  • what happened?

  • Air Data Inertial Reference Unit still has software bugs

  • I'm training to be a flight attendant and we have to watch these kinds of things and worse... sounds like the crew ion this light did a great job given the sitation. We you ok??

  • What happened again?

  • They didnt need to evacuate moron! The plane landed safely....

  • It's amazing how during an incident people have the time and nerve to get the camera out and start recording. Don't worry about the evacuation, just keep filming.

Actually you should just stand there blocking the exits filming whilst people are trying to evacuate!

  • @hothothotmale man, does it look like they are being told to evacuate? no they are being told to keep the way clear for the paramedics.

  • The Plane Landed At Learmonth Airport Near Exmouth

  • wtf, a nosedive, could it have been a microburst?

  • @praetorian2150 Nope, Microbursts are low altitude occurrences, and have slightly differing effects on the aircraft. This was caused by a malfunction of the autopilot during cruise, nothing to do with meteorological conditions.

  • yea.. alway fasten ur seatbelt whenever your seated. but if you fly within any city in Indonesia by any Indonesian airlines except Garuda you can find lot of the passengers don't fasten their seatbelt and even they can texting while the aircraft was still enroute.

and even when the aircraft just landed the passenger just stand up and open the overhead compartment

  • @dannycis461 Every airline has their share of incidents, it's not just qantas that has this sort of incident, a few years before an air france flight had a computer malfuntion that sent the plane plunging into the earth, if you ask me I think that nearly all qantas incidents were the manufacturer's/plane's fault.

  • That's why I don't like Airbuses....they're front wheel drive....

  • @krugerblue What? Airbuses and Boeings are propelled through the air via the engines, and taxi using engines at low airspeed...

  • @krugerblue lol. I'll pay that one.

  • Haha. I think the take home message is:

When fly Qantas, buckle up at all times.

This crap never happens on airlines like singapore. Its pretty characteristic of Qantas.

  • i talked to a QF engineer on the flight deck while towing an aircraft at Perth and he said that the computer didnt allow the pilot to make any input with the flight controls. only after shutting down the computer on the overhead panel, the pilots were able to fly the aircraft again. it might have been a disaster if they didnt shut down that computer

  • @chrisklein21 To err is human. To really foul things up requires a computer.

  • Why are they doing the nose dive???

  • live your second life well people.

  • Haha good way to put it

  • well... to those who dont keep seatbelts fastened even when the seatbelt sign is off, wake the fuck up! they dont tellyou to keep it fastened at all times for no reason.

  • your camera is beyond loud

  • @02Nawal ahahah i dunoo why but thats funny as fuck!:L

  • sure is

  • @02Nawal thank you bud you made me chuckle!

  • Medic said he knew it was gonna be fun when he walked on plane and all he could smell was puke! Fun flight!

  • boooooooorrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing

  • Anybody here from Exmouth?

  • Oooh, are those busted ceiling panels from people getting smashed into them??

  • Hello!Wow I must say!People was so scary after it happen in the flight.=(

But the captain and crew saved many peoples life either!=)

They did a great job!Its not so light to fly with a aircraft and it so can happen a aircraft can have a nose-dive..=(

It can not help it.The aircraft are only a machine so all aircraft can happen but they have very good safe either=(

But I am so please give you 5 star for the video!=)

    Greeting TheCARRE74=)

  • Why did the plane nose dive?

  • hmm when i see the plane form inside i can say there was very strong turbulence..:(/

  • must of been a "shit in barf bag" experience

  • I know the video is shaky and has very little action but it is compelling nonetheless. You can see how everybody was in a daze, especially in the silence of the passengers. They just survived a near-death experience. I think the Air France flight that just crashed endured a similar problem with its plane's computer malfunction. Unfortunately, the results were far more tragic.

  • Sorry for the Passengers and families of AirFrance flight on AirBus330 which is similar to QF72 that plunged in midair. There was Engineering Note on computer programmings sent by Airbus to its customers after the investigation. It was very obvious that there were 'computer problems' on QF72 which the pilot somehow overcame, thank God.

