@IslamisWar The preamps are built-in to the Tascam US-428, they're ok for a hobby musician like me at this point. But you will be a bit disappointed with the sax/trumpet ... I used a guitar synthesizer with midi pickup on a Fender Strat (that was also stolen with the Ovation). But I loved some of the patches in the synth (Roland GR-33) and hope to get another midi guitar one day. Thanks a lot for all the positive encouragement.

A Tascam Porta Studio CF & US-144 had tepid gain so I fronted with a DBX286, Joe Meek3Q or Art TubeMPStudio for more headroom. For ULTIMATE routing flexibility, FX, great pre & headphone amps, lightpipe & bang for buck, the Emu 1820M with PatchMix rocks! And the sonic improvement from any decent preamp is significant :-)

@IslamisWar In this video, I'm using the Ovation Legend (which was stolen some time later and is now just a memory for me). As for my vocal mic, it's nothing incredible...it's an AKG C 3000 B. I'm recording into Cubase using its plugins and a few I downloaded here and there. Mixing in Cubase and a bit of semi-mastering in Wavelab but not much (unfortunately). No soundcard, using a USB audio interface (Tascam US-428).
@zerobio Sorry you lost your Ovation baby - during travel? Would you buy the same again? I'm on Cubase 5 myself & love the retrospective record. Reaper is amazing too!

@mdmiller64 I often find that with chord sites, they just don't get it right or it doesn't sound right. Let me see if I can list the chords here: Emaj7 / Amaj7 / Dmaj7 (repeat 2x). Emaj7 / Amaj7 / G#7sus4 / G#7 / C#m7 / Bm7 / E7 / Amaj7 / Am7 / G#m7 / C#m7 / F#m7 / B7 or B11 or B7sus4 ... that's the verse
