But really, the intent of this series, is to figure out how to make my own GAME in UDK. Starting out with branching from UTGame, but then going to expand into my own game all together.
@steamisM50 Sure you have to know it first. But tutorial that extend on UTgame or standard Deathmatch are plenty around. Everybode rights tuts for shooters :( I want to make a something with cars. I have a hard time understanding the class hierarchy (with the Pawn stuff etc), not class stuff in general though. If there was a book id buy it, but its all old stuff for UT3 or they just suck (reviews).
@Beady2 Ehhh, that isn't 100% true. Unity is just as capable, but Unreal has a lot of things, such as AI, already completed for you. It also has a different tool set.
Great thing about Unity is how extensible it is. Unreal's editor isn't able to be changed without the source code to the engine, Unity's is, which makes Unity great for people who aren't sure what tool sets they need, and if they come across something they need, they can make it. Fairly quickly too, I may add.
@Beady2 Unity's scripting language is also another key asset to Unity. Unity's scripting language, C#, is by fart a more powerful, easier to learn, and usable language than Unrealscript. If you want more information on why I say this, PM me, but believe me, it is far better of a choice than making a proprietary scripting language like Unreal did.
@markis1995 Ehhh, that isn't 100% true, Unreal and Unity both offer different toolsets. What is great about unreal is its ability to do rapid prototyping. It also has a very easy to use, and fairly powerful light mapping system. It also has things like Matinee, Kismet and Visual Shading that Unity doesn't have.
However, like I said to Beady2, the beauty of Unity is that you can MAKE that stuff, which people have.
i still think that unity is better(now at 3.x)

@dranoel1963 Heheh....
Source, sadly, is severely outdated and behind the times.

unreal engine is more powerful and more capable of course its a bit more complicated but you can do much more that in unity. Go for unreal engine.
