  • im sorry, but the pres is such a wuss that he would never join anything that would allow regular people to talk to him...

  • You liberals are missing one major concept. Health insurance is not a RIGHT, it is a BENEFIT. If you have a decent job, it probably has HEALTH INSURANCE benefits. If you do not have a job, or a job without health insurance, get a job, or a better job with benefits. Saying that its wrong for a rich person to have better healthcare than a poor person is like saying poor should have the same house or car as a rich person. Do work son. If you want better stuff, work hard and earn it.

  • I am self employed- for 20 years now- and I have been getting reamed by the insurance companies ( legalized gambling with YOUR money) for over 20 years cause my previous employer didn't have health insurance either. I feel I should have the health care as the people in Congress cause I PAY THEIR SALARIES!!!!!!!- YOU TOO NUMBNUTS!- "Do your work son" is a degrading statement to most of the hard working people in the US that DO work hard and all their money goes to is the Pentagon.

  • You're not a business owner are you? You are clueless. You have no idea how much insurance cost to cover each employee and their families. Yet again this year in my state it's going to jump another 24%. We have to let go people to keep ahead or make them pay their own insurance. So when youre sick with cancer is it still not a right to you? and if you survive go luck finding a plan cheap enough for you to live on. 64% jobs in US are small business with terrible insurance plans. Think about it!

  • ignorance.

  • our health care if fine. we need to do something about the American lifestyle, obesity, smoking etc. if someone has an illness related to smoking or being a glutton then why should they be treated for free.

  • I got a plan for lower health care prices. STOP SUEING THE DOCTORS FOR STUPID SHIT! There. Its true the doctors run tests on people that are not nessisary cause if they dont and it just so happens that they should of they get sued. So in order not to get sued the run all sorts of tests to save there own ass from being sued. So make it to where you cant sue the hospitl or doctors for stupid shit. I can understand some situations but not the petty shit.

  • I agree to that, I have a surgery gone wrong and it wasn't life threaten or disability. I didn't sue my doctor because it is was unexpected and not personal. He's a good man and a great doctor why would I want to screw up my relationship with him! I agree with this statement and yes it's one of the reasons the premiums are going up too.

  • when 31Flavors has its Free scoop Tuesdays, the line there is really really long. If the government payed 31 flavors for me, I would get all the ice creme I wanted! but I imagine they wouldn't innovate new flavors if there was no monetary reward for it. If they didn't compete with other ice creme places, I'm sure their prices would never go down. There would also be less incentive to not eat so much damn ice creme.

  • Sounds like NO single payer!!!!!!!!!

  • Never said it was no single payer. The problem is people like you though out words like "socialist" and think "communist" with all the 1950 Cold War connotations attached. You know nothing about socialized medicine probably because you're fortunate enough not to be or know anyone who needs extensive treatments YET. There is an wide variety of socialized medical plans in the world, ALL of which are affordable for EVERYONE. That's the only difference. I pay much less per year than any US citizen.

  • DoMadrid:

No not presume to know anything about me. Do you know the 10 tenants which make a Marxist takeover possible. If not look them up and think!

  • i agree with you. communism is not synonymous to socialism; those who are against socialized medicine have either enough money for insurance or have been lucky enough to have never run into any level of illness themselves (as soon as they did, however, they'd be socialized health care's greatest advocate); and i too living in canada pay much, MUCH less money per year while also receiving excellent health care as well as the security in knowing that my ass is always covered.

  • Yes, that settles my mind too. It's a real pity that the more fortunate people who can afford insurance and are still employed don't see that they're paying much more for much less all in the name of some ideology that isn't interested in them. I'm a bit fatigued by it all but peeved that people don't see the history behind why the US is in the shape it's in. Seems like a ploy getting ready to blame Obama, completely forgetting the Texasshole who just left Washington. Digital Civil War anyone?

  • Depends on the self employed specially if you have a heart for your employees and you are not in the 500 club or even the 50k club either. It's the ones who don't that don't have a problem with this system as it is now.

  • I have been thinking for years to become a Canadian and live there especially after this year of stupid nonsense reasons not to have a health care for all. If they don't do something by November and there's no improvement than I will see you all soon, AH :)

  • When I hear non-US people speak about this issue it sounds as if they don't have a complete understanding of the system. That's understandable. But I would like to point out that the U.S. government is already heavily involved in health insurance, despite the propaganda that is out there. The US government spends about 50% of all health care dollars inside its country.