  • The ADIRU's installed in the Airbus 330 during the incidents involving flights QF71 and QF72 were manufactured by Northrop Grumman whereas the ADIRU installed on Air France flight 447 was manufactured by Honeywell.

  • @ksyoutude how did the roofs panels get damaged?

  • PEOPLE SHUD HAVE SEAT BELTS ON WHILE SEATED!!!!! ..but they never listen

  • Yo idiots - wikipedia Qantas Flight 72 and read all about it

  • whats up with that plane? the ceeling was damaged? omg

  • I can see the ceiling tiles have been dislocated. What caused the nose-dive?

  • All this waiting and no drinks served? Yeah, THANKS Qantas.

  • its a bit hard to serve drinks when prob most of em werer spilled in the galley cause of nose dives.

  • Just another example of why Airbus should let the pilots fly the plane! The computers are taking over the cockpit rather than just being advisors!

  • True. You might want to look into XL flight 888T which it now seems crashed because of a similar problem - uncommanded pitch up by the coputer on a full autopilot landing approach, then possibly the computer overriding the pilots and attempting to correct the resulting stall by going nose down - this recovered the stall, but the aircraft never made any attempt to pull out of the descent.

  • @squirrelnut1965 Boeing have computers flying the plane now too. Get some knowledge. Computerised planes have far better safety records too.

  • @squirrelnut1965 um, no. I'm not sure about this accident, but I have seen several incidents involving the airbus fly by wire system, all because the pilots wern't properly trained. Fly by wire is great, the pilots just have to be informed how and when it interferes, so they know and can predict it and then know what's going on when it does.

  • wow im glad no one died but still sad to hear 70 people go injured.......

  • some turbulence ? you dint see the loose panels and i dont mean the bag spaces.

Never had that in any flight, thank god or someone that does exisct

  • Incorrect.

First of all, it was not turbulence, there was a failure with the "inertial reference system" - in airplane speak, its a computer that instructs the systems on emergency compensatory maneuvers - in other words, if it detects a stall, it will automatically compensate by pushing the nose down.

In this case, the system malfunctioned, and did not one, but two very sudden downward nose motions. That's how so many people were injured - and seriously.

  • And secondly, Qantas has never had a JET passenger aircraft fatality; they had some prop aircraft crash fatalities during World War II while it operated as an extension of the Allied Forces in World War II. There were also additional incidents with said aircraft postwar.

  • you play runescape.

    lmao

  • "This is nothing" Hey simple jack Runescape idiot, you have no idea what you're talkin about.

It wasn't turbulence and a lot of people including small children got injured cause they got smacked up into the panels.

  • was the dive scary?

  • I think the passengers were very lucky to be on a QF operated flight! If it was Virgin they would have handed out homebrand bandaids and told everyone to shut up!

  • i was in exmouth when that happened

  • Latest News - Qantas jets collide at maintenance base. Two Qantas jumbo jets, one of which was damaged in a mid-air explosion in July, collided on the ground at a maintenance base on Tuesday, the airline said.

I wonder who is the lucky one that is going to sit onto that 17 years old plane with series of'injury'.

  • I hate the damn news gimps, "In other news a Qantas aircraft plummeted over ten billion feet in what passengers are calling magic, bad news after Qantas hired that wizard to do their maintenance" Typical of journalists to blow things out of proportion, in the same week a REX aeroplanes nose wheel fell off but it failed to even MAKE the news! Ignorance sucks.

  • Amen to that, fucking media assholes intent on publishing every tiny glitch the worlds most experienced airline has.

  • scary :)

  • wot a waste of space

  • Qantas seriously needs to re-think their decissions of relocating maintenance departments and laying off excessive numbers of Australian workers within the company. We all know there are issues like fuel, payment, etc. but it's too much of a gamble for an airline that hasn't had a fatal crash yet.

  • Any aircraft can be struck by turbulence. You should be congratulating Qantas and the crew for the outstanding job they did in a difficult situation.

  • It wasn't turbulence! Fault in the A330!

