
I'd like to get a machinedrum for percussion and kicks but I use a lot of glitch & idm style samples.

Did you just record with a mic into the audio in? Thanx in advance...great track!

no memory cards. you can do a dump and save samples and set ups to your computer and load em up later.
audio in: yes
for more info just check elektron's site.

thanks.

What's taking a dump and saving bits of it got to do with anything? ;)
morebucks23 2 years ago
couple of questions.
does the machinedrum takes memory cards? what kind?
does it have a "audio in" like an MPC?
how much internal memory has it got?
owlwink 2 years ago
2.5 megs internal mem.
no card. You gotta up it via midi. takes about 15 minutes.
ddaynyc 2 years ago
Thankyou,so there is no Audio IN? its simply done by MIDI?