  • I'm an American who lives outside of the US, which means I see it from both inside and outside. Heavily involved? What the hell does that mean when there are people who determine who and how you get heath care simply because of profit. You sound like someone who is insured who doesn't need medical care yet or are richer than the rest and partake in this type of discussion to justify something or another. That's what I always hear from those who advocate profit-taking insurance policies.

  • do you people think that money for all this just appears out of no where? either way it comes from OUR pockets, whether it leaves through high taxes or directly. obama is going to run this country right into the ground.

  • bodom0593

Yes with this and cap and trade we will be the third world.

  • bodom0593:

    Apparently they don't understand that.........

  • 20-30 seconds....

  • Your system keeps decisions in the hands of insurers. How do you think insurers are motivated? Your system does nothing to thwart overuse of tests and procedures with creative coding on a fee for service level. Nothing to stem defensive medicine. Doctors profits are already regulated on all levels by fed, state and insured. Are Italy, France, Britain, Canada, Germany, Japan, etc all "Marxist" countries? Their residents all have longer lifespans than we do. And you are aiming for that as you say.

  • docger14:

Most of the countries you mention are socialist or Marxist light. In re: to md profits; you are referring to MD's you take medicare and medicade?

Who do you think should set premium prices for insurance companies? Do you think the government should set salaries for anyone outside of the government?

    My ideas would stimulate competition!

  • Scarlett, . I have been involved in health care for forty years in univ, military and community hospital settings

, been a patient and have a 97 year old Mother who has failed family care, home health aide care and is in a NH, having spent down all her funds and now being supported by Medicaid. Insurance agents led her to believe she had long term care insurance. She did not. We need CARE, not COVERAGE

My plan eliminates insurance. Direct provider-patient care. Signing off. We shall not agree

  • Doc ger14:

I am very sorry for your Mom and whoever did this to her is the lowest form of humanity. Have you been to

the state department of insurance? An attorney?

  • I believe we need care and coverage. I think medicaid stinks....... kind of like old time welfare. No one should have to give up everything they own to receive care and you have no way of knowing that will not happen with a new (and unknown) governmental plan.

  • Have you not heard of what happens to the elderly in "socialist" countries. They are not properly valued. It is also a shame that she can not be taken care of at home, Bless her heart. As stated previously, I don't believe in nursing homes unless a person needs constant (24 hour) medical care and no one in the family has the proper medical training or there is no family.

  • This is simply not true. You are listening to propaganda that advocates health care for profit. The medical nightmares that occur in Europe are certainly NO worse than those in the States. You're misinformed.

  • This was a reply to what ScarletKnights has written, not to this video.

  • DoMadrid:

There is more coverage for the indigent; however their healthcare is inferior which is why if they can afford it they come here for treatment of serious medical conditions.

  • Once again, not true, but only the propaganda that the profit-making States is telling you. The EU standards and practices are trusted more in the world simply because it's not a profit-making industry. The rich Europeans that come to the States also believe this myth and thus go there. HOWEVER, that is a select population who believe the same American "illusion" of being the best. I love the States, what it used to be and can still be, but it's rested too long on its laurels and has much to do.

  • DoMadrid:

Do you think the people from Europe are stupid? They are not, and that is why they come here for healthcare. GET A CLUE.

  • You're side-tracking, which is typical of a troll. I'm feeding a troll here. Well, at least I'm happily covered by any medical facility in the world with my $150.00/month not-for-profit Dutch health care insurance coverage. Yep, anywhere in the world and I'll stay right here on the European continent.

  • It is amazing how many people have just set up accounts today or someone has done so for them and are joining this "debate." How did this happen, especially for people who wouldn't usually youtube. Simply amazing.

I'm not troll........... but you might be a shill

  • You're a forum troll who wants to instigate debate without proper facts. I joined YT days before this posting and discovered it though my membership here; not the other way around. But then again, you can't listen to reason, you think your mock blind-date-with-Obama-video is useful info. How serious can we take jungle-red lipstick white trash in a political debate? Just go to the mall where you belong. There must be a sale somewhere so you can fill your best-country-in-the-world needs.

  • DoMadrid:

You have no videos and apparently no knowledge. Jealous, pathetic, rude FT know nothing.

  • Your ideas also crew over a large amount of the people in the united states. Stop labeling these proven ideas as marxism, this isnt god-damn socialism, the media has taught you to be afraid of socialism because it promotes its corporate benefactors.