  • You are remarkably well informed. Better informed even than the Australian CAA, professionalm pilots, the American FAA and the authorities in the Phillipines. Just what is your hidden agenda?

  • No agenda, just what was reported by various media. Nothing to to with weather.

  • Was a fault with the Air Data Inertial Reference Unit (ADIRU), which caused the autopilot to dissconnect and erroneous data to be sent to the flight controll computers.

  • It is a Qantas REQUIREMENT that your seatbelt is fastened whenever seated. Shame people ignore it.

  • what sort of fall was it?? 154000 views in 4 days:) gotta be happy with that:)!!!!!

  • all these Aussies hate having criticism of their Outsourced airline engineering cheapskates, Whinging Aussies, Qantas is a busted flush you Bruces and Sheilas better find another way to get about , with your digiridoos

  • Qantas is great, don't be rude!

  • Next time dont make a comment based on sterotypes of Australian people. There is nothing wrong with Qantas. Think how many airlines have had fatal crashes. Now think how many have Qantas had thats right 0!!!!!

  • quantas sucks

  • It's Qantas, and they're rated the safest airline in the world, with no fatalities. Every airline has the occasional safety incident - it's just unlucky that Qantas has a few incidents / accidents in the past few months.

There is no reason not to trust Qantas.

  • learn how to spell qantas before insulting it mate:)

  • are you sure the incident is not caused by an idiot keeping his cell phone on?!?

  • wouldnt cars fail too if we had cell phones on in the car

and dont forget metros and subways...

  • There is no scientific evidence that cell phones effect planes.

  • Possibly the WORST camera person EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wtf... the plane there is starting to fall apart.

  • He didn't turn his cellphone off.

  • he might have had a phone that you can make plane safe, mine does it so you can make video's or play games. it switches everything else off that makes it a phone so it's ok.

  • So when someone says, "What's up?" to you, I bet you say, "The sky!" and I bet you think it's really funny.

    It's not.

  • wtf????? lol what the hell are you on about? i was only making a point that you can make some phones plane safe.

  • why do people think it's a good idea to hold their video camera sideways?!

  • what was the incident? that the battery ran out on the phone?

  • what kind of plane?

  • When you call people fag, it lets everyone know you're an ignorant child.

  • heybuddy61, fag...

  • WOW MAN ! but u should have recorded before LOL when the plane was in the air like after the shit happened LOL.

  • i hear someone jerking off

  • haha so do I

  • video sucks more details

  • lol it was just some turbulence.... that's why they say that you have to wear your seatbelts at all time.... it's not the company it's just there own fault

  • Wear your seat belt at all times!

  • qantas No more they are short changing you on safety , NEVER fly with qantas again Dangerous I know an engineer who was there, they are not doing full checks, A major incident is going to happen soon.

  • Oh yeah I but you "that guy" is a real good source.

  • proof read b4 posting u noob

  • Ok...what am I supposed to be reading. Lol noob? piss off. What are you 11?

  • Qantas is one of the safest airlines in the avation, there have been only 4 incidents and no plane crash at all, consequently no one ever died on a flight

  • A Qantas 747 did come off the end of a runway in 1999 with a collapsed nosewheel. That is a "crash". I think Qantas needs to be careful of the safest airline as no one died statement. An airline is only as safe as its last flight and 2 serious "incidents" in 2008 is pushing their luck.

  • That was an Ansett Australia plane not Qantas =)

  • it did happen top qantas 747 in hong kong is i remember thats the airport, 747-400 ran off runway and nose-wheel collapsed, i remember that news article as i do with few aviation related articles, but i couldnt put finger on year but 1999 sounds bout right.

  • oh ok i forgot about that one my apologies.

  • Ansett don't operate anymore.

  • What happened.. severe turbulence?

  • Qantas perfect flight record

They OUTSOURCED servicing of their planes.

Now they fk up once a fornight

  • "Passengers aboard an international Qantas flight today told of their horror as the plane plunged up to 2,000 metres over Western Australia, hurling people around the cabin"

"West Australian police said at least 20 passengers and crew aboard QF72 were seriously injured - some with spinal injuries and others with broken bones and lacerations."

