  • Guitar builder's meeting.

    prefer RS than les paul.

  • brian shouldn't sing.. :L

  • really, a great one! the only thing is that it is short...

  • Now THAT was just Way too short... :(

  • les paul playing his les paul and bryan with his red special.. sweet :D

  • Short but sweet. Brians voice really fits blues beautifully

  • what song is this!!! is great!!

    please tell me.

  • It's one of Brian's fave songs I believe. "Early Morning Blues" by Blind Blake.

  • thanks man!!!

  • This is a wonderful clip of two legends...I just wish that the entire session had been taped. Thank you for sharing

  • @luv2read There is a more complete version on youtube now available.

  • Two greats!

  • Wow! 2 of my favorite guitar players....together!!!! Love you Brian, it must have been an awesome experience!

  • Brian May saw this video!!

  • Maybe Stocton is Brian May?

  • Brian is just a god, so... inspiring to me.

  • I've had a VHS copy of the "Guitar" video for many years, and my favourite section has always been Les Paul and Brian May at "Fat Tuesday's". RIP Les Paul!

  • At the end Brian says "Les Paul will always have my greatest respect - an innovator, a wonderful distinctive player, and an essential pillar in the foundations of modern rock. God bless 'im!! "

  • Brian has a tribute to Les Paul on his website and about this clip he says "you'll see that I'm mostly singing, not playing, like most guitarists did when they were guests at this, his "Fat Tuesday's" club. The reason was I didn't feel worthy of competing! Listening to this, I realize for the first time what lovely counterpoint and detail Les was adding to the song at the time. I was too busy wondering if I could remember all the words, probably!"

  • R.I.P. Les Paul, we loved you and we will never forget you!!!

  • I know. As pathetic as it might sound, I admit I shed a few tears when I heard the tragic news. :-( RIP Les Paul, a true master of music.

  • It's not pathetic, my dear friend. In fact, it's really sad. Such sad lost a genius like him. A truly master of guitar. I think the whole world shed a tear. RIP Les Paul! We love you..

  • Yes, this did happen and I was there. This was filmed at Fat Tuesday's Jazz club in NYC, March 25th, 1991. This video comes from a home video called 'Guitar' that showcased Brian May, Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour and others. Brian only played two songs, this one, called 'Early Morning Blues,' and another, a jam in C.

  • You were THERE?!?

DUDE! I frickin' hate you right now and I don't even know you! :-) Oh, you are a LUCKY person.

  • Lol..it was pretty damn amazing! I happened to be home that afternoon and turned on WNEW FM...and Brian May was in the studio! And just casually mentioned he was playing that night with Les Paul, filming for the Guitar video.

  • I went with my buddy, and wound up hanging with Brian at the bar and sharing a beer and Queen talk and then accompanying him thru the backway kitchen entrance to make sure we'd get in! My buddy mentioned to Brian inside the small jazz club 'not quite Wembley, huh, Brian?' with a wink.

  • Ah, very jealous indeed.

  • Wow seeing that has made my day!

  • Rest In Peace Les!! And thanks for the guitar!!

  • Waaaaay too short... where's the rest of it?

  • Whoa, this is awesome! When was this recorded? Must have been early to mid 90's. Wish it was longer!

  • No...way.

Did that actually happen or was one of them a hologram? :-)

Seriously, though, that's AWESOME! One of the most innovative men in rock 'n' roll, paired with one of the most underrated and pretty damn innovative in his own right, both doing great! WOW!

  • Year pls?

  • brians sounds great,,and as for les paul,,i salute you ,,the man who gave us truely beautiful tone..

  • sounding real good..very cool. i love the blues and Brian May's voice sounds so nice here.

  • what are they playing?

  • two true masters of music. people like brian may and les paul are a dying breed of musicians, forget the jonas brother and hannah bloody montana as long as people like them are about true music will never dye

  • the red special sounds beautiful clean. there again the RS sounds beautiful what ever you do to it!

  • I believe this song is originally by Leadbelly called "Where Did You Sleep Last Night?" But it doesn't sound the same, Leadbelly's is kind darker. You'll know what I mean when you hear it.

  • Very, VERY cool.

  • ........no.

  • add a bit of slash and youve ruined the best combination since sliced bread

  • I need to know WHAT SONG THIS IS PLEASE!!!!

  • Wow! Brian with Les Paul what a duo.

  • I know right?! I couldn't do it, I wouldn'dare pick up a guitar 100ft near anyone of these men, certianly not Paul

  • @kadshah YEAH!!

  • can you guys tell me whats the title of this song and who sang it originally?

  • Wow, go Brian! (After all, I am a huge fan xD)

    Nice vid!

  • Revelations, I would agree with you, but he has horrible authritis in his fingers now. He can only play with 2 fingers. He still plays great. See at him at the Iridium Jazz Club! It's worth it!

  • gosh he's like over 90 right and still performs with two fingers gotta give him props for that. And I love les paul guitars !!

  • But Les Paul himself doesn't like them:)

  • Personally, I vote Les Paul the best living guitarist.

  • love it

  • When was this shot? Is there a full version? Thanks for uploading it! ;)