It is immoral to benefit off illness like the "Competitive" Medical insurers do. I would rather be marxist than dead.

  • 1170bxl:

Please do not address with and curse the Lord, thank you.

b/t/w/ hundreds of millions of people, including Marxist are dead at the hands of Marxists through executions, prison camps, fatal deportations, purges, labor camps, man made famine, mass genocide, show trials and the like)

  • You have been brainwashed by the media to hate socialism because socialist ideas, the good ones, would weaken the corporate elite that has such control over the US. And weak minded people like you buy it and preach about ideologies they don't even know about.

  • 117obxl:

How egocentric to assume that I don't understand politics and government. I majored in PS.

Take the comments you made about and look in the mirror, they belong to you.

Marxists murdered over 100 million people, f/t

  • Egocentric? I am confronting you about the fact that you randomly and blatantly yell socialism this and marxism that.

it is egocentric to believe that you know about everything and are dead sure socialist policies would make us all evil communists.

Of course they are my comments I MADE THEM. God, you must have gotten your PS degree from a cereal box.

There is also a difference between socialism and marxism. Universal healthcare does not mean we send people to labor camps.

    Grow up

  • 1170bxl:

You are so ignorant, insulting, and such a total waste of time that you are not worth my time. Good bye

  • Socialism is evil as it requires coercion against producers to fund its largess.

  • LOL. I always hear this, but where is the proof? Where is all the corporate propaganda? Besides stupid right-wing political shows, everything you hear is pro-socialized medicine. Hell, WALMART even came out in favor of universal health care.

  • 1170bxl:

Are you joking, do you understand that socialism is a construct of Marxism, the transition between capitalism and communism. Yes, it is something to be feared and something we have shed blood and treasure to keep out of our country. GET A CLUE

  • There is a distinct difference between Marxist Russia in the early 20th century and the modern day socialist European countries that we should model our healthcare after.

i am sick and tired of people screaming marxism when the whole idea of universal healthcare is simply to help people. This has absolutely nothing to do with prison camps or anything else.

  • You sound paranoid. You will not need to worry about socialism or marxism at the rate this country is borowing money from china. All you'll need to worry about is speaking chinese.

  • xbiglewx:

Yet we are the greatest, most successful country in the world... hummmmmmmmmm

    Who is ignorant

  • Your just arrogant!

  • Policies for those with pre existing conditions, on par with group policies, in other words also pooled into groups on par with group rates offered to companies and corps with the extra cost to the insurance companies reimbursed by the state.

  • Thank you, Ms Scarlett.

Re the questioning - OK before the election. No longer relevant unless you want to stagnate government with impeachment proceedings.

Re your plan -thank you for a positive proposal. Does nothing to eliminate huge insurance profits and overhead (30% vs 3%). Does little to provide care to the poor, underinsured or uninsured. Does nothing to eliminate parasites (billing, coding, provider fraud, insurance fraud and overtesting to avoid the lawyers.) I see no cost decrease

  • docger14

I don't want to regulate profit from doctors or business, that would amount to Marxism. Actually

the ideas I proposed: cuts premiums for small business (decrease) , self employed (decrease), and those with pre existing conditions (decrease) and keeps most people out of nursing homes (huge decrease), which also saves money, but more importantly extends life and most of these ideas stimulate competition (decrease).

I DON'T want the fed controlling our lives or commerce.

  • Abolition of nursing homes except for extreme cases where home care is impossible in favor of home care where caregivers (whether family members are skilled care provided by private companies) are reimbursed by the state in lieu of the horrific cost of nursing home care and loss of life due to nursing home abuse and depression of the patients.

  • You want extra costs to insurance companies reimbursed by the State.. Why do insurance companies rate that favoritism? There are already Home Health Agencies that do what they can. Totally insufficient for a large number of seniors. I know that only too well -it is not theory. Patchwork remedies will not reduce the cost -simply shift it. Profit must not be a primary driver in healthcare. Our lives are too important.

If you would update your video to policy issues, it would help.

  • Abolition of the medicare prescription bill which we can NOT afford, replaced, perhaps with a voucher system based upon income for those who ACTUALLY need it and tax breaks to corps. who provide cost breaks.

Lowered prescription costs for all based up the cost they are sold to other countries.

