TEE What a beautiful train. First class and luxury for Germany and Europe. I understand it is no longer in service and it had been scrapped. I once liked to be riding on board photographing landscapes, The Alps, The Tyrol and Swiss Mountains and also tasting Swiss cheese, black bread and white wine from The Rhein Region. That dream had vanished. Greetings from MEXICO
Surperb train formation ! 2 locomotives that were able to move the train home in case of a failure in one of them. I could not find on the Web a video (yes photos) of the gas turbine version ,(VT 602).
I am a huge fan of German Trains. I grew up in Germany (1961 - 1975) and have done my share of traveling the rails of the Deutsche Bundesbahn, but I never got to see one of those in real life. Shame! Looks like an awesome train. Danke!
Wow! That brings up memories. I have been working as a train steward during school holidays on these trains in the early 1980s. It was an outstanding train but with a great chance of technical problems. I guess it was one of the first air conditioned trains but was hell in summer if the ac failed and you could not open a window! haha! And definitely being in the drivers cabin at max speed was an experience you'll never forget! hope they bring these trains back one time like the oriental express.
Even when you know what TEE stands for, it still has a magical ring to it that matches the futuristic "head" of this machine, like some sort of an exclamation from a text balloon.
@Eremita68: After the usage as "Trans Europ Express" and later "Intercity" the train was rented by travel agencys for a couple of years. A big "Alpensee-Express" course sign were often placed in the middle of the train (but fortunately not in this video record ). The video was indeed recorded about 1990, i bought my first video camera in 1989.

It hasn't been to be about 1990, because TEE stopped to go in 1984...
