I have one with the L05 and got 17 / 24 until my head gasket and exhaust intake manifold recently began to expire. Now the car still runs the same (computer makes up for it as if nothing happened) but with about 12 mpg ! Sucks because the L05 isnt worth spending money on - but I cant afford the LT1 upgrade right now either.

@xFReSHeReST 93 Brougham has standard heated front seats with driverside memory and 3 position lumbar support with easy exit feature. Brougham also has rear seat cup holders,rear seat vanity mirrors,engine oil cooler, and shorter rear axle ratio (3.08:1). You can't go wrong with either one. They're both very well equipped.

Actually the fleetwood isnt anywhere near as bad on gas as people think, I love the ride, the power is incredible with its corvette derived lt1. 5000lb towing capacity, very nice for the price.

The speedometer goes up and down because GM used a mechanical speedometer (cable directly into the transmission) rather than electronic for its transmissions in that time. It doesn't interfere with anything, nor is anything broken. My 2000 GMC Yukon Denali does the same thing.

@Jakeman2164 Go drive one. You will get more than that! What forum did you read it on? Maybe a Fleet wood Limo or hearse would get those numbers but a standard sedan would get at least 15-16 stop and go in a big city or 21-23 Highway. Back in the day when they were new on real gas they got 25 mpg. My Impala got 27mpg climbing hills back in the day at at average speed of 72 MPH Now the best I can do is 23-4 Gasohol is junk!

@samsungmobilefan It happens on alot of GM cars with a digital speedometer. It will only do it in park NOT in drive, thus throwing off the registered speed. After all these years electronics and connections go bad. Some said cleaning the contacts where he I/C plugs in will fix the issue.

@MyFord04 actually they're rated 15/24. My 5-foot stretched Fleetwood gets 13 around town and 20+ on the highway and weighs in at well over 3 tons. The LT1, and its successors, are great, efficient and powerful engines.

It is in great shape. I want to paint my car a Lexus burgundy colour, as it is a boring beige gold colour with Tan leather interior. I have a 01 Acura 1.7 that was given to me after I prayed for a car with cruise control. I had a lead foot problem and I needed cruise to help me obey the speed limits. They don't make the 1.7 EL in the States and they were only available in Canada. Basically it is a dressed up Civic going to the prom. I want to tint the windows as well.

I think the reason the speedo goes up a little is because they use speed sensors on the transmission so if you rev it while in park it might think the car is moving slowly. now they use the speed sensors on the wheels