  • In regard to healthcare; the changes I would like to see are state regulations, absolutely no more federal controls or regulations or growth of the federal government. 1) pooling of policies into groups..... such as large business and corps receive so that the premiums are on par so that small business will be created and flourish.

  • Thank you for telling the truth. I work in a hospital. Daily, I witness treatments and tests being performed because physicians fear litigation. It needs to stop!

  • Foolish Limbaugh addled government haters. How is it possible for the government to do a worse job with health care than the "private sector" has done already? there are SO many greedy people with their greedy fingers in the pocket of the American health care system, it's disgusting. Who's the dumbass above who said "move to Canada"? How many Canadians do you see moving here to get away from their horrible socialist health care system? NONE! They have better care, and pay half what we do.

  • what country have you been working in?? peer reviewed salary?? HAHA the quality of care will drop dramatically. Policing peers in the medical field -come on guy get real. Why don't you move to Canada if you think it is so great.

  • SUMMARY: Health care operating as a commodity, for-profit model fails.

30% of health care insurance dollars go to administration, overhead, advertising costs , etc...and corporate's PROFITS. Incentives to increase profits, bonuses will drive people to COME UP WITH ANYTHING to cut costs

  • I truly believe if we got government out of the equation prices would drop drastically.

As an example, when I was 21 cracked my head open whilst under the influence of alcohol. I paid around $450 per suture. I asked several people how much this would cost and could never get an answer. Finally a nurse while in the exam room told me I should expect a $1000 dollar bill. It ended up being $2,000. With a universal plan tax payers would be paying for my mistake.

Why was there not another option?

  • This is on the right track! Profit motive must be taken out of the equation. Healthcare should not be used as a for profit business.

  • Half the health budget today is paying for psychotropic drugs - anyone who cares to look at the science behind this incredible drain on our resources, and the human destruction left in its wake, would be shocked at the social burden the 'mental health' industry has saddled the public with. With an underlying, fundamentalist belief that some mysterious physiological / genetic force ultimately controls us, baseless and totally unproven claims of 'chemical brain imbalance' must be stopped!!

  • docger14 I can't help but notice that the people who agree with you or are at least sympathetic to your ideas mostly post thoughtful, intelligent thoughts that are based on life experience or insight, while those that disagree are simplistic or derogatory. I get in lots of internet arguments with hard right types and find that they usually shut up once you challenge them with intelligent debate! It is such a repeating pattern it dismays me. I was really hoping to have my ideas challenged.

  • Social system is what your talking about. You can call it something else.

Yes we have advanced tech. but once cost and other issues of savings come into play. We will gravitate to the level care like Canada has. My Canadian relatives agree with me the American level of care is superior. We need to put limitations in what lobbyist groups influence can do to the Washington Political machine. So far transparency in government is still the same as usual.

  • So quasi governmental organizations can toy with our lives and look for excuses to not cover us, but when the government steps in it's communism or is doomed to failure by virtue of being government run at all? Why is it okay for the government to provide a military to protect us from foreign threats but not okay for the government to create a health care infrastructure to at least provide an option outside of the corporate sphere? Corps. for profit, they could care less about us.

  • sonicsout:

The two party system is who can care less about us. For them, it is about votes and/or pushing a socialst system down our throats and taken away our liberty

  • Yes but with them at least we have a vote. Look, it can't be all government regulation or all corporate rule, there has to be a balance and WE have to watchdog it. Obama is not leading us to socialism he is just trying to bring balance back after Reaganomics 30 year corporate rule has ruined us. The gap between rich and poor is growing bigger and bigger because of corporate greed. I don't trust the gov't either but we need to tell them to stand up for us and stop being corporate lackeys!

  • sonicnout:

    1) We have no vote on overthrowing our healthcare sytem in favor of universal healthcare

    2) Universal healthcare = socialism,

cap and trade = socialism, green styled

    3) both equal loss of liberty

    4) I'm not a communist, so the gap between rich and poor doesn't matter to me,however, murdering the middle class with a huge tax burdeon does. I don't believe in punishing people for success

    5) Any "abuses" in healthcare could be addressed w/o universal socialist healthcare

  • Sympathize re some government programs. Some VA hospitals affiliated with University hospitals are superb. Some not so good. I served in a Naval Hospital during Viet Nam and the care was very good for active duty, retired and dependents. I think most folks who reach age 65 and go on Medicare plus some coinsurance (AARP, etc.) are happier than when they had either no insurance or an HMO limiting their choices.

