She had an extra long shirt that she couldn't tuck in, so she asked for a pair of scissors. She found Nathan in the hall and asked him to help her cut her shirt to make it shorter. I think the producers stepped into the hallway as he was cutting her shirt. She told the story in another one of her interviews. :)

Nathan was cutting her shirt because it didn't fit the way she wanted it too and she did not have time to get another shirt before she screen tested. In order to make the shirt work with her outfit she wanted to make it shorter so Nathan helped her cut it.

@whoknows2007 Really? I wouldn't be so quick to believe whoever says so. I mean, people used to say the same thing 'bout the actors who played Mulder and Scully. And look at how long they've been friends since then. :D If it's half-believable, it's something probably along the same story line as that of David and Gillian: sure, they don't spend as much time onscreen as they do offscreen and they may actually just be tired of constantly seeing each other. :))

@whoknows2007 I dont think its true, convincing laughter is a very hard thing to fake, even as an actor, because real laughter is involuntary. If you look at the way she laughs at his jokes, touches him and just the way they interact i find it very hard to believe they dont get along. It may be true they have better friends out of the cast than each other but i doubt you can get that good on screen chemistry if you dont like your partner