  • all of a sudden, which i dont know why, i feel that utube is full of spams...

for eg, the video respones for this video...

Qantas and utube got to do some big improvement.

  • Lawl, Phones are meant to be off on the plane at all times...probably why the plane stuffed up in the first place.

  • Airlines in america.. now allow phones to be on...... and have wireless internet and stuff... plus... they could have had there phone in airplane mode ;)

  • ..it's on the ground.

  • weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

  • I'm proud to call myself Australian, but unless Qantas can stop outsourcing there aircraft maintenance to cheap and nasty foreign companies, then I'm sorry to say that I will never fly Qantas again. Pull your pants up Qantas or you'll find eventually that you won't have any to wear at all.

  • yeah i agree 100% with that

  • Then you shall travel in your Asian outsourced car, or possibly boat? wait no. just stay in your house.

  • I didn't think of that. Good point.

  • I wonder if qantas still has its safest airline in the world title?

  • Qantas, Stop outsourcing your services to these suspect countries. There engineers are not as good as the Australian trained ones.

  • i was catching a different plane to learmont that arvo and saw the plane there and i was like wtf i didnt know quantas came here?? lol.

  • Boring, uneventful.

  • Not anything to do with Qantas....the plane hit wind shear at altitude and last several thousand feet in seconds....much like those weightless flights.....any plane flying into that would have done the same..Singapore Airlines, Thai, Malaysian whoever. Would have been terrifying for the passengers and crew. Some passengers were seriously injured....again why seatbelts should be on at all times when seated in a plane.

  • yet another reason not to fly qantas -.-

    Singapore airlines all the way

  • was this filmed with an asus? That clicking sounds familiar.

  • i dont know what the fuck i am supposed to be looking at, but i think i heard a tazzer sizzling in the background near the end. someone please explain what the fuck is going on.

  • Bush must hate these white people...Katrina...now the lightnin'.

  • lol, fail.

  • and you are a joke.

  • awesome!!!!!

  • I would say the aircraft has crossed a boundry get stream, they are in that area, and are very fast. They can pitch an aircraft big time.

  • Qantas is becoming trashy, seriously. A once elegant, classy and safe airline not to mention the 2nd oldest in the world, is becoming an embaressment to the aviation industry.

  • The person who uploaded is abit useless, i mean, come on for crying out loud, you upload this video and don't say what happened? Smart.

  • i agree with you...what happened??

  • Sorry muthafuckas. They are to blame not mother nature. Just like Bush....Bush should be able to cuntrol Hurrucanes. Vote for hate in 08! Vote Hussein!

  • Just shut up. This isnt a political video so dont go spouted your uneducated crap about politics.

  • Bullshit blind tranny fag. Why izznt Bush blamed for this dumbfuck.

  • how the fuck did 10 cops get on the plane? I mean was there a prisoner onboard or did they magically float to the plane :/

  • they stay in a different section of the plane away from the passengers. All airlines have them now since 9-11

  • Where in the plane do they stay? In the luggage holding bay!? >:D

I'd go join them... play hide 'n' seek... or something...

  • haha idk where they stay i just know that all airlines have armed "personel" on board.

  • not all flights, slected international and reason police were aboared was because they landed Learmonth Airport WA, stairs, the things u walk up were placed next to aircraft and police walked up stairs and into aircraft along with paramedics

  • mayb the plane never left ground.

  • *Gasps, screams* *'The Twilight Zone' theme plays*

  • what happen?

  • Mid-Air Incident? Who are you kidding? Did the emt's just fly in?

  • Of course, don't you know? They do that now...

  • Jetpacks.

  • this is why you want to stay buckled in your seat at all times....

  • You just wasted 1 minut and 29 seconds of my precious and adorable life

  • should have sold this video to the airline instead of postin it online lol

  • Hey Everybody,

watch the most inspiring videos based on a true story.

  • wow, what happened to the plane, terbulence?

  • It was UFO's!!!!!!!!!!!!!