Salaried providers at Mayo may be a different breed than at the VA. Depends on person.

  • I work 8hours a day and pay my bill and taxes. But I cant aford heath insurnts. So when I get sick, I have had to sit in the emergency room for 9 hours to see a doctor. See, people that have great health care, just dont get it. They have never had a tooth ace and had to go to a free clinic and wait 8 hours, to see a dentist. Only to have them yank out your tooth, to stop the pain. Because they dont do fillings. The britts have great health care and there's is free. So dont believe the RIGHT!

  • He's old on medicare and you know the old saying...misery loves company.

  • This man is communist! He needs to live in China! You are not American! You are communist! Move to China idiot! Commie!

  • One of the better commentaries I've viewed. I think that we have to still make health care a "beneficial" career choice but we also need to limit insurers participation in, if not direct dictation of care and care standards.

If you want to see a true joke, evaluate the workmen's compensation "system" in new jersey but that's a whole other ball game . That's more collusion than parasitic.

  • Comment removed

  • The question was 4 minutes of communism! He should have to live in CHINA!

  • The britts have a great health care sistom. And they have free health care. It is a mith to say that we have better health care. Try sitting in a emergency room for 8 hours, just to see a doctor. Iv done it, not having health care in this country sucks.

  • Your spelling is terrible! Even immigrant from China spell better than you! Are you child?

  • Yeah Right.... this guy is a Doctor, sure. I think if he is, he's a dentist or a optomologist who would benefit from this type of system. Nice shirt "Doc". Thousand of Canadians come here to Cleveland every year for health care. The answer is limits to lawsuits.

  • Wrong. An internist/cardiologist who has suffered under paperwork for 40 years. Hours and hours in a CCU saving lives only to be compensated. either not at all or minimum wage. Re the shirt - now semi-retired and allowed, I hope, to sit in front of the computer on a Sunday morning. RE lawsuits....only part of the problem. Much more complex. Texas has a cap yet care in some towns there cost twice as much as the national average.

  • Glad to see some people in the medical field on our side and one that realizes the costs of those who must seek out care. Hope your semi-retirement is turning out well.

  • Thank you. After doing this video, I have been called everything from a child molester to a communist. Can see why running for office requires a thick skin Thicker than I have.. Lot of whiners and unhappy folks out there.

  • Doctors aren't allowed dressing comfortably at home? What, you think health care professionals wear white lab coats all the time?

  • So do people from all over the U.S. And all over the world, its because the cleveland clinic is the best place to go for serton things. That doesnt mean the rest of are hospitals are any better then Can. Dont believe the RIGHT, the britts have a great health care sistom. And I know people that go to Canada. And lie, and say they are from there just to get health care. Are sistom sucks! If your poor!

  • Private Insurance is ALREADY "Mandated & Privatized Communism for OBSCENE profit". Eliminating these bloodsucking private insurers for ALL insurance activities not limited to medical will HARDLY be considered communism so much as removing Private Malfeasance and profiteering off those who experience misfortunes. Civilization is moving FORWARD not backwards by eliminating the illegal monopoly of corporate conglomerates from the basic rights and guarantees agreed as necessary by the population.

  • How has the government proven that they will do a better job than the "greedy corporations"? I can't think of a single service that improved when the government took it over.

Why should we give up control of more of our lives to an inefficient government? I seriously thought the democratic party supported a women's right to choose how to treat her body. Why is it now OK to force everyone to abide by government regulations on how to treat their bodies? THIS IS ILLOGICAL.

  • And who do you complain to? big government? They don't even listen to our comments unless they agree. They have turned off the comments on Mr. O's commercial because of so many negative comments. Obama will make the rules, he will be nice at first and if he doesn't like what you ask, he will turn you off. He has a very thin skin.

  • So a hospital would get paid like a fire department does today: you have one check a month that pays for the entire operation, and that means you can eliminate the huge billing apparatus of the hospitals and the doctors offices where were employing many people to do our billing.

simply put your money would go to yourself not giving insurance vampires record profit

  • But their bills go to the government insurance program, just as they do today with Medicare, but wed be able to streamline the payment system if we had only one payer instead of Medicare being one among many.

  • Its what we used to call national health insurance, so government collects the money for health care from taxes. You dont pay premiums instead, you pay taxes, [which] pays all the bills. Hospitals remain privately owned and operated. Doctors remain mostly in private practice.

