@gocolts1490 It's like the inside of a long closet, but everything's metal and if you lose your balance you smack your head on one of a hundred different things in the back or roll out the back door. Not a super fun ride, but the best truck to be on.
really? where are you from? the only Big City in America, the only city that has fire trucks that look like, the toughest, busiest, and most hardcore firefighters in America, its New York City
They also respond 2 confirmed working fires and calls in their still district its like dat in Chicago 4 example Squad 5 AN 5A respond 2 stills in ther district just cuz its in there district
automatic responce for structure fire / alarm calls is often 2 pumps except Central city built up areas are 3 pumps and 1 ladder and special address locations (resthome/stadium ect) can be indivialy set.
In New Zealand the target for all urban areas is 7 minutes from the time the call taker answers the phone to the time the appliance arrives at the incident (with a sub target of less than 1 minute for the station alert and 1 min for paid ff to respond and 4 mins for volunteer to respond)
What things are in Rescue 1 or what kind of attendance they go on?I'm not from USA and in my country is other system fire department. Please help me...
water rescue, trench, high angle, technical, 3rd rail, tunnel, tanks, bridge and other ff tools. hurst obviously. They are called out for all rescue that are deemed special except hazmat which is the responsibility of the squad. They are also called out for larger fires as they have more experience and are better suited to handle larger incidents
A one minute turnout time is excellent especially given the time of day during this video. At my dept the goal is to be en route in less that a minute in a half from the time of dispatch.
It amazes me how people who know jack shit, try to judge the way firefighters and emergency professionals work. There are six guys on that rig who have to don their full turnouts before they can evn get on the rig. 1 minute out the door is a pretty damn good time.
hey mastercraft, the amazing part is when they need to they can be all the way across midtown manhattan in about 4 minutes, during rush hour. Anyone that does any driving in the city knows that can take a half hour sometimes.
ah, it's the old Rescue 1. Was wondering why there seemed to be alot of strobe lights on it, when the new one is mostly LED's. God bless those fallen and bless those who still and will ride her.
mastercraft, are you a firefighter? If not, then shut it. We shoot for a minute in our dept, but if we have to put on full bunker gear, it often takes longer. Especially since we're not required to be fully dressed and seatbelted BEFORE the rig even moves, or we'll get unpaid time off. Guys are getting killed w/o their seatbelts, and the chief decided enough was enough...
Back in the OLD days when 1st due units got "tipped" by telephone on phone alarms before the box went out on the bells, I can remember rolling out the door while the second round of the box was still coming over the bells. Those were days when tables and chairs got knocked over by people running when they heard "3 rings" on the dep't. phone. Nobody turns out like that anymore.
Yea. At my city which is a small town, when we hear the fire tones every one jumps and and runs to the truck, even the cheif is running. So not all of the tradition is gone from firefighting. But it is a little safer the way they do it now, what if you trip over that chair and break your ankle, how can you save a life?
i dont get where you are comming from on that approach? Idk where you are comming from but when your sitting in a restruaunt and you parked the pumper across the street, i think it helps to run.
agreed. Its a so so small town FD. Most of our calls are in mutual aid in the next town over we both have only 2 stations but when we get fires, boy do they burn!
thats awsome, im from californai and work for cal fire, i think after u run some many calls a day the excitment sometimes wears off during a shift, u guys be safe
If you arrive save 1 minute later then everyone else, no one will notice. If you try to save one minute and crash or kill someone on the way there, everyone will notice.
All members of the public, firefighters, and emergency personnel-The `establishment` has failed in their duty to tell you of this.. Google paddyanddollydotnet and read FIREBURN MEDIA ALERT, tell all your friends and,in case of severe fireburn keep that number in your back pocket 24 hours a day.