  • yes obliterate pi companies they promiss 2 bill in savings over ten years we could save 4 bill in one year with out them and do away with the 30% administrative cost . bill moyers interviewed dr. david hemelstien (harvard dr.) and dr. sidney wolfe that video shows how rediculous people against single payer really are

  • your plan is retarded, will bankrupt our nation, provide horrible care, and tax ppl more than they already pay, which for those successful few is an arm and a leg..plz shutup kindly b4 you infect the rest of us with ignorance

  • obliteration of private insurance companies? we should let the government decide for us what healthcare benefits we receive? so we should do it like France?

who has bankrupt it's government while providing horrible care for patients, it takes months to get an mri for example, and only one such machine may be available in the entire region...

  • Corporations are literally running our healthcare right now - it's not right. I'm fine with the government stepping in.

  • Look at the channel info......... SHILL????? lol

  • Are you a Klan spokesperson?

  • docger14:

Well that comment wouldn't prove my question, now would it; lol ?

Those who possess the discipline and patience to complete medical school and in turn uphold the professional and ethical standards required by the state and sworn to under the Hippocratic Oath are not likely to show extreme regional prejudice by characterizing fellow citizens as "Klan spokespersons," based upon the fact that said citizen is from the south (regional prejudice) NOT Marxists!

  • I am just wondering, if you don't want the government "kindergardening" our lives, then you feel more comfortable with for profit insurance companies deciding what's best for us? and I suppose you think that government protected rights that have come about through the "r" word, Regulation are bad? rights like the womans right to vote? Child labor laws? the 8 hour workday? weekends? If the private sector was allowed to run rampant then we would all be working 16 hour days, 7 days a week.

  • Sonicsnout:

Again, I am in favor of a true republic, small government, states rights, and liberty.

I want to US out of the UN and the UN out of the US. I believe we should allow the market to take care of itself.

Are you really comparing child labor law and voting rights with giving up liberty and all rights to socialist programs like universal healthcare and cap and trade?

B/T/W there are exceptions to child labor and overtime.

    B/T/W sufferage is an amendment

  • Yes but socialists were instrumental in supporting womens suffrage and child labor laws. There are common sense exceptions that allow children to work with parental permission at the age of 16 which I think is great. But if you support the 8 hour workday, weekends, child labor protections, and oh yeah, if you have a library card then you are in support of at least some socialist policies. Socialism is not a dirty word, it just needs to be applied with common sense, as in the above examples.

  • Women's sufferage is not a socialist regulation, it is an amendment. If some who supported it were socialist that still does not make the amendment socialst.

Labor law is certainly not Socialist/Marxist............. look at Marxist countries......... children certainly work! Again, not socialist

Socialism/Marxism are dirty words....... do you have any idea how many people were murdered (purged) to force Marxism down the throats of people?

  • sonicsnout:

It comes down to this. We would not have the greatest country in the world were it not for our liberty, our republic.

Once that is taken away we will not have the means to invent, produce and create ........... we will be at the mercy of the government.

Liberty is a gift bestowed upon us by blood and sweat and should not be thrown away like yesterday's news.

You have some nice video's, however, we'll never agree politically. Good luck

  • I would agree with you on liberty. I served in the military in order to defend our liberty. Many do not understand liberty and that is the problem which divides us. There are those who take advantage of the liberty offered by gaming the system. Lazy, uneducated takers who, given the chance, suck the system dry. These are not all welfare recipents who are able bodied but also those on the other end who say "I have mine, so %^$#@ you." A sense of the golden rule might bring us together.

  • docger14:

We will never agree in regard to socialized medicine but I do thank you for your service to our country.

  • It is government regulation that has allowed us these freedoms. You'd prefer it if the captains of industry still had us living in mining towns, and if we strike for better rights the Pinkertons come in and gun us down, all nice and legal? You think the government shouldnt interfere when meat packing plants go ahead and ship out the meat that has some human in it cuz some guy fell in the grinder? Read your history.

  • sonics:

I believe in states rights and small government. I believe in liberty and freedom. Are you really comparing worker abuse of 100 years ago with socialism?

  • I don't understand the question. Did you even read what I wrote? I'm just saying that government regulation isn't all bad. Sometimes it guarantees our freedoms, not take them away. The corporate owners would prefer to do away with regulation that protects us from abusive work hours, child labor, etc. If it weren't for government regulation, those blights would still be upon our society. I agree that government regulation should not be accepted blindly, but used wisely to keep us free.

  • Most governmental regulation takes away liberty. What regulation guarantees freedom for all equally (regulation, not amendments)

Exceptions to child labor laws still exist. Over regulation has sent American jobs overseas.

How much are you willing to give up and pay for universal healthcare and cap and trade? Are you willing to give up our republic so we are all socialist?

  • Have a Gun Shot Wound to the head...well your going have to wait behind the guy that has a hangnail...Government couldn't run a whore house

  • Also, if the program is so great then why has he and congress elected to be exempt from it???

  • GOOD QUESTION!

  • If Obama signs up his family and cannot change his mind, then sign me up. If not, I think I will pass.

  • Further comment: If I am a health care consumer and employed, it matters little to me if I am paying for my health care thru an income tax or if I am paying a premium to an insurance company which has a 30% overhead and pays its CEO millions of dollars to devise ways not to pay my costs when the rubber meets the road.. It also does not matter to me if I pay income tax for my health care or if my employer has to pay it and reduces my salary accordingly.. Chances are my employer would not fold.

  • Wow, spoken like a true physician;

  • Very Well Done..I concur..these other people do not understand and fear what they do not know.

  • Watch Obama Decetption videos he is a puppet

  • Ganxiba, oh really/?

    Decetpittation?

  • Outcome that is less expensive?

That's nearing impossible my friend, especially at the future we are looking at. This is better then how things are going so it needs to be implemented immediately in my opinion. Anything is better then the $65,000 USD for a lung transplant you guys are paying now.

    Not good enough?

Well it's something, at least you have that.

  • I am interested in this response because it has some research to back it's opinion up. I think its points are quite valid. I need more information to really form an opinion. First of all, I need to know exactly what the reform being proposed might be or encompass.

  • You sir are a sheep. You have no opinion for yourself for you read someone elses thoughts off the screen this whole video. Did you not learn anything in your life? NOTHING IS FREE! And this screwing of Americans Obama is doing comes with a price too. If you or anyone else in this country dont like how its always been done then leave. No one wants your destructive thinkers here anyways.

  • To the owner of the account Hydron27,

Your response to this video is a prime example of the ignorance that has infected our country. Although it is well known that the Internet's anonymity qualities can bring out the drunken dog in some people, there are no excuses for your shallow-minded statements. Your "love it or leave it" mentality is not the answer to ANY problems, and the rest of the country is evolving beyond such a primitive mindset.

  • No, all the ideas are my own. I look at the screen instead of the webcam and have a bit of myesthenia of the eyelids. I do not advocate FREE care if you review the video again. Constructive proposals based on decades of experience should not equate with your proposal for me to leave the country. I would welcome your thoughts on healthcare

  • Hydron27:

    Excellent 5 stars

  • 5 stars to Hydron or 5 stars to the video? Hydron27 is a fucking moron.

  • sonicsnout:

    5 stars to Hydron

zero stars for the video, zero stars for you

  • So this guy who has 40 years of experience as a medical professional, his opinions are of no value? But Hydron 27 comes in with his draconian, simplistic "love it or leave it" bs, offers no credible options, and gets rebuked? What do you geniuses suggest someone who is unemployed do who can't afford coverage for themselves or their kids? If we could cut the fraud and abuse in defense industry we could easily pay for health care for all.

  • sonicsnout:

Do you believe that a person who spends 40 years as a physician would discriminate and call a person a Klan person because they are from the south and disagree with them.............. come on

    Let's see some proof

hummmmmm someone who is unemployed may apply for medi. which is already funded, do you suggest that we all give up our liberty for socialist programs that rob us of our liberty and money? If so, why?

  • Scarlett, Perhaps my reference to you as a Klan spokesperson was too harsh. More like a Joe McCarthy inquisition. I think your video must predate the election otherwise it makes no sense since the voters have already vetted our president.

On the matter of healthcare, I would like your ideas for change (everyone seems to feel change is needed - all 164 in the Obama audience raised their hands including the arch conservative HMO CEOs who are multimillionaires devising ways to avoid payment).

  • doc ger14

You really like to throw around stereotypical liberal insults "McCarthy" "Klan" "inquisition" "arch conservative" Personal insults very rarely lead to respectful communication! B/T/W I'm not a member of either party

Really........ McCarthy; lol....... Marxists and fascists disallow questioning the government. The democrats spent 8 years trying to destroy Bush but merely questioning Obama is McCarthyism; lol
